  1. According to people on the ThirdWire forums, TK won't go past the 80s if I remember correctly. Sad because really, time is moving on and using Vietnam-era stuff is getting stale. Even "Shotgun" is reference to a Shrike launch, where the brevity term today is far different. Then again, I really don't pay attention to Red Crown unless she's calling up bogies...
  2. And one question, I do most of the setting of objects via KMD... the dumb question is, do I just put the targets in the "green" part of the terrain correct, since it uses the planning map?

  4. That sucks, it's actually quite a good spot, as I did a suppression mission and lost a wingnut (RIP) there. Made another site and it worked alot better, but gotcha. I think I'll wait for the next update to get really more motivated to work on it more, don't want to have to redo alot of work.

  6. Success! Well... kinda... It cycled on the Defense Suppression mission, which is cool as it shows it's working, but maybe because of the propensity of the AAA and SAMs that I have there. Which is fine as it showed me I'm finally figuring out slowly how it works...
  7. If you get the .CAT extract utility, you can do that. The weapons packs have all modded Weapondata.ini files, so go to the Downloads section, the Tools & Utilities spot, and you'll find it.

  9. Not sure.. as I would think that a weapons pack wouldn't make a difference.. but then again, methinks WoV has specific weapons for that particular sim. So the 2006 pack you're using, doesn't have those weapons in there. That's the only thing I can think of as I use a mishmash and haven't had much issue..
  10. Got a question Wrench, how can you get trees on this map? I tried moving the .tod files from the winter terrain to the Thaw version I prefer better. I saw in the winter one there were trees.. but me see no trees...

  12. okay got it, had an error anyways, the target marker showed up, but since I specified it as GROUND_ATTACK, I thought would work... but will try some more.

  14. Well... I think I added a new target base, a Scud launcher and some AAA and a munitions depot. It hasn't so far cycled to the target so I can get a snapshot, but after viewing through the KMD... it's definitely enemy. Now my question is.. do I have to make waypoints or does the game, when selecting that target, automatically make them? Also, depending on what aircraft you use.. be advised, a friendly warning to bring ECM if you're using modern SAMs and AAA. It's not too bad in the Bagram-Jbad road, but I took out a Harrier and got shot down...

  17. Well don't worry I just look at the screen as well, so it's all good, not expecting you to know man, so it's all good. Yeah I like the idea though, and the Sniper addition is a good update for the ol' bird in order to keep it up to date.
  18. I'm exactly not sure either, but I followed your instructions and it worked Personally, I don't understand why there's not a stablization feature in the code. I've seen many a pod stay locked on despite cloud cover.

  23. You know, I need to learn how to place objects in the maps. The sheer scale of targets and targetable objects... is going to be ALOT of work. Flew from Masar-I-Sharif (I "opened" it up) and yeah, it's quite a bit of work to do....
  24. I think, like most sims, elements like damage, are based on abstractness, due to the fact that aircraft values are more detailed (of course) than "other" ones. Stuff like Operation Flashpoint/ArmA/VBS1 have their own values to focus on for individual vehicles. Still, if a 57mm rocket pops a tank, that's just not right.
