  1. Unfortunately that only applies to player selection, not AI, as this is my Afghan setup: [AllowedMissionTypes] FriendlyMissionTypes=STRIKE,SEAD,ARMED_RECON,CAS,RECON And I still get them. I think its controlled by a .dll and not ini...
  2. You don't need to put the modded files in the .cat files, no reason too. In your User/Thirdwire/SF2/ folder, simply create an "Effects" folder, and place the modded files in there. The game will read those instead of the files in the .cat file, so you don't have to worry about losing the base (unmodded) files with an overwrite.
  3. Cool find!
  4. Thanks! Ukrainian AF Flanker on patrol in Afghanistan (I truly wish you can disable AI Escort and CAP missions from some maps, truly a waste of processing power).
  5. Think this one should be stickied...
  6. Knowing that you hit a target on the side of a mountain using just a GPS guided bomb: Priceless
  7. Messing around with FC's GBU-32. Finally got around to seeing if I can't improve the texture, and well... I'll have to redo the texture because the bomb skin is from LOMAC, but it's not too difficult.
  8. A Flygvapnet pilot fires an AGM-65D Maverick in support of combat oprations in Afghanistan (Fictional account)
  9. Relax man, I can't tell what you did or didn't do... I know it's "simple, stupid" but hey, I wasn't sure
  10. The only thing I can think of is adding "TLR" to those pylons. It's listed in the Weapons Editor as one, so add that and see what happens.
  11. Yep I tried it on the A-4E (Late) and it didn't work. Guess I'll have to reinstall SF2V..
  12. True I was trying to fix a Scooter myself but for some reason the hump won't show, so not sure what the deelio is, may need the "FakePilot" setup in order for it to work.
  13. Nice one exhausted
  14. YAP and excellent shots Stick, and Spinners
  15. Looking nice!
  16. True, that's why you hit the "M" key to verify. Besides Strike Fighters 1/2 is pretty basic: Waypoint #2: Departure Waypoint #3: Waypoint Waypoint #4: Initial Point (The waypoint with a square) Waypoint #5: Target Location (The waypoint with a triangle) Waypoint #6: Egress Direction Waypoint #7: Waypoint Waypoint #8: Approach Waypoint #9: Landing Lineup Waypoint #10: Runway End.
  17. It more than likely is doable, but by The Mirage Factory or somebody versed in that stuff. I usually adjust my zoom all the way out so I can see the HSI while flying though.
  18. I found some bits in ObjectData003.cat for SF2E.
  19. It's the way the game engine works unfortunately. What you can do is go into the Loadout.ini of the aircraft and do this: Loadout[32].WeaponType=GBU-40 Loadout[32].RackType=BRU-61 Loadout[32].Quantity=4 This is taken from the F-15E thats in the SF2 super pack but shows how it will successfully load as you want it.
  20. From what Spectre_USA told me, it's a bug that never got squashed. I had it happen to me in a campaign once, and once bitten twice shy is my feeling, but it does happen, and as far as I know not fixed. I would have thought it would have been fixed in SF2 but apparently not...
  21. It should register. Check the particular aircraft's folder, and find the "_RWR.lst" file, and open it up with notepad. If I convert planes to SF2, then I use the base list that MigBuster had in his tutorial. It's the user's responsibility to update the TEWS list themselves. Also, I'm pretty sure in the SA-17 Readme for SF2 I specified the line you had to add to the TEWS list. If not my apologies...
  22. Very nice, thanks!
  23. For those a bit daunted by the terrain, the only way to concievably put out targets is to fly a mission, enable your DisplayDebug=TRUE and use CTRL + F12 and then "fly" to where you want. If you get something like the image below, your targets will be sunk "on the earth" and therefore not reachable technically by your weapons due to collision zones and "transparency" of the 3d terrain. However, you can also find areas that if you "fly" and you are skimming the ground, without getting the result below, then you can put targets on there. I found that out today with a SAM site on the slope of the mountain, so technically... you should be able to engage those targets without sinking them.
