  1. None of what you said is possible, unfortunately. The mod I linked attempts to do it, but it turns out that plane numbers, callsigns, mentioned o'clock positions, etc., are totally fake/random and do not reflect what's happening really in-game. The game was not programmed to take such details into account, thus they are completely random and wrong. You'd hear the AI mention "Cowboy Two" but there is no Cowboy flight in-game, for instance. The same can be said for SAMs, o'clock positions are totally wrong. You could use that above mod for immersion, but surely it has no real gameplay purpose, it actually makes it worse in my view. As for figuring out if they are talking to you, speech subtitle colours help you determine that.
  2. This is what you're looking for, it's in the SF1 downloads section: https://combatace.com/files/file/7157-comms-mod/ The mod may look cool at first, but soon you realize that AI calls about SAM missiles, callsigns, etc. are completely wrong and do not reflect the reality in-game. It may seem more detailed, but it's totally random and inaccurate.
  3. No need for a cockpit replacement. Simply remove SeatID and SetCockpitPosition statements altogether from the data.ini, and it should be problem solved.
  4. Here it is: https://combatace.com/files/file/3369-polaks-speechmod-v10/ Next time, please remember to use the search bar available on this site, it's extremely powerful to find what you're looking for with a few keywords.
  5. You don't know TK then. Been there, done that. The best I got was a like to a post where I announced ODS 30AE, since I pinged the ThirdWire account on his Discord server. TK did not even bother to announce this SFMC update on the Discord server, which should be TW's official forum since the old one was closed due to server costs. He's a good (I'd even say great) programmer, who doesn't really care about PR. Blame him or not, the situation isn't going to change. This SFMC update is coming indeed (it will happen, unlike the promised SF2 Win10 update which seems vaporware so far); all he has to do is port all the latest changes of the mobile version of SFMC to the PC version, it's not going to be a total engine rework like SF2 Win10 is meant to be. If you guys have a look at the Discord server, you'll notice many gamers talking relentlessly about updates of the mobile game. SFMC is updated regularly by TK, now he's updating the PC port after a good amount of additions and bug fixes were made for the original Android version.
  6. I wouldn't care about this arcade-ish mobile game ported to PC if I were you. Unfortunately, there's more demand for these mobile games rather than for a proper update of the original Strike Fighters series we all love. Our best hope is that this mediocre (yet unique in its kind) game brings money to TK. Maybe and just maybe we can get news on the Win10 (Win11?) patch for SF2. The news are not related to Strike Fighters 2, so the topic should be moved elsewhere.
  7. The only speech pack which also modifies the original Red Crown is the one by Polak. It is definitely available in the SFP1 download section. Just look for his name. Alternatively, download this re-release of it which I made for SF2, I think it would work just as fine in SF1: https://combatace.com/files/file/16919-speech-enhancement/
  8. Ah, apologies then. We all thought you were referring to that Vietnamese speech pack I described. For English speech voiceovers, just look in the downloads section of Strike Fighters 1, you'll find some packages that will suit your needs.
  9. I may be wrong, but isn't it a notebook graphics card? The mod won't work on most notebooks as their processors and graphics cards are low-end and won't meet basic requirements. The CPU may be your bottleneck more than the GPU. Apart from updating video drivers (there are third-party software such as Driver Booster) you may want to reduce graphics options to the lowest details and resolution, and see if that improves anything. The mod is pretty heavy on resources, it's aimed at desktop PCs with more recent hardware.
  10. @mue you just made my day! Fantastic news about the TOD Editor! I know how much effort and time are required to create such tools, so I'll wait patiently for it. We owe you one!
  11. @Maverhec I'd like to help, but you gave very little details and I cannot understand what's going wrong. Does the game fail to load once you choose to fly? Are you able to navigate menu screens with no trouble? I highly suggest that you update your video drivers to the latest, especially if you have a Nvidia video card. The mod does not work with Intel integrated graphics card.
  12. It's a complete and correct speech pack, unlike many others with random words in Russian, German and so on. The second best speech pack is the Arabic one still in the works by GKABS, it's an exclusive for ODS 30AE at the moment. Alright, I look forward to prepare the Vietnamese speech pack with tweaks for SF2 and upload it with credits to the real authors, maybe next month. Now I got issues with RL that take priority.
  13. Definitely, I'm grateful to Mue for his tools! As a terrain modder, it's just a pity his TOD Editor was never completed; in my view that's the remaining tool we'd need to fully improve and explore the potential of Strike Fighters' old engine.
