  1. hehehe I got you on that one... True it's a big difference where we still had to sometimes wait, but we had other tricks up our sleeve so air support was always greatly appreciated
  2. Who said that training never paid off...
  3. And another early scheme...
  4. From a US standpoint no... you'll have CAS going on for hours (most I spent supporting on the ground was seven hours). Given current capabilities and from my experience the Forger would get a sold no in that department. When you got firefights that last hours staying capability counts, and while a good salvo is always good the turnaround time wouldn't net it a vote from the troops. Afghanistan is too unforgiving and those who fought (US and Soviet) can attest that airpower that can stay around a bit longer will always get a thumbs up, so dragging it off topic a bit the Forger was good for something, but close-air support it shouldn't be. Now if we're talking supporting a beachhead I can see it doing it, but not there, not ever. Unless it magically sprouted better fuel tanks and able to loiter for a few hours like the A-10 or Strike Eagle, I stand by my opinion.
  5. Early VFA-41
  6. Going with Fubar512's explanation, you're better parking the deck off the coast and then you might be able to reach across the other side But in all seriousness combat operations in Afghanistan (if it was Dave or Fubar) it got about 50km max range.
  7. Just did and looking nice....
  8. View File [Fictional] SEA Camo for the TMF/ Mod Mafia Hornet Since an F-18L isn't around... this I believe was the type of camo designed for it, during the end of the Vietnam War and promotion. Drop in your F/A-18A folder and go fly. NOTE: This is a basic skin with no decals for your What If pleasure... Submitter Flanker562 Submitted 02/24/2013 Category What If Skins

  10. Fast Eagle... (with some help from a scan from Dave)
  11. Ahh I see... the best I can do is give you a clean version of the data.ini, as I'm not sure why it's happening. F-4E_86_DATA.7z
  12. And a correction, dtmdragon modded the AN/APG-73, not the -79 stats.
  13. Hrm... did you mess with the pylons in any way? That's weird, The Kurnass correct?
  14. I can't see the images, and probably couldn't help out anyway at least for the adapters. But methinks they're setup (may have to look in the data.ini) and see what's up with that as I don't know. If they have red sides on them they could be the AIM-4 Falcon adapters (not sure if the Israelis used them?) and are part of the model.
  15. I really don't know what else to add to this, I added some US roundels for kicks or should I just upload and leave it blank?

  19. Going "Up North"
  20. Thanks! I'm trying to get the hook and mount to disappear and it it works, then I can make a fictional F-18L
  21. Probably with some tweaks you can make an F-18L, as i think this was the proposal camo (still needs some tweaking itself) scheme anyway
  22. Paul Doumer Strike Mission Me: F-4E with 3 x AIM-7E, 1 x ALQ-101v8, 4 x AIM-9H, 2 x AGM-45B Shrikes, 2 x AGM-65A Mavericks Started from Nakhon Phanom and headed Northeast and made it up to Hanoi. Detecting an SA-2 I fired a Shrike and didn't hit it. Instead of heading east and follow the waypoints I made it to the southeast corner of Thud Ridge and began my attack. I fired both Mavericks and while it hit the bridge, it didn't drop it. Takeaways: Some of this is doing some testing and some if it was well... testing. The A model Maverick isn't the weapon type to be hunting bridges, I think the E and higher models (off the top of my head anyway) are better suited, and usually 2,000lb class weapons do the trick all of the time. So I ended up with a mission fail.
  23. Hijack This!/VFA-41 2006 CAG modification
  24. Rolling Hot
  25. Nope, Kei Nagase did a boatload of Idolmaster skins and there have been various Ace Combat skins (hell, I did two myself, and maybe a third) so upload it...
