SPAD 16
By Stephen1918
The SPAD 16 was essentially a SPAD 11 with a more powerful Lorraine-Dietrich 240 hp engine. Although it was faster, the heavier engine made the SPAD 16 harder to handle and performance was slightly worse than the SPAD 11. Like the SPAD 11, it was armed with a forward firing Vickers gun and a Lewis gun on a ring mount for the observer. It could also carry a small bomb load under the wings.
The SPAD 16 entered service early in 1918. Several French squadrons were equipped with the SPAD 16 and a few were purchased by the US. It continued in service until the end of the war.
I have made two skins for the SPAD 16 - a French camo, and a USAS camo - each with appropriate squadron insignia. Most of the skins are identical to the SPAD 11 skins, only the Fuselage and Upper Right Wing skins are changed. My skinning templates are included in the download for those who want to make their own skins.
I did not have a sound file for the Lorraine-Dietrich engine, so I used the same sound as the SPAD 11.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the SPAD 16.
Thanks also to Nix for making the sound file for the Hispano-Suiza engine.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SPAD16" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. If you don't already have it installed, you also need to move the sound file "hispsuiz4M220.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SPAD16" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "SPAD16". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SPAD16 folder into the Decals/SPAD16 folder you just made. If you don't already have it installed, you also need to move the sound file "hispsuiz4M220.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

Anti-Slip FM for SE5a
By ShrikeHawk
Alternative FM for the default SE5a
07/30/07 by ShrikeHawk
I love flying the SE5a in a dogfight. So nimble and quick!
But...in slow-speed maneuvers and actions that require good
rudder control (i.e., landing, strafing) the plane is waaaayy
too squirrely. After rudder input the plane oscillates terribly
and it's very hard to keep the gunsight on target. Also, on
landing, the slideslip is extreme! The plane does not sink to
the ground as it should even when the engine is a 0%. At least
this is my experience.
So after endless tinkering, I finally have the SE5a flying the
way I expect it to. Now the plane lands much as the other
aircraft do. The landing requires more area but it is reasonable
now. It still responds a lot to yaw input, although moderately,
but will not oscillate at all after counter rudder input.
You can actually hold the gunsight on target with minimal effort.
This mod addresses other concerns than what peter01 is doing with
his alternative FMs. But when he posts it, I would highly
recommend using his FM. If you want to use this mod "and" peter01's
at the same time, please PM me and I will post a combination.
p.s. Thanks to Peter01 for the tip about the cnb parameter. That was
the last bit of info I was looking for.

Albatros W.4 (Early)
By Stephen1918
The Albatros W.4 was a float plane version of the D.II. It used the same fuselage, engine, and armament as the D.II, but had a wider wingspan and tail. The W.4 was used for recon and spotting missions in the North Sea, the Baltic, and by Austria-Hungary in the Adriatic Sea.
I have made an early version of the W.4 with the radiators mounted on the sides of the fuselage. I have included a complete set of number decals, and three skins - a basic wood and linen skin for Germany, one for Austria-Hungary, and an early hex camo skin. I have also included my skinning templates. The skins for the early Albatros W.4 are interchangeable with the late version skins.
My version includes a loadout for a light bomb load, even though the W.4 was not used for bombing. You can delete the loadout file if you want more historical accuracy.
Since it's a float plane, the W.4 works best in the Flanders, Gibraltar or other terrain that has a lot of water. The plane will actually take off and land from a conventional airfield, but it looks strange to see the floats going under the ground. It would be best to start the missions in the air. The plane will show up occasionally parked on an airfield, but its availability is listed as "Rare" so it shouldn't happen too often.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Albatros W.4.
Thanks to Nix for providing the sound for the Mercedes engine.
And thanks to Quack74 for giving me the idea for a float plane.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AlbatrosW4" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AlbatrosW4" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "AlbatrosW4". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/AlbatrosW4 folder into the Decals/AlbatrosW4 folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

Phönix D.IIa
By Stephen1918
The Phönix D.IIa was the same as the D.II but with a more powerful 230 hp Hiero engine, which gave it better speed and better climbing ability.
My model of the D.IIa is based on my model of the D.II but with a different engine - which means all new .LOD files as well as a new cockpit (the engine is part of the cockpit in this model.) I have made a slightly different skin, new decals, and ojcar has made a different FM, so this is a completely new plane. (You do NOT need the D.II in order to install this plane.)
The skins and decals are interchangeable with the D.II.
I have included a set of letter decals so you can set flight letters in the Loadout screen, or the game will randomly assign a different letter to each plane.
The skinning templates are identical to the D.II, but I have included them here anyway. I have also included my .OUT files for the benefit of future modders.
Credits
My thanks to ojcar, who created the FM to capture the improved power and performance of this excellent Austro-Hungarian fighter.
Installation instructions:
For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "PhoenixD2a" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder.
For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "PhoenixD2a" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "PhoenixD2a". Move the folder named "D" from the Airplanes/PhoenixD2a folder into the Decals/PhoenixD2a folder you just made.

feel free to fart about with the bits n bobs
this is the re-engined version with extended ailerons
I found half a dozen different versions of this aircraft all described as the DIII
most don't fit the statistical descriptions ..but the photos show the extended ailerons larger wheels,
and the engine with a side mounted exhaust sytem running back along the side of the fuselage
and the DII centre section strut configuration with an additional set sloping forward over the engine bay etc...
so here it is....marginally faster and marginally better aileron response..

