EF-2000 Eurofighter Typhoon "BETA" Pack
EricJ replied to ace888's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Yeah for any other target, you have to have a targeting pod equipped for it to attack other targets. You don't need one for the primary target. -

Super Hornets tilting nose down through carrier deck
EricJ replied to Sharkdog99's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Okay, I'll download it and see, as most decks work fine with it. EDIT: Is this a YAP deck? If so that was for WOX* titles (and I scoured both SF1 and SF2 downloads for it, no joy), and the Super Hornet is also made for SF2. If you have SF2:NA then I recommend the Nimitz deck. I know it's probably not cool like Ronald Reagan, but yeah you may have to do it.- 14 replies

My next terrain project
EricJ replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I could survive without blowing up a bridge so I don't care for what it's worth. -

I have no issue with the Super Hornet. You'd have to get with FastCargo as he has the original max files. -

EricJ replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Ahh okay. It would make for some interesting missions in a way, where you'd have to blow up that plane or whatnot. -

Thanks to daddyairplanes he got me some Ravenclaw_007 templates, which work fine for just making a personal skin. I'd have to muck with it some more with the templates if I want to do anything more. Here's one thing I wanted to do, is have a uniform dark grey that drove me up the wall with the original skins -

And don't forget period maps too. I think it's easier to just go with the rando spawning because you use maps in different time periods, and as trotski00 says, it's a bit of work to get it right. -

Does anybody have better templates for the Viper Team F-16s? I don't feel like redoing the wing templates, but may have to if nobody has any lying around. -

EricJ replied to Wilches's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I see, I'm not that familiar with maps and how they work (I have an inkling based on reading posts) but that's a Wrench or Gepard, or Menrva problem that I can't solve. Going to have to wait until they chime in. -

Maybe, but you're doing all of the steps, and it may be happening on this map. -

EricJ replied to Wilches's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I'm sure that the game doesn't recognize the carrier as a base on the map, even though it's a base. I haven't heard of maps having carriers on the map itself for the player/wingmen to fly from. I could be wrong but it may not be possible. I've always placed a carrier on the map via the Mission editor (or how they rigged it for ODS30), but never as a static base on the map. Wrench may know, but I doubt it can be done is all I'm saying. -

Oh now I see what you're trying to do. The game may not allow that kind of stuff. -

Did the carrier show up? You as far as I know have to physically put the deck on the map for it to recognize that there is a carrier on the map and allow you to take off from it. It only generates when you're going after a CVBN or whatever the acronym is. -
Version
6,098 downloads
READ THE README requires 7z to open: http://www.7z.org Adobe PDF for the readme: http://www.adobe.com Has weapon additions, and skin templates. Falls under the Combatace.com Freeware License Agreement Version 1.9 Fixes: -Improved Textures from the SF2 Version used. -Fuel capacity adjusted from the US Navy NATOPS manual. -SHARP Pod also included including weapondata additions. It should be advised that this was designed for SFP1/WOV/WOI/WOE, not Strike Fighters 2 as issues from that game will affect gameplay to varying degrees. If you wish to use this in SF2 DO NOT use this version, go here: http://combatace.com/files/file/9401-super-hornet-package-for-sf2-v19/ -

Did some research (was looking for something else) and happened upon the page for the F-16 Block 52 radar, so I tweaked it to improve the stats somewhat (for the Viper Team Block 52 F-16), radar reference is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN/APG-68 Simply replace the file and go fly. You can lock onto targets at 100 miles (I figured that was realistic enough) to use the AIM-120D effectively depending on your install. F-16C_B52_AVIONICS.7z -

Coming in for a bad trap. If I was flying a real plane they would have waved me off and I would have struck the ship, possibly damaging the landing gear and turn in my wings. But this is SF2 and I can get away with it. -

I think so, as for the SF2 side (don't know about SF1) they're gone from the file area Utilities/Editors/. -

Here are mine, it's for the only one we got, the FastCargo one (I believe that's it) but has everything, for the A, B, and C models. F-35Templates.7z Wrench, is it possible to add a Texture template thing for the Downloads section? I tried to find them under Utilities/Editors (where I believe that they were initially) but now gone. -

EricJ replied to LaoHu's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
There's a mod by FastCargo that does just that. Check the Downloads section and I would tell you the exact name if I remembered it. Should be in either the SF1 or SF2 section.- 11 replies
