    NF3

The Sea Vixen alone in a full NF campaign would rock some serious socks.
  2. Does Chuck Norris therefore have infinite mass?
  3. Junction 102 on I-95. Mighty Eighth AF Museum.
  4. I don't think that was what he was asking. If the wings sweep on an aircraft at all, then most likely there is an animation slot added by the modeler in 3DS Max. The action of the wings sweeping in the Thirdwire series doesn't really make a difference to the flight model, as the series does not support different flight characteristics at variable geometry phases of the wings. See, if you take a look inside the data.ini of one of the aircraft, or any sweep wing aircraft for that matter, there should be an animation ID that is linked to a swing wing 'component.' For simplicity's sake, this component is usually set as a highlight device, allowing it to automatically sweep as velocity increases or decreases past a certain point. Take the third party MiG-27D mod for example, what you could probably do to make it a manual operation is change the current wing sweep data entries... [LeftSwingWing] SystemType=HIGHLIFT_DEVICE DeploymentMethod=AUTOMATIC_MACH Setting[1].Angle=45.0 Setting[1].DeployValue=0.80 Setting[1].RetractValue=0.85 Setting[2].Angle=72.0 Setting[2].DeployValue=0.40 Setting[2].RetractValue=0.45 MaxDeflection=72.0 MinDeflection=0.0 ControlRate=0.2 AnimationID=1 CLiftdc=0.0710 CDdc=0.0200 [RightSwingWing] SystemType=HIGHLIFT_DEVICE DeploymentMethod=AUTOMATIC_MACH Setting[1].Angle=45.0 Setting[1].DeployValue=0.80 Setting[1].RetractValue=0.85 Setting[2].Angle=72.0 Setting[2].DeployValue=0.40 Setting[2].RetractValue=0.45 MaxDeflection=72.0 MinDeflection=0.0 ControlRate=0.2 AnimationID=1 CLiftdc=0.0710 CDdc=0.0200 To something like [LeftSwingWing] SystemType=ANIMATION InputName=ANIMATION_1 DeploymentMethod=MANUAL AnimationTime=6.0 AnimationID=1 CLiftdc=0.0710 CDdc=0.0200 [RightSwingWing] SystemType=ANIMATION InputName=ANIMATION_1 DeploymentMethod=MANUAL AnimationTime=6.0 AnimationID=1 CLiftdc=0.0710 CDdc=0.0200 Only problem with this is you would not get the intermediate wing sweep angles of 45° and 72°, however, you can see that manual wing sweep is possible.
  5. If anyone makes a Bloodhound, let me know, I have a couple of decent walkarounds and can get further pics easily.
  6. It's a bit surprising that they're tearing them up this easily, I thought previously that a big issue had been made about the materials in the paint they are covered in. I had heard they were just going to be stored in the hangars at Tonopah with their wings taken off.
  7. Carnage of a wobbly goblin. Clicky
  8. Absolutely agree, the ability to extract multiple files to a designated folder would be great and very useful. EDIT: Here is a thread where someone was working on a new extracting utility, with some very handy features as said here.
  9. Happy Birthday mate!

  11. It looks like a good book indeed. I've been following the progress over at http://www.fjphotography.com/constantpeg/index.htm which is Steve Davies' site. There's a good load of pics over there and a decent forum with even a few bods who used to work on the program. A few of interesting tidbits about Soviet aircraft in the US... Evaluation of MiG-21 by USAF http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=reVZ9aPYi9A This site has some possible evidence of flankers at Groom... http://lazygranch.com/groom_lake_birds.htm This video shows the same thing, but the bird(s) in action... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3l08tgVSjIU A few interesting things can be seen on flightaware too, every now and again.

  13. Around 2004/5 maybe? First mod was trying to make the Martin Baker scheme of their own Gloster Meteor. It turned out awful.
  14. Is it just me or would the B-1R be called the BoneR? Come on, I think we all know why it was cancelled with a name like that. I can see it now... *NEWS-FLASH* "Earlier today, Taliban fighters in Afghanistan were hit by a massive strike from American BoneRs." I'll get my coat...
  15. I have started to map Veltro's deuce, he does good work for sure.
  16. Negative Ghostrider.
  17. I shall echo everyone and shout out for Duxford, it's always a good visit, you may even get lucky and see some warbirds flying, there's usually a few up and about. It'll cost you 16 quid to get in. If you are in London at all, Hendon is worth a visit too, it's got a great collection and the best part is that it's totally free. Have a good trip Brian!
  18. Because everyone loves the Ace of Clubs Saw one recently in fact, it looks a bit quirky but that scheme looks cool.
  19. Can't beat a bit of Fursty Ferret either Edit: Great work Baltika!
  20. These places sound good, the only issue with including more and more places that are further away would be that the work required to make the terrain increases exponentially. A terrain reaching from the GIUK gap all the way down to central Spain would be a collossal amount of work, baring in mind, you still need somewhere for the Russian bombers to originate from. Not trying to piss on your bonfire, but potential problems could escalate quickly. Boscombe Down has always been a testing base by the way.
  21. Perhaps this...? Clicky
  22. I would vote for that type of map too, maybe increasing the range of the map a bit further to the north-east. Would make for great interceptions. If it has the likes of Kinloss, Lossie, Conningsby, Cottesmore and Wittering I am completely sold.
  23. I would be all for that, I have diagrams of big RAF bases up north to make some decent homes for aircraft based here too...
