  1. View File Airstrikes on land targets in SF2NA This will allow you to attack Airfields, Fuel Tanks, Evil Comm Buildings, and many other land targets in game assigned Strike missions. The Mod uses JSGME to allow an easy, (almost) one click change between land and naval targetting. JSGME also ensures that if you don't like the Mod, you can easily restore your install to it's original condition. I've only tested this in single missions; I don't think you'll fufill the Campaign Victory Conditions with this installed (you'll never even see the Kiev, much less sink it). To anyone who already knows the trick cheers, you don't need this, anyone else, thank snapper 21 for the original idea. 3. NO! Do not drop the whole thing in there unless you have the SF1 Screens to match. Use the attached .inis and the SystemMenu.ini, InfoTextetting.ini, and MenuSetting.ini from my WOA/WOR pack and I think that'll do it. BoB inis.7z
  4. Hey Icarus999, how's it goin'? Yessir, land strikes only. Unfortunately, only means only. If you change the terrain.ini to allow Anti_Ship missions, you get "Perform anti ship mission at (null)" because there are no Shipping Routes defined in the Movement.ini. Perhaps one of our terrain gurus could address this, terrains are definitely not my thing.
  5. Actually, you can fix that pretty easily. I did this via JSGME, which I use when I think I might want to reverse something, for obvious reasons, but it's only five ships (counting the P-4 Patrol Boat) and two other .inis so it's pretty easy to reverse anyway. First, extract the Data.inis for the Soviet ships and change the NationName to SovietNavy. Then modify a Nations.ini by creating SovietNavy as a new nation (just copy the existing Soviet entry and change the number and names). Make sure the number is in sequence. Lastly, and this is the key, modify the ICELANDNA_NATIONS.ini by adding SovietNavy as EnemyNation=002 and put that in the ICELANDNA terrain folder. Voila! Strike missions will now target land targets, I think exclusively. I haven't tested making SovietNavy EnemyNation=001 because again, using JSGME I'm just pulling the mod out, reverting the game to it's original state (ie., no SovietNavy, Soviet as EnemyNation=001). Not sure how it affects Campaigns etc., but it does work for single missions and, as I said, it's pretty easy to reverse. Have fun!
  6. Set the file type in the lower right hand corner of the extractor window.
  7. Hey usafphantom, you losin' it or somethin' there, buddy? This terrain's basically a drop in, definitely no worse than some of the others we've compared notes on. You don't need a SF1 GermanyCE folder, it'll reference whatever it needs from the SF2 Cat. You didn't drop this into WOA without renaming it, did you? Ya musta screwed somethin' up cuz this went right in for me. That bein' said, while I like Wrenchs' more detailed airfields and stuff, (I'm gonna be in the doghouse now) I kinda like the original desert tiles better; kinda more Blindingly Western Desert like, if you know what I mean. Try it again with a fresh download and try it out before you touch anything; if it works you can update it then. Good luck! Edit: Wrench, the original references the GermanyCE Cat, and actually, so does the V2 terrain.
  8. I don't think it's that easy; see this: http://combatace.com/topic/61382-add-anything-to-a-ship/ And, please find the "period" (stop) key, if you use up all of your exclamation points now, what will you do when you really need one?
  9. Oh, great! So you'll do it then? Boy, here I thought that after all that work on the EuroWW2 terrain, (which looks to be really great [shameless stroking ]) you'd want to take a break! Just kiddin', Boss. Thing is, though, to many of us (me), the only thing we know about terrains is what they knew in the Middle Ages: Here Be Dragons! I'll try messin' around with the movement.ini, but the airfield stuff is definitely beyond me. LOL: One of these days I'll figure this "quote" thing out!
  10. I dunno man, there's a couple of serious problems with that; I think that Terrain would need some serious rearrangement to use for the Winter War, it's set up for the modern era. The airfields look too modern and some from WW2 are probably not shown. In those days all you needed was some reasonably flat ground, some hangers, and a tower and you had yourself an airfield. The real problem, I think, would be the placement of the front line. The Winter War was fought because the Soviets demanded certain territorial concessions from the Finns; while the Finns kicked some a$$ for a while, (which is, of course, why we want to "game" this scenario ), eventually the weight of Soviet numbers prevailed and the Finns were forced to concede those territories. This is already recognized by the front line in the Terrain and sort of removes the "causus belli" from the situation. Take a look at the attached images; one's a map screenshot from the game, the other is the SovietFinnish border at the beginning of the war.
  11. Yeah, the Su-15_ABEmitter file is missing the Shader statement. skyknight0721, drop the attached file into your Effects folder. SU15_ABEmitter.7z

  14. Yes indeedy,...if he was able to manage this without having enough time, just imagine...
  15. Is there a DefaultTexture entry? I think that means they're stand-ins.
  16. Capitaine, looking foward to those campaigns; I've got both WOA and WOR converted for use in SF2, as well as your Crusader and Gazala Campaigns for WOA. If your WOR Campaigns are as good as those they'll be a great addition (and of course, I fully expect them to be).
  17. OK, as promised here's a full set of Screen .inis that will enable you to use all the Menu Screens that came with the Skunk Works (DAT) Wings Over Africa and Wings Over Russia all inclusive mods; it should work with almost any mod with SF1 style screens. The BoB mod is an exception, you will have to make some adjustments due to the unique screens it has. Since there's only the Mainscreen and CampaignScreen, it shouldn't be a big deal. These .inis are set up to use the original .BMPs supplied with the mods; however this is easy to change in case you've converted them to .JPGs. If you need to change them, open each Screen file with notepad, near the top you'll see two BackgroundImage statements, like this: BackgroundImage=ScreenName.bmp //BackgroundImage=ScreenName.jpg. If you're using .bmps, leave it alone. If you're using .jpgs, change it to looklike this://BackgroundImage=ScreenName.bmp BackgroundImage=ScreenName.jpg and you're all set. For anyone wondering why I bothered, I just couldn't stand to let those screens go to waste, the briefing screen in WOR in particular. At the same time, I couldn't stand looking at all the text etc., in all the wrong places and one thing led to another. The included FlightEngine.ini is stock except for the BackgroundImage statement for the default loading picture. For safetys sake, back up your menu folder in case something porks up your install, drop these folders into their respective locations, and hopefully, enjoy. SF1 .inis for SF2.7z
  18. Whoa, 331Killerbee this is priceless! Exactly what is needed and should really be in the KB.
  19. I'm adapting the game .ini files so you can use the Campaign, SingleMission, PilotRecord, Loadout etc. screens that came with the mod. I'll upload them here tomorrow.
  20. Yeah, I've got it running now too. All the start dates were wrong in both the main and data .inis. Still not sure if that was the only thing though, I had to go through another bizarre dance, with the added pleasure of having to delete the flight folder before it would run. After I got it running, I was able to add everything back into the flight folder, and it still ran. Go figure. Working on adapting .inis so it can use the SF1 style screens.
  21. Ah, so I did remember something, anyway. Thanks, IanH!