FE1 & FE2 FMs BristolM1C- FE8-FokD8-Schuckert
By peter01
FMs for either FE1 or FE2.
I knew I had these somewhere, and found them on a backup drive. They were done last December. Just refined, tweaked and tested them a bit, and ... they are ready to fly.
New FMs for the Bristol M1C, Fe8, Fokker D8, Schuckert D3.
The Bristol M1C is very nice, has a new gun, and is equal in capability to my Albatros D3.
The FE8 has a couple of issues - on takeoff, stalls - but still nice, and in capability about the equal to my Halberstadt D3.
The Fokker D8 is the nicest FM I have done for this plane, it is very capable, about the equal to my Camels. Snipes vs Fokker D8s are fun.
The Schuckert D3 is a little less capable than the Fokker D8.
IMPORTANT
=========
For FE1 you must have installed the FE1 game files from "108 FE1 and/or FE2 FMs March 2010" in the Flight Models download section here. 108 FE1 and/or FE2 FMs March 2010
For FE2 you must have installed the FE2 game files "REALLY FIXED FE2 Game Files and 4 FE2 FMs 2010" in the Flight Models download section here. REALLY FIXED FE2 Game Files and 4 FE2 FMs 2010
INSTALLATION
============
1) I recommend you backup the folders of the above aircraft before installing.
2) Place all the files from this download into the corresponding aircraft directories.
Have fun.

Sopwith Baby
By Stephen1918
The Sopwith Baby was a British, single seat float plane used for reconnaissance and light bombing. It was built in fairly large numbers and was used by the British, French, Italian, Australian, Canadian, and American navies.
My version carries a Lewis machine gun on the upper wing and a has a loadout for a light bomb load. Some Babys had a Lewis gun mounted at an angle through the upper wing and some had a synchronized Lewis mounted on the fuselage, but the horizontal upper wing mount seems to have been the most common.
Since it's a float plane, the Sopwith Baby works best in the Flanders, Gibraltar or other terrain that has a lot of water. Ojcar has done a great job making this plane take off and land realistically on water.
The plane will actually take off and land from a conventional airfield, but it looks strange to see the floats going under the ground. It would be best to start the missions in the air.
I have included two skins, a generic olive skin for France and Britain, and an Italian linen skin. A full set of decals are included with Italian insignia and (fictitious) serial numbers. My skinning templates are included with the download.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Sopwith Baby.
Thanks to Nix for providing the sound for the engine.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithBaby" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "clerget9b2m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithBaby" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "SopwithBaby". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SopwithBaby folder into the Decals/SopwithBaby folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "clerget9b2m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

Nieuport 24 Lewis

Nieport 24 Lewis v1.0 with 1 overhead Lewis and cockpit
Original N24 3D Model and clean skins by EmlD
FM by peter01
Ini file modification to N24_Lewis by Panama Red
29th Sqn. Skins and Decals by quack74
LeRhone9jb Sound by Nix
Testing by ojcar
This N24_Lewis was created so ojcar could use it in his FE2 Campaign Series.
The real RFC Nieuport 24 Lewis had a very short career on the Western Front before transfering to the Middle Eastern Front. Basicaly only one RFC squadron used it for any length of time on the Western Front, and that was the 29th Squadron from Nov 1917 to Feb 1918.
As a result, quack74 created this set of unique decals for all three flights of the RFC 29th Squadron. Included are two sets of skins, the default "dirty" set, and an alternate "clean" set for those who want a difference.
To install this package, do the following:
FE1:
Install the N24_Lewis folder to your
.../Aircrafts directory
Install LeRhone9jb.wav to Sounds directory
Install Gunsite01 into WeaponData.Dat
FE2:
Install the N24_Lewis folder to your
.../Aircrafts directory
Install N24_Lewis decals folder to your
.../Decals directory
Install LeRhone9jb.wav to Sounds directory
Install Gunsite01 folder into Weapons directory

Taube (grenade armed)
This version of the Taube is armed with a handful of grenades instead of a rifle. many thanks to all the people who worked on the original Taube and a special thanks to Stephen1918 who was kind enough to make time to alter his model to remove the gunner. All work on this is really the efforts of others and my only contribution was to bundle it up. Any issues please direct to me and I'll do my best to fix them as soon as I can.

