Razbam: South Atlantic

Interesting they have started this terrain....looks suspiciously like the Malvinas/Falklands although no sign of any of the aircraft that flew in that yet. So I guess chocks away in the Spitfire for a few years if it happens LOL -
Objets in Malvinas/Falkland mod

Hi everyone, I've a problem with this mod. I wanna simulate the actions of de 1 of mayo but can not modify the ships object in Estrecho de San Carlos (Falkland Sound) 'cause on that date they were not in that place. Is there a way to modify it?. Thxs -
This is one of the latest and recently released books in Osprey Publishing’s “Duel” series focusing primarily on two of the major aircraft types in the South Atlantic conflict of 1982. There is already quite a lot of very good information written by the people who were there on this subject, however what I really like about the Osprey series is they are short & very concise and this book brings a lot of previous information together in one place, as well as telling us a few new things. The two main authors are: Doug Dildy – A retired USAF colonel and former F-15 pilot who worked with SHARs operationally and in air-to-air training during his first NATO tour of duty. Dildy lives in Albuquerque, NM. Pablo Calcaterra - A Canadian citizen from Argentina. He is an avid and award winning aircraft modeller, with direct access to the Argentine Air Force archives and contact with many veterans of the conflict. Calcaterra lives in London, Ontario. Other notable contributions to the book include from the Argentine FAA: Brigadier Mayor Guillermo Donadille, Brigadiers Gustavo Piuma Justo, Carlos Perona, and Comodoros Raúl Díaz, Jorge Senn and Luis Puga. And from the British FAA SHAR Pilots: Cdr Nigel ‘Sharkey’ Ward, Lt Cdrs Mike ‘Soapy’ Watson and David Smith. The book covers in more detail: · The design and development of the Sea Harrier, Mirage IIIEA and the Dagger (Mirage V); · The exact weapons that were used by both in the conflict; · Looks at pilot training and some tactics from both sides; · A look at the overall Strategic situation of the conflict. The main section “Combat” looks at the engagements from both points of view but also includes the other aircraft and ships involved giving a good overview of the conflict. Lastly statistics and analysis of the conflict are looked at with some of the major points highlighted. We get a fairly balanced book from many view points, which is essential because looking at something from only a single point of view can never show us the big picture. Overall one of my favourites so far and recommended to anyone who wants a good overview of the sometimes-ferocious air war in the South Atlantic, because make no mistake, despite the short period the loss of life was sometimes horrific and I hope this only sheds more light on their bravery and sacrifice.

File Name: DH Osprey B.II File Submitter: Stratos File Submitted: 28 July 2017 File Category: What If Hangar De Havilland Osprey B.II by Cocas (what if...) 28/07/2017 Some time ago I requested some updates to the original Osprey by Cocas, a refuelling probe, airbrakes, antenna on the fuselage... cocas made the mod and I made a new skin for strategical use with the RAF in AntiFlash white. As the Osprey B.II does not differ wildly from the I, I retained the original readme and completed with some historical background. As the plane was never used on the desert being based only in UK and Germany, I not included the desert scheme, but the one in the original Osprey will work. For the Malvinas campaign, the green euro cammo should be used. Model by cocas, new antiflash white skin by Stratos on cocas template, decals by Spinners. Thanks a lot guys! Background: Following the exit of the first version of the new De Havilland bird, the RAF aproached De Havilland with a request for a improved variant with Strategic bombing as its designed mission. The requirements were clear, a better range, a refuelling probe and a long range communication radio. De Havilland felt it was pretty easy to complete the task, as the requested features were already imagined for the Osprey, and added another one, big air brakes on the wings. the refuelling probe was a bit more complicated, as it was tested first on the starboard wing, but it was hard to use in flying, specially in bad weather conditions, so a reuleing probe over the cockpit was installed and tested. It came with the risk of spilling gas on the cockpit glass, but simplified the refueling maneuvers a lot, so it was finally selected as the choosen one. The new communication array was based on a dorsal antenna and new radio equipment to be controlled by the copilot, as the plane retained the three man crew. Finally bigger fuel tanks were installed and the new brakes air tested, those brakes improved maneuvers and shortened the landing run quite a bit, and then the prototype was sent to the RAF for testing. Plane was well liked by its crews and the RAf operated 49 of the birs in the nuclear bomber role, both based on UK and in RAf stations in Germany. During the first years the Osprey B.II used the classic Anti Flash white scheme, before converting to a regular cammo scheme as it was seen in the Malvinas campaign before retirement. On the following pics, we can see a recently delivered Osprey B.II in anti flash white belonging to the squadron flying low over the Mach Loop in Wales, training for low level nuclear attack runs on Warsaw Pact targets. [Fictional] Hawker Hunter F.6M (Falklands)

View File [Fictional] Hawker Hunter F.6M (Falklands) Hawker Hunter F.6M for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 Requires SF2 DLC 001: Hunter F.6 (60) Royal Netherlands Air Force This is a very simple mod of the above to give a fictional Hunter F.6M in service with RAF South Atlantic Command with markings for No.1435 Flight. You will need to have the new 'DLC' Hunter as this mod will not work with any Hunter that isn't DLC 001 although you are welcome to reverse engineer it to suit what Hunter(s) you have in your install. BACKSTORY The introduction of the Lightning F.1 and F.1A into RAF Fighter Command in 1960 and 1961 began to free-up Hunter F.6's most of which were earmarked for conversion into ground-attack aircraft for the RAF (as the FGA.9) or for export. But the Falklands Crisis of May 1961 led to the decision to base a detachment of fighter aircraft at RAF Stanley and a batch of 8 Hawker Hunter F.6's were urgently converted into F.6M's a minimum-change conversion armed with the Firestreak missile and improved navigation and radio equipment. The first four Hunter F.6M's were dispatched as deck cargo arriving at Port Stanley in September 1961 to form No.1435 Flight who quickly christened the aircraft Faith, Hope, Charity and Desperation. The second batch of Hunters arrived in December 1961 but, with improving diplomatic relations, they were basically used to keep the original four aircraft airworthy until a rotation policy was adopted. The Hunter F.6M's served until 1972 when they were replaced by Lightning F.2A's. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterF6M folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterF6M folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 24/05/2020 Version 1 - 25/06/2011 Submitter Spinners Submitted 06/25/2011 Category What If Hangar -
