STOVL not withstanding, thrust verctoring for CTOL aircraft is primarily useful in areas such as post stall recovery and improved agility although there is speculation on whether or not it allows a stealthy aircraft to keep it's low observable characteristics as flaps, airbrakes etc change the physical characteristic of the vehicle. Some aircaft have slightly larger radar returns because of this and some thrust vectoring development is investigating to see what effects navigational vectoring (navigating without the use of flaps, rudders, etc) will have on reducing radar signature. The critics suggest this is a waste of time as radar absorbing materials (RAM) can dampen these changes and that the days of the knife fight are numbered thanks to advanced BVR missiles. But this last argument is a croc!

Yeah, ignore the nay sayers of a product that han't even been released yet. What do they know about this game that the rest of us don't? Nothing, that's what! It is good to see that fans of a genre get together in support of said genre, but to pick away at something that isn't even out is pretty stoopid...

Aren't these the guys who produced the Magazine called CVG or CV&G throughout the nineties who were supposedly "edgy", "hardcore" gamers who were "in tune" with the youth, but in reality, had little connection to anyone other than the "edgy", "hardcore" 8-12 yr old demographic and were therefore axed? I hear it was flagging sales of the magazine and their lack of professionalism in reviews that sounded their deathknell (and their partner magazine just completely crapped on them in terms of sales and credibility) Good to see they're keeping their traditions alive

Despite having had a yankee g/f at one point, she never explained this holiday properly to me. She made it sound like a dress rehersal for Xmas (minus the pressies). What is it, other than knocking yourself out on loads of turkey?

Don't you love it when celebs explode on stage?!
SayethWhaaaa replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in The Pub
It's kinda like the bad smell principal for me. You know, you smell something truly awful, you turn away in disgust... but then you sniff again just to make sure your senses weren't screwing with you, but it really is awful and again you turn away in disgust... but you have to sniff again(and so on...). This is how the footage was for me, i couldn't believe I was seeing someone losing it on stage in such a way. I mean I've seen comedians lose it on stage before at hecklers because, lets face it, hecklers can be total arseholes, but this was way, way overboard! Or a really good impersonation of an Af-Am hating Mel Gibson, I dunno. I mean if he was going to do a Mark Foley and chicken out of the responsibility and blame it on a scapegoat like drugs or something, I would have bought it maybe. Maybe not, Either way, more than I bought Foley's weak alcohol excuse. Still, there was no excuse for his crap... -
Did anyone else see Kramer? Did it spin you out seeing him go batsh*t crazy in stage?

How are you flying it? If you're making your way through the waypoints, you shouldn't need the burners as the Talon is supercruise capable. If you throttle up to the threshold just before the burners ignite (usually around 69%-75% thrust, 80% for the strike eagle) you should cruise at something like Mach 1.5ish.

No wuckin forries!

Cheers, yeah I'm not sure what's going on here... But it can also be grabbed from here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?act=S...st=0#entry58932

View File Skyblue Mig-25/Flanker Schemes Here are a pair of skins for Column5's sweet Foxbat. The only differences are the nose and fins. I tried to give it the feel of a Flanker scheme. Big thanks to Sundowner for the original skin (from which this was made) and to Capun and the Column5 team for the model. Cheers. Eventually I'll get it to upload into the Downloads section...

Here's the address for the crew who developed it. This is the second version but the skins should work fine with it. http://www.zur-tech.com/ I was sure there was one here on CA but I can't seem to find it either...
-
Either way, still fugly but it's A-6 fugly so you know it would have been good...
-
It would be good but I wouldn't hold my breath. You'll see the F-35 long before the F-32. It'd be a shame, I reckon it'd be a good ride. To the Best of my knowledge, the only game I've seen the X-32 in was Ace Combat 3 under the designation F/A-32 Ernie ( I guess coz the F-35 Bert lost out in that alternate future ) As for the F-22 model, check out the W.I.P. links in the WoE/WoV/Project-1 Mods & Skinning Chat Here's a headstart: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=12557

Some people shouldn't have access to the internet...

Nah... The more fanatical parents groups here also believe Battlefield and so on are training the future columbine killers. The funniest part about all this is that it WAS a piss take site, except... The irony was lost on the number of increasingly fanatical contributors and bloggers associated with the site, including various church and family groups, so the site was shut down. I added the link about "Hackers" only because back in February(I think it was Feb), a member of the Senate here in Oz, one Senator Stephen Fielding(Nutjob--Family First Party), when commenting on a need to introduce tougher policing of the internet and parental supervision, quoted this source word for word in places, about the dangers of the internet and videogames. It was pretty entertaining as it marked the beginning of the "Rightwing Nutjob" era of Australian politics. You see, until now, the political spectrum has been Moderates on one end and conservatives on the other (We've never really entertained "radicals" since the Communist party was outlawed). Now we too have Nutjobs! I have to say though, it was entertaining watching this on Question Time (The televised sitting of parliament), particularly when Senator Fielding (N-FF)made the reference to Linux being devolped by a former Soviet software engineer. Even the Coalition senators (The conservatives here) were shaking their heads in embarrassment... -
Well, for starters, it's taking a while for the baseline Su-27 model to be released. But once it is released, you can count on there being a bunch of mods or variants being released afterwards. What you'll find here is that a lot of the modders are predominantly American or favour American aircraft. Still , there's a tonne of good stuff out there as well as in development but these guys have a lot on their plates in reality which has to take priority over their mod making. I sympathise because I can't wait for a Flanker. I love the Su-35/37 and believe it (technically) craps upon just about every other airframe out there in production at the moment (expect of course, the F-22 and EF2K) but that's just my personal opinion and taste IS subjective. I think there's a photo on this thread here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=12121 I can't remember.

Thanks, I'll give it a go shortly. I've had a few problems with this site (amongst a few others) but I think it's ISP related. They've been upgrading the lines here and service hasn't been the best. It's been mostly connection issues or freezing (ie I repeatedly click on a link that'll load 1 in 5 attempts for example). Wish I had wireless...

I got permission from Capun on the condition that I gave due credit to Sundowner (I can't seem to get in contact with him) but for some reason, it hardly ever allows me to upload there. I nearly always get: The error returned was: Sorry, you do not have permission to start a topic in this forum. Is it possible to have this thread moved there?

Only the F-23 has been released. The others are all in development. The Foxhound is probably the closest to an actual release. I mean, if you just scroll down a little from this thread, you'll see the section on the Mig-31.

Uh... Have you had a look for it? It ain't hard to find. Look in the downloads section.

The scary thing is that I've seen parent groups site this article as guide for parents looking to 'curb' their children's internet usage. I personally like the 9th point, where he describes ravers as being hackers. I'm a raver and I know jack about programing. I do know how to bounce around with glowsticks like a moron though!