Anatra D "Anade"
By Stephen1918
The Anatra D was a predecessor to the Anatra DS. It was powered by a Gnome rotary engine and armed with a single machine gun for the observer. The Anatra D was used mostly for reconnaissance, but also as a fighter and light bomber. After overcoming some initial design problems, it entered service in May, 1916 and was produced in relatively large numbers. Many of them survived the war and were used in the fighting in Eastern Europe after the end of World War I.
I have included two skins, a plain linen and a grey paint. A full set of number decals and a loadout for light bombs are included. I have also included my skinning templates for those who wish to make their own skins.
Credits:
My thanks to Ojcar once again for making the excellent data.ini for this plane.
My thanks also to Crowford who provided valuable reference material for the Anatra D.
Installation instructions:
For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AnatraD" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AnatraD" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "AnatraD". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/AnatraD folder into the Decals/AnatraD folder you just made.

Siemens-Schuckert D.I
By Stephen1918
The German Siemens-Schuckert D.I was a direct copy of captured Nieuport 17s. The most important difference was in the engine. The Siemens Schuckert Werke (SSW) D.I used a geared Siemens-Halske Sh.I engine which produced 1800rpm. The spinner nose and open bottom cowling were necessary to help cool the engine. A bigger prop required a taller landing gear.
Problems with engine production delayed the release of the SSW D.I. The Albatros D.III was already available by the time the SSW reached the front. The Albatros was a much superior plane, and was less likely to be mistaken for a French plane. The SSW D.I only served for a short time on the Western Front, they served longer on the Eastern front.
My Siemens-Schuckert D.I includes a three color camo skin, a full set of number decals, a fully functional cockpit, and damage nodes for the wings. My skinning templates and a sound file for the engine are included in the download.
Historical Notes:
I do not have a sound file for the Siemens-Halske Sh.I engine, I am using Nixou's sound for the Le Rhône 110 hp engine instead.
Credits:

Fokker DII
By Trotski
Fokker DII
A revamp of Stephen 1918's Glorious Fokker D II , I have re done the original 3 skins as I thought the aluminum cowl needed to be lightened up somewhat, and the panels on the cowlings needed a slight tweak. So I have re done the original ones supplied by Stephen, I have also made alternative versions of thos 3 aircraft with painted cowlings, and white bandage markings for the Maltese crosses, I also made one skin in Clear dope, for those of you who like CDL aircraft, it appears that the DII was usually painted , so a doped aircraft was rare, I also did 2 separate aircraft from Kesta 4b one with a black and whirte striped rear fuselage, and the other one was just white, also was not a named aircraft. and lastly I did an aircraft from Kesta 16 with a rather natty eyeball marking and the fuselage over painted with paint smears.
I have also included the FM by Von S , along with the early spandau, and finally one of Geezers smashing pilots. sounds decals, and hangar screens are all included or at least they should be.
I hope I have included everyone who I am supposed to give credit to, if I have missed anyone out I heartilly apologise, and thank you whomsoever ye may be.
You may also notice that I have applied little or no weathering to these skins, that is basically because although these aircraft got very dirty very quickly, I much prefer the model to be shown in "airshow" condition, so if you want weathering, please feel free to add your own to taste, myself, I like 'em looking clean.

Sopwith Tabloid (Late)
By Stephen1918
The Tabloid was the land based variant of the Schneider developed in 1913. It was quickly adopted by the British military and was used both by the Royal Navy and the Royal Flying Corps. Later versions had ailerons on both wings and a larger vertical stabilizer on the tail. Most were armed with Lewis guns on the upper wing and could carry small bomb loads. The Tabloid was used mostly for recon and light bombing missions. I have included my skinning templates and a full set of number decals.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Sopwith Tabloid and for providing input on the model details.
Thanks also to Nix for creating the sound file for the Gnome 100hp engine.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithTabloidLate" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "gnome100m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithTabloidLate" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "SopwithTabloidLate". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SopwithTabloidLate folder into the Decals/SopwithTabloidLate folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "gnome100m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

