Nesher, Congratulations on your becoming a soldier, I'm sure this is an exciting time for you! I know that you will remember your training, and always look out for your squadmates, you may save a life one day (or vice versa). Good luck bro!

I, state your name, swear... uuhhhh... high-and-tight... cammies... uhh... ugh... Air Force women... OORAH! So help me Corps. ______________________________ Thumb Print Date (Y/N) LOL! Brings back memories of being fresh out of the Army, wanting a change, and asking the officer at my oath if it was too late to re-neg before handing in my (re?) enlistment docs..... And ya know what? I never regretted it; that's why I went back into the Army!

<S> Pcpilot! we wouldn't want it any other way. :P

I actually set the lighting texures up to a reasonable rate now! I went into the Doom3 config file in the base/doom3 dir. You have to scrool down (about halfway), but you can adjust the ambient lighting as well as gamma. I turned mine up to 3 and took the brightness down to 25%, and it worked out beautifully. It's still dark in the game, but you're not always having to switch b/t the flashlight and gun all the time.

Got a website that's way better than fileplanet; you just d/l and don't have to worry about logging in or anyhting: http://doom3.filefront.com/ Has all the same stuff that fileplanet has, just less crap to sift thru!

That is great, now maybe I can afford my PPL. It's been 8 years since I started when I was 18, and had to quit b/c it was so bloody expensive.

I look at that stuff and think: Starship Troopers. It's pretty sweet tho, I hope I get to try some of that stuff out.

OK, Just got done with Marine HQ, and I'm finding this game really impressive. Yet, I think it's waaaay too dark. It's like gun, flashlight, gun, flashlight, gun, flashlight, gun, gun, GUN, OMFG GUUUUUUUN!!!!! AAAAAAAHHH! For those who read this, imagine that with graphics. Really scary graphics. I mean scary....like poop my pants kind of scary. That's D3 in a nutshell. I just hope the game isn't this dark throughout.

Semper Fi bro! My boots should be hitting the ground in June, so your not alone.

Jeez Chief, sorry to hear that you had to invite such a peckerwad over to your house! I feel kinda lucky that I haven't even seen an officer since I've been at my new unit except for when I swore in. Ah, the good old days are back again. I just talk to the officers over a radio, I don't have to see them in person (thank gawd).

VVanks, that is truly above and beyond!

What is THE best HOTAS joystick/throttle combo ou
zagnut replied to pcpilot's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
Hey PcPilot, I used to have the X-36 untill it died, (no kidding, the rudder twister broke, but I used it for 1 more year untill it wouldn't respond anymore). I got the X-45 and Thank God that I also bought the 2 year replacement warranty from Best Buy- (no questions asked) B/c I went through 2 of them so far. I am currently on my 3rd X-45 with a good year and a half for replacements. It's not that sturdy in IMO, but it has quite a bang for the buck. I'm not sure about the X-52 since the Army doesn't like it's soldies looking a vid games sites, yet, for a good bargain, get the X-45. Just be sure to get a distributor's warrany for replacement. I have to admit, I was very hard on my X-36 aqnd it lasted, but the X-45 seems much more flimsier than the last model. If you can swing it, go with Master Chief's suggestion and get the CH stuff. I know it's expesive, but my first stick was a CH and it still works! (from 1992- no kidding!). Take care guys. -
Happy Birthday Ghostdog!

Anyone remember that old tv show Space: Above and Beyond? That's what I'm thinking... Otherwise from that, I think it looks pretty sweet especially if it comes all wrapped up with a hot pilot chick inside! :o

Best...flow chart...ever!

Thank guys. It was actually alot of fun by the time I got into phase II, b/c that was when we started using all the new high-tech stuff. Sort of a catch-22 though; when I get out to Irwin we're going low-tech since we're OPFOR. Well, we are the "bad guys" I guess.

LOL, just saw the first vid. Good stuff :P IMA PIYIMP!

Whats up everybody! I just pulled into Vegas last night from Sacramento, and it feels good to be back. I'm now a qualified 31c Radio Operator for the 221 Cav under the 11th Armored. We've been mobilized for Ft. Irwin in August, so when I get out there I'll check in when I get a chance, but in the meantime, I need to catch up on my gaming! S! all. Zag

Hi all, Just wanted to drop line and say hi all my old buddies here. Things are going well here in Sacramento, I've seen the town, drank the beer, and made history with my partners in crime here at the post. For the most part, we managed to get the post on an alcohol-free order :(, and we've had up to 3 scandals in one week. Anyone caught with booze gets walking papers, so we're back on the straight and narrow now. I have about another month of training here, and I'm going crazy without my 'puter or any games, but one of the guys lets me use his laptop so it's more like a 12 step process I guess. If I had known about this place before I came, I would have driven. There's nothing out here! The nearest 7-11 is about 2 miles away, and now we're a dry post, so I guess I won't be getting my weekly pt to the store (DOH). On another note, I started lifting weights after class, and I'm becoming somewhat of an animal in the gym (so I've been told), but it's a great time killer for the most part. If we want to go to the PX, McClellan Park is the closest one. Although this place surley sux, it's great being back in uniform again. I really am enjoying myself and my classmates. Anyways, I'll check back in about a week or when I can, so keep it real guys, and have a good week. BTW, If anyone lives in Sacrament, pm me and we'll have to get down to the Hogs head for some good beer. Zag out

Happy Birthday man, hope yours is a good one.

Thankyou all for your replies, I really appreciate it! Well, I now have orders, uniforms, and ID card. It took two fun filled days at Nellis AFB getting that stuff, as I was originally going to be processed in June. (Oh well) Anyways, I'll post when I get the opportunity, but I'm not sure what the living arrangements are going to be. I will be at Camp Parks near Sacramento, CA for the next eight weeks for phase 1&2 condensed commo school, then off to Ft. Irwin to join up w/ my unit. I'm now a member of the 221st Armor Cav under the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. The cool thing is that we're an OPFOR unit, so I'm sure that I'll get my fill of war games out the ying-yang. :P I just hope that the business in Iraq is over soon. I don't think we will have to go since our mission is the train others in CONUS, but if the time comes, I will do my duty. About the pictures; I really want to be able to take some for you guys, but I don't have a digital camera yet. Maybe after the 15th I can get one at the PX. :) Thanks again to all, and like I said, I'll post when I get another chance. Zag

Hey all, I have been activated for deployment. Not sure what the final destination is, but I'll keep you guys up to date. I do know that I'm going to get a new (MOS 31 series), which starts next Tuesday in Sacramento. I'll drop a line when I can, and do my upmost to complete my duty. Zag

Hey Sarge, welcome to the 'Haz. We're always glad to have another person in our forums!

LOL Out where I live we have the Nevada Test Site which does occasional nuclear testing. One test sometime last year had sent out weak EMP but had disabled garage doors from opening as well as keyless entry for one's car. This mostly happened on the outskirts of town on the far NW side along with most of Indian Springs.

I ended up d/l and installing it w/ no prob, and I must say; this is why I love Oleg and his crew- because they improve on an already outstanding project, and then add more to it which make this series worth it's weight in platnum. I have a feeling that Pacific Fighters will be a definate keeper like FB and Aces. Shoot, I even still have the original IL-2!