  14. I have it, it should still be available in the French Check Six archive, it's just hidden. I could upload it here at CombatACE, but I do not have any contact with the original creators. Will wait for the admins to hear about it. I could also update it for use on SF2.
  15. Download my menu screens mod package (a conversion of the menu screens from SFP1), it properly restores the briefing screen with visibility info, alongside few other features from SFP1. It's available here: https://combatace.com/files/file/16900-wings-over-world-menu-screens/ If you prefer the crappy SF2 menu screens, there should be a SF2 Briefing Retrofit mod somewhere in the downloads section.
  16. Indeed, bizarre is the right word. Windows likes to complicate things with strange issues, and SF2's mod system is also rather antiquated to deal with. Well, I'm glad it now works on your end! Be sure to tweak graphics options to your likings, and remember that the mod is much heavier on resources than stock SF2 (due to high poly 3d models, 2k textures, high quality sounds, tons of new effects, and so on).
  17. It's right to be so! Once the executable is run for the first time, it adds relevant data to the Options.ini (including the mod's path) and version.ini files. I cannot add those arbitrarily, because they depend on each user's system. It's just another SF2 executable with different name, it works the same! If the Options.ini has no such info, it means the executable is looking into another Saved Games subfolder. You definitely have another OperationDesertStorm folder somewhere else, and that one is automatically created by the executable, hence it's empty and brings up vanilla SF2. I already proposed a solution in my previous post for this. Do not overthink it. Again, that Module data is not necessary, it's right to be so.
  18. The installer automatically installs the mod folder in the Saved Games folder of your Windows OS. It works just like usual SF2 mod folders. If it brings up vanilla SF2, it means it's looking at the wrong path/disk letter, and creates an empty OperationDesertStorm mod folder where it's meant to be. Find the real mod folder (it should be 15GB or so in size), open the Options.ini file and check the path it references. The guy you quoted actually solved it, this is his message: Hopefully this is your case, and it's just a matter of moving the mod folder in its entirety where it should be. I have no clue as to why this happens and I cannot debug such occurrences since I cannot replicate them on my end where it all works fine. I believe this is more an issue with Windows itself, because the installer should point to the real Saved Games folder. If another one is created, it could be due to issues gently offered by MS.
  19. Of course you can. You probably missed my nations expansion package which fixes stock SF2 bugs with few nations and adds missing ones. If you wish to edit start and end dates, it's all clear and open inside the global nations.ini file.
  20. Mod package has been updated to Version 1.3; worthy improvements and additions, read the change log for further details.
  21. Previous version apparently allowed it. I just noticed this is no longer the case for the latest installer. All I can suggest at this stage is that you remove Strike Fighters 2 fully with Revo Uninstaller, so that all registry keys of SF2 are removed. A clean installation on the SSD should work okay then, the ODS installer would find the new SF2 folder automatically. I will try to update the package with a corrected installer in the coming days if possible.
  22. It seems your operating system has no priviliged access to the folder where you have installed SF2. Make sure to point the installation path to your newly installed SF2 directory (thus on your SSD). Try to execute the ODS installer as administrator in your Windows OS, and make sure that any anti-virus software you may have is not interfering with the installer itself. I cannot think of anything else, a hundred of users had no issues with the installer, it appears to be working as intended.
  23. Nothing to do with our mod, nor with Strike Fighters 2. The faulting module is part of the Nvidia drivers, so it's most likely an issue with Nvidia video drivers. Reinstall and/or update Nvidia drivers to the latest version. My system is an incredibly old Pentium Dual-Core 2.7 GHz, with a low-end Nvidia GeForce 710. No crashes ever experienced on my end, just very long loading times on Unlimited settings. The mod itself is incredibly stable; it was tested rather extensively, we do our best not to release anything broken. Any crashes are mostly dependant on the system of the end-user. Use third-party softwares such as Driver Booster to keep hardware drivers updated.
  24. The F-15E is tasked with defensive CAS over that staging base, so they aim at the Iraqi forces. If they hit a friendly target, nothing we can do. In the bigger picture, I think there are more important things to worry about.
  25. @torno Indeed, that is frustrating. Now we know for a fact there is a limit, you've just hit it, it seems. Your best chance is to remove entries to specific tiles for inland areas and use more generic ones where possible. That way you could find space for coastline tiles which are a must to the impressive work you're doing.
