  4. For those interested, Top Gun is out on Blu-Ray today.
  5. I'd buy it if anyone had it in stock, but I think it is OOP.
  6. Today, I saw gas for $3.75 a gallon. So I filled up.
  7. The concept of a hardcore flight sim is just mental masturbation anyway. Until they can add the element of imminent death, it isn't hardcore and its not accurate.
  8. The coordinates are relative to the decal facnig, so for a left-facing decal like the one above, the first number is the x coordinate, which posittions the decal 6.9 meters forward of the center point of the model. The second number positions the decal .3 meters above the horizontal centerline of the model. If the decal orientation was TOP or BOTTOM, the first number would be the left/right position, and the second number the fore/aft. IIRC.
  9. Does anyone have a high res scan of Superscale decal set 48-119 (VA-15 and VA-37 A-7Es)?
  10. Updated this morning to fix a small decal problem.

  19. Just saw these, I don't think they have been available in the US for very long: http://www.centurywings.com/top.html Its a Japanese company founded in 2006. The detail on the models looks great and they appear to be fairly accurate.
  20. Ordered a copy. Thanks for the tip!
  21. Yes, according to the program, their designer was a specialist in tracked vehicles and worked extensively on Soviet tank technology.
  22. There was an excellent program on the Science Channel last night about the Soviet Lunakhod moon rovers of the early 1970s. These rovers were way ahead of their time and the world didn't catch up with the Soviet technology until the recent Mars rovers were launched. By all means check out the program if you get an opportunity: http://science.discovery.com/tv-schedules/...5151.118966.0.0 Wiki article on Lunakhod: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunakhod
  23. This was a design decision. ThirdWire sims are player-centric, meaning that they are designed so that the player is always at the center of the action. If there were heavy Allied air defences, many of the enemy flights would be shot down before the player had a chance to do it himself (remeber--the games don't support flying for the red side out of the box, so this isn't a problem unless you mod the games). Its not realistic, obviously, but it is in keeping with the action-oriented nature of the games.
  24. What are they going to do about the fact that Top Gun doesn't exist in the same sense that it did when the first movie was made?