QUICK START FMs and Campaigns for Oct 2007 Version EP ONLY
By peter01
UPDATE: 3rd September
Se5a, Spad13, FokkerDr1 FMs changed.
For the Fokker Dr1, there are two alternative FMs, TKs with AI changes and mine. Default is mine... its your choice. There are backups of each version in the folder hopefully clearly named so you can delete default and copy another to pick and choose.
=======================================================================
This pack only updates the stock plane FMs. Its meant to be a very QUICK START to a modded game. It does change the game considerably, and also includes Le Prieur Rockets and AI only planes made flyable.
If you like this, and want to then add other aircraft and FMs that work properly with the Expansion Pack Oct 2007 version then download the "FULL SET FMs and Campaigns for Oct 2007 Version EP ONLY", and add plane packages and FMs, manually and individually.
The FMs are done for Hard FM Mode. They will not work well, or as designed at all in Normal or Easy Mode (Flight Models are completely different and inconsistent).Actually, they are designed for hard everything, including Hard Enemy Skill Level in the Gameplay Options. However, if you find the AI too hard or too easy, see 5) AI Difficulty Setting.
IMPORTANT: These are ONLY for the Unpatched Expansion Pack - October 2007. They will not work well at all with the April 2008 patch nor will they work mixed with stock FMs.
Installation is very simple and quick, maybe 10 mins for everything.
1) Do a clean install of the the original FE (no need to apply patches), then install the paid for Oct 2007 Expansion Pack. DO NOT install any EP patches at all.
2) Extract this zip file to a temp folder, and move or copy all the folders of the extracted zip to your newly installed main First Eagles directory, and when prompted, click yes to overwrite existing files.
3) Go into the game, set all options to Hard (its designed for Hard), and...fly.
Thats it!!!
There is a comprehensive readme (there are many changes to the stock game), and consists of the following sections:
1) Introduction
2) The FMs
3) Additional Changes to FMs
4) Extras
5) AI Difficulty Setting
6) The Campaigns

M-Ms conversion of Borts Fokker EIII
By MOUNTAIN-MAN
This is a conversion of Bortdafarms early Fokker EIII, he has given me permission, publicly on his blog site, to modify and resubmit this file as a Fokker EI. This is not just another EIII conversion as Borts early EIII, was the exact size of the original EI, one of which I just happened to save. Slowed her down appropriately, painted it in researched period correct colors and we now have a genuine historicaly correct Fokker EI. Many thanks to Bort for the priveledge of allowing me to share his wonderful aircraft with you all........Thanks to Sinbad for his great early decals....peter01 for his FM...and DM for the help & support.....READ THE README!!!

Farman F.30
By Stephen1918
Russia was the only country that used the French designed Farman F.30. While no other allies adopted it, the F.30 was the primary plane of the Imperial Russian Air Service and the Russians built about 400 of them at the Dux factory near Moscow beginning in 1915. It was used throughout WWI and was used by both sides during the Russian Civil Wars.
The Farman F.30 was powered my a Salmson 150hp water-cooled engine, had a single machine gun for the observer, and was said to be able to maneuver as well as the Eindeckers it faced. It was a general purpose plane, used originally as a fighter, and later for recon, artillery spotting, and light bomber missions.
My plane includes a loadout for a light bomb load. Decals and my skinning templates are included in the download.
I have included ojcar's "DummyMachineGun" data, Peter01's Lewis Machine Gun data in the download.
Warning
The Farman F.30 has a wider wingspan than First Eagles expects so you should install my "Airfields for Large Planes" available in the Combat Ace downloads area. Otherwise, when starting on the runway, your wings may be touching the wings of the planes next to you. This will cause an immediate collision and you or other planes in your flight may lose their wingtips as soon as the game starts.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Farman F.30 and for making the data for the dummy machine gun.
Thanks also to Peter01 who made the data for the Lewis Gun.
Thanks also to Crowford who provided resources for the Farman cockpits.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file. Move the folder named "FarmanF30" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file. Move the folder named "FarmanF30" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "FarmanF30". Move the folder named "D" from your Aircraft/FarmanF30 folder into the Decals/FarmanF30 folder you just made.
You may not need to install the guns, they have been used on other planes and you may already have them. Instructions for installing the guns, if you should need them, are in a separate file included in this download.

Sopwith Schneider
By Stephen1918
The Sopwith Schneider was the floatplane variant of the Tabloid, and won the Schneider racing trophy in 1914. It was quickly adopted by the British military and was used by the Royal Navy throughout the war. Early versions used wing warping instead of ailerons. Some were armed with Lewis guns on the upper wing and could carry small bomb loads. The Schneider was used mostly for recon, some were used to intercept Zeppelins over the North Sea and some were used to attack land based targets.
Since it's a float plane, the Sopwith Schneider works best in the North Sea terrain, or in Flanders, Gibraltar or other terrain that has a lot of water. The plane will actually take off and land from a conventional airfield, but it looks strange to see the floats going under the ground. Ojcar has included take off instructions in a separate text file.
I have created two skins, an early version with the British flag on the wings, and a later version with roundel markings. I have included a set of number decals. My skinning templates are included with the download.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Sopwith Schneider and for providing instructions for taking off.
Thanks also to Nix for creating the sound file for the Gnome 100hp engine.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithSchneider" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "gnome100m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithSchneider" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "SopwithSchneider". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SopwithSchneider folder into the Decals/SopwithSchneider folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "gnome100m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
