  1. I guess then my next reply would be to make sure your graphics card isn't overheating. Other than that, can't help ya :(
  2. So yeah, I just spent the last, oh, 5 hours or so relearning how to fight in the air again Man, this game rocks!!! It's been a few years since I've flown a combat sim, so I had to relearn everything. After playing MOH for a year or more, I'm ready to go back to flying. I remember that back in CFS, in my prime, I was able to take on at least 3 or 4 waves of 9 Ace axis fighters. I just spent 5 hours trying to beat 1 Normal/Experienced PF Fighter And it was great! I'm glad to say that I think I put up a hell of a fight the whole way around. I was flying and fighting a F4U-C in a 1vs1 showdown. Even at Experienced, he was only able to knock me down 4 or 5 times. I think I only ever got 1 actual, deserved kill on him, and unfortunetly, I forgot to save the track :( Though I did beat him more than that, I don't think I deserved some of them, because some of them the AI just starting straight and level once I got on his tail. Oh well, the target practice was good ;) Most of the other matches ended up in collisions, me pushing the eject button on accident All in all, I see a huge potential in this game. I'm running this game on a lower end laptop (Centrino 1.4, 512 PC333 RAM, integrated video), and I have a lot of fairly high settings with smooth frame rates. I don't know about multiplayer yet, but so far I am very happy with this game. PG_Raptor Mister Pilot Man
  3. Hmm... I was gonna say it was AAA fire... but no, there' too much for that. Second thought was water reflection problems. But that doesn't look like the case either. Hmm. Does it do that during flying?
  4. I did stand alone, only because I don't have AEP and FB. The way it's set up though, stand alone can't fly with PF+AEP+FB, and vice versa. So what they recommend in the readme is that you install it both stand alone and PF+AEP+FB. That way you can play either.
  5. You know, that's really funny, I got home with the exact same game, probably not more than 10 minutes later than you, lolol! Definatly looks to be a great game...
  6. I picked up Pacific Fighters last night as well... Man it feels good to shoot something down again! With guns, not them cheater missles! I think my system is limited on the amount of graphics it can produce, so I'm stuck with decent-but-nothing-exhilerating graphics. Oh well, the up side is that with all the settings on high I've got smooth playing! Oh, and as I found out last night, watch out for that P-40, it stalls very easily! Looks like this game is gonna be hour upon hours of fun!

  8. Does this scare anyone else? It seems that some scientist has created a brain that can fly a flight sim. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/briefs/20041018/brain.html I can see the many uses of this, but I don't think it'll take too long before these are used in some... inhumane? ways.
  9. OMG...
  10. Lookin good MJ! I like the layout, it's probably the cleanest I've seen so far on the site. Very nice! If I've got any gripe (and you know I always do ), I'd still like to see the links open in a new window. But that's it, I swear Great job!
  11. For all of those new to Biohaz, welcome! I would like to invite all of you to visit the Folding@Home forum way down at the bottom of the page. There are many interesting forums down there, so please don't just stick to the pub and the LOMAC forum. Become an active member of the community, and you will be glad you did! I would also like to invite join in our effort to make the top 100 in folding. You can find out more about folding here. In short, it uses your extra CPU power not used by other programs to help find cures for many diseases. There used to be some promotional videos, but I don't know where they're at anymore... Someone still have those? Anyways, please join us!
  12. That could be any number of things. It may be your power supply, as joe said. It may also be some bad components, like SDirickson said. The first thing that came to my mind is that you may be overheating your CPU. I've never had any expereince doing that though, so I'm not sure what all the symptoms are of that. Try downloading Motherboard Monitor and see what has to say, you should not be going above 60 C on your components.
  13. Aye, I know that feeling. Can't decide if it's good or bad
  14. Has anyone picked up a copy yet? I beleive it went on sale today in the US, and pretty cheap too. I saw online retail was $40. Anyone got any reviews of it?

    Icehockey

Bah, time to turn to college hockey! Go Souix!!! The University of North Dakota Souix will be playing their arch rivals, the University of Minnisota Gophers. It's gonna be an awesome game, #2 vs. #3, respectivly. Being my third hockey game, this ones gonna rock...
  16. Heh, I've read those before... in fact, you missed a few: SAEED AL SAHAF, Iraqi Head of Information - The chicken did not cross the road. This is a complete fabrication. We do not even have a chicken. TONY BLAIR - I agree with George W. HOMER SIMPSON - Mmmmmmmmm . . . . c h i c k e n I still like the Colonel Sanders one though :D
  17. NVidia today released their new chipset, nForce4! Combining all the performance of the nForce3 boards, and adding many new features, the nForce4 chipset seems to be the best set for anyone looking for an upgrade! New features are many, starting with PCI Express support; ActiveArmor, a highly configurable hardware firewall that uses hardly any CPU cycles; new RAID controllers; the long awaited NVidia SLI technology; and last but not least, nTune, a built in overclocking feature. Read up for yourself: Bjord3d [H]ardOCP Hardware Analysis Hexus HotHardware Neoseeker PCPerspective TeamHardware TechReport The Mod Fathers Viperlair And once you're through reading all of those, you can check out the new Athlon64 4000+ and Athlon FX-53. Upping the the cache to 1 Gb while keeping the clock speed the same, the 4000+ is essentually an FX-53, the only difference being an unlocked multiplier on the FX-53. The FX-55 uses strained silicon to bring the clock up to 2.6, making it the king of processors, no contest. Read up on all the new tech! AMD Review HardwareZone K-Hardware PCStats Planet 3DNow Sharky Extreme Short-Media T-Break TechReport Techware Labs VR-Zone And, amidst all this new technology, VIA also launched their new chipset, the K8T890, although it is not as highly anticipated as the nForce4 chipset. It also brings PCIE support to socket 939.
  18. And you can't forget FS95, 98, 2000, 2002, and 2004, CFS I, II, III. Of course, only about 3 of those are worth putting on the list, but hey, they're all actual flight sims.
  19. The Doom 3 Hell Inside mod is done, catch it here: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=802949&page=2
  20. A guy on another message board I visit found this: Fat Asian Kid
  21. Speaking of attracting new people, did you get my pm to you earlier this week MJ?
  22. I'm sure we've all gotten some of those email tests that tell you about yourself. Well here's one that actually means something to us computer geeks :D What file extention are you? Here's what I ended up with:
  23. :offtopic: Heh, I like how 11 of the first 18 people in the lottery thread 2 or less posts. Perhaps for future lottery thingys there should be an additional rule where you have to have 10 undeleted posts before you can enter? I've seen this done on other sites, perhaps you should do it too, consindering the whole point is to "give something back to all of you that visit regularly"? Keeps people from free-loading.
  24. Looks like he's either out of bandwidth, or you got the link wrong.
