Joystick and Keyboard Do Not Work in Game
wasteboy posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have a problem I think is different from others described. I recently got a new Dell Alienware laptop described below. Because the SF2 files I moved from my old computer did not work on the new one I just purchased direct from Thirdwire, downloaded and installed the SF-2 Complete ($99.99). The game when running does not recognize input from either the keyboard or the joystick. When I start in Options and go to Controls it lets me input changes to the joystick to use the slider for rudder control and the throttle lever for throttle control. So it recognizes input from the joystick and keyboard there. However, when I go to fly in a game either "Instant Action" or "Single Mission" it opens in the air or on the runway but does not respond to either the keyboard or joystick. That includes ESC - the only way I can get out is to employ Task Manager and end the task. I know the joystick works because it does in both DCS and Microsoft Flight Simulator. So the computer should likewise be adequate. The game continues to work fine on the previous computer - it's specs are listed below also. I have tried several total uninstalls and reinstalls, shut downs and restarts etc. and everything I have found on this forum but nothing works so far. What can I do????? The computer specifics are: Dell/Alienware Alienware x17 R2 Windows 11 Home 64 bit Disk drive: NVMe PC SN810 NVME WDC1024GB Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900H 2.50 GHz Ram: 16.384GB (15.7 GB usable) DirectX Version: DirectX 12 Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X The previous computer: Dell Inspiron G3 3579 Windows 11 Home version 22H2 Intel i7-8750H CPU@ 2.20Ghz 16.0 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti -
Saitek X52 (Non Pro), Unable to configure HOTAS throttle/stick
Thunderone posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hi, I have been playing Strike Fighters 2 since past few years using a Keyboard. But I recently borrowed a HOTAS from a friend who wasn't using it anymore. After installing the latest driver in my PC, the HOTAS identified by the game as well (Strike Fighters 2 full package, updated till March 2012). However, I am confused when it comes to setting up the controls. The buttons on the HOTAS are very well functioning (after adding via SF2 Key Mapping menu), but the game is not recieving any input from Throttle and Stick at all. Both systems are fine, no issues as Logitech Software also acknowledges the throttle and stick movement. So can somebody please help me out in fixing this issue? Thank You-

MOUSE CONTROL?
JamesWilson posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask you if there is any way to fly the plane with mouse as yoke (just like War Thunder) in SF2 or SFP1 I know it's way better to fly it with a joystick, and that it's perfectly playable with arrow keys, but that's something i just wanted to know about. Let me know if there is any way to set this as yoke command. Thank you very much -

Custom Joystick Customization in Options/Controls Menu
wasteboy posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I've been away from SF2 for about 6 months or so and started flying again today. I wanted to tweak a few controls on my Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X unit as I have done in the past. When I go to the "Options/Control" and then "Customize" screen it only gives me the option of makeing changes to the keyboard. On the Control screen it recognizes the Thrustmaster but in the Customize area there is no way I can find to make button assignments on the controller. The previously customized control file is still there. I get the same results on Viet Nam, Korea, Desert Storm and North Atlantic. All previously worked. Thoughts and help please!!!!!! -
Well today my Microsoft SideWinder Precision 2 Joystick that I have had for, I think, fifteen years seems to have finally died on me. I was testing some aircraft data file and weapons mods in SF2. The instant my test mission finished loading the aircraft went into an uncommanded role to the right and I was forced to Ctrl-Alt-Del out of the game. After that the game did not recognize the joystick which prompted me to check windows which showed that the stick was not detected by the OS but the port I had the joystick plugged into detected a flash drive just fine. I have run the Windows Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and tried plugging the stick into multiple USB ports on three different computers to no effect. I don't know if it is the USB plug or an internal component that has failed. Any advice other than buying a new Joystick?

Luftwaffe joystick Knuppelgriff KG 13 repro WWII
Flying Colander posted a topic in Buy/Sell/Trade Corner
This is a Luftwaffe flight stick reproduced is resin and aluminium. It sports 5 completely wired buttons. The trigger springs up into a safety. The overall length is 65cm, about 25-26 inches long. The stick is perfect for a DIY flight stick project which I never managed to get to. I originally purchased the grip from a well-known German sim equipment maker. The stick has never been used. I have it up for sale on Ebay starting at $199 which could be a bargain for someone. However, I'm just looking to cover my original purchase price against a strong Euro. $325 and it's yours now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201438277421?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Am willing to cut the alu post to your specifications to reduce shipping costs. Actual shipping costs, no gouging. Pick up in Phoenix, AZ area welcome. Any questions? Please inquire. -
When it comes to us flight and space simmers we have been pretty much left out in the cold the last decade or so. Most companies have gone the console or racing sim/game route when it comes to accessories. Came across this because for over two years I have been looking for an alternative to the now defunct Joylock Clamp system. https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/151681/joystick-or-hotas-desk-mounting-hardware http://www.fanatec.com/us-en/shifter-accessories/clubsport-shifter-table-clamp-us.html 29.95 USD, not sure how much they charge for shipping, but looks like it holds some promise. The L-bracket is 21.95. http://www.altrider.com/rotopax-l-bracket/pid/398and sold by a different company. Before I got my current desk, the Ikea Fredde, I used of metal braces and L-shaped brackets to make a mount for my X65 HOTAS system. The brackets worked; but the system was fixed, the corners were sharp and dangerous, and it required drilling into the desk to mount it. Not sure what the shipping would be for the above clamps and for those in North America/The Americas, I believe these objects ship from Europe or the UK (not sure). More information and examples of use can be found on the Roberts Space Industries form (link above).

I didn't think my FFB joystick would work in WOV, but it does the only problem is I can't find a way to lower the tension for the x and y axis even after taking the joystick sensitivity down to nil still the stick is stiff and I mean stiff!! I know with other flight sims, I can tone it down by using a FFB editor, but I have to go in, in each game and find the FFB folder............but I can't seem to find this type of folder in WOV? Is there any way I can tone down the FFB in WOV and WOE? Thank you
