  4. Still awaiting the iOS version of Afterburner myself to try it - would make sense to include adverts for the PC games though -that would be great marketing for TW - the mobile market with PC functionality has come at the right time - billions of devices and new free business model -1.2 million downloads already says it all. A predictable post IMO: The mobile market is where the money is - so thats where all development will be going. Future PC games and probably new patches for SF2 will turn it more like the mobile games Modding will be removed/limited EXP3? - if it comes out might turn your sim into something you wont like (would have to see) I cant complain really - and no one else can - there is a lot missing and the new terrain needs fixing - but they have provided a lot over the years including many personal requests. I would say RIP to the PC version we currently know - and on the bright side at least you wont have to worry about mods being broken by patches.
  5. Few photos on here as well http://www.iranmilitaryforum.net/air-forces/iriaf-f-14/ The colour changes depending on photo quality and lighting normally so sometimes difficult to use photos for colouring.
  6. Ace - the moneys rolling in for 3D models then I presume
  7. Thats the reality - can we only detect objects over a certain size - or do we just pick up things through luck? For anyone dreaming of space exploration - someone needs to put up the money ! - previous funds like moon landings were devoted mainly due to the Cold War effort I imagine. Lets hope the affected recover okay - and that it missed the nuclear power plant
  8. luckily this one seems to have just taken out windows!
  9. Did you reformat it or are we talking a Windows only restore? - if it was only a windows restore might be worth looking for your old profile folder
  10. Ha cool video Another example from http://www.dote.osd.mil/pub/reports/FY2012/pdf/navy/2012fa18ef.pdf DOT&E reported on APG-79 radar IOT&E in FY07, assessing it as not operationally effective or suitable due to significant deficiencies in tactical performance, reliability, and BIT functionality. In the civilian world though no software gets sold in a finished state - no ones got the time or money to test it properly without going out of business - its far to complex for us humans. The Eurofighter is seemingly no where near getting the avionics its supposed to - still should be used to that - wasnt the Lightning F6 stuck with the same crappy 1960s pulse radar till 86? want to hazard a guess at when the F-35 will be in a working state :)
  11. Taking the piss out of all politicians and making them look like retards (not difficult) has been mainstream TV for about 30 years over here - Spitting Image, The New Statesman, Yes prime Minister to name a few - its called political satire generally.
  12. Pictures have emerged of its first test flight
  13. Not that excited myself - I relegated my MiG-25s to RARE status in SF2E because in the 70s because it makes the game to easy :)
  14. Ha - in an 80s video for the F-16 it has the quote "Disproving the adage that high tech doesn't fly" - Im guessing it got a lot of stick back in the 70s as well. The F-35B should be called the Super Harrier III - its the holy grail of Harriers - M1.5, stealth, 2 times the range, far superior payload, 100 times easy to fly - for the Harrier its an upgrade beyond dreams. Max stores load F-35B = 15,000 lbs AV-8B = 4,630 lbs Internal Fuel F-35B = 2,014 US Gal AV-8B = 1,141 US Gal Max Combat Speed F-35B = M1.5 AV-8B = M0.8
  15. Ha - Hot Shots 1 for me - "Roger That milli vanilli chilli willi" for hollywood Blackadder goes fourth for TV - still funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nezEfrpO-jk
  16. If you mean they fly straight and ignore you they are probably on bingo fuel - the SF2 AI will fly an evasion profile - but then again the SF2 AI is too unrealistic in that it seems to know where you are the whole time - to make it more gamey I guess.
  17. You will find that the limits normally refer to sustained G - and the amount of G specified in design and what its been tested to. Most airframes can take way over the stated limits but for very short periods ( instantaneous G) - ie pull 11Gs for more than 2 seconds and very bad things start to happen - this will vary with airframe - but typical accounts of over G (such as engines coming out of mountings in F-4s) don't bode well. Also taking airframe life time into account a lot of Gs on the F-16Ns didnt do them much good - look how quickly they were pulled out of service and thats with an actual 9G rated frame and a FLCS limiter - only 10 years: http://www.f-16.net/..._article22.html
  18. I think I will let them dream for a bit - things have been tough! The Video has been released of Armadinnerjacket going into space http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=asYuEC6hK_w
  19. Nice one thanks
  20. haha Yes the F414-GE-400 engines are listed in the manual - although the M2.25 is the peak on the chart at 36,000 ft - it should be M1.0 around 11,000ft - still not too bad. Is anything using the EPE engines yet I cant find any ref to them?
  21. You dont say Yeah Ive got a high res picture of that - the Airpseed goes up to 300 - redlines about 260 - no indication given of the units - must be WARP Still with that many radios the pilot (aka dwarf) will at least have something to zip along to music wise - I wonder if they were planning to put the monkey from the space trip in it (if it had survived) Actually - with no HUD present I would assume that the white helmet is in fact the worlds most advanced HMCS - not even a single bulge to show - amazing these guys!
  22. Well if we are comparing the 2 - wonder how fast that flying SAM site is in an intercept profile? According to the FA-18EF manual with 5 x AIM-120s and 2 x AIM-9s and a TFLIR it can reach M1.25 top end The F-14D manual however shows that with 4 x AIM-54, 2 x AIM-7 and 2 x AIM-9 it could get to M1.85 - and could carry more internal fuel - now thats impressive!
  23. Check out this forum for a laugh: http://www.iranmilitaryforum.net/air-forces/'ghaher-313'-newest-iranian-fighter-aircraft-will-be-unveiled-tomorrow/
  24. Straight to video for this one - Tactical Assault http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0127917/ Just painful to watch
