Falcon1364 Posted Sunday at 03:37 PM Posted Sunday at 03:37 PM Hi Simonmiller416, Thanks a lot for your mod. I downloaded this; however, the missile system does not function. Do you have any solution for this? 1 Quote
Falcon1364 Posted Tuesday at 02:46 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:46 PM Hi Simonmiller416, When I add this missile battery, the only thing that appears in the game is the missile launcher. No radar seems to be associated with it. Can you please take a look at this issue? Quote
+EricJ Posted Tuesday at 03:00 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:00 PM Should be one of the MPQ radars, as listed above to make it shoot. Quote

Perhaps posting the terrain you are running on would be helpful Quote
Falcon1364 Posted Tuesday at 03:10 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:10 PM Thank you for your message. I have used the Vietnam terrain (South Asia). However, the same issue occurs in other terrains, too. Quote

It's normal, all vanilla terrains of Strike Fighters 2 don't feature target areas for Blue Side SAMs. You need to test the launchers on custom third-party terrains featuring support for Blue Side SAM target areas. The game randomly decides which SAMs to spawn depending on the nations allowed for a terrain, year of the mission, and other factors. Nothing wrong with the mod by @simonmiller416, it should work as intended on some third-party terrains. 1 Quote
Falcon1364 Posted Tuesday at 04:03 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:03 PM The radars do not appear separately to be added to the site. I did look for them very closely, but I was not able to find any. Quote

SAM systems are placed by the game automatically based on targets.ini. The Targets.ini file that is placed within the terrain folder contains coordinates that will place the whole SAM system during the game. If terrain.ini contains SAM_launcher, SAM_radar and ewr entries SAMs during the game will be placed properly and will work properly. Placing via the mission editor will cause only frustration. 1 Quote
+simonmiller416 Posted Tuesday at 04:18 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:18 PM (edited) Now I get it,"add" means you were adding launchers in mission editor by yourself. Radars will not generated just because you "add" an launchers. So what you should look for in the editor are these:"AN/MPQ-53 PAC-2", "AN/MPQ-65A PAC-2", "AN/MPQ-65A PAC-3". But ,yeah, as yakarov79 said, you should not. Just leave it to game engine. Edited Tuesday at 04:20 PM by simonmiller416 Quote
Falcon1364 Posted Tuesday at 04:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:18 PM I have tested it on all of my terrains. However, it still does not work. Quote
Falcon1364 Posted Tuesday at 05:02 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:02 PM Okay, perfect. Thank you for being so helpful. It works now. I had to add the radar. I appreciate your help. Quote
+simonmiller416 Posted Tuesday at 06:50 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:50 PM (edited) OK,but I wouldn't recommend this, though. SAM sites are usually laid out by map designers, either based on OSINT data from specific points in timeline, or based on their own knowledge. This is far better than add them in editor. +Wrench Posted Tuesday at 08:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:39 PM TK's mission editor is NOT really designed for that. It's basiclly junk (was going to use stronger wording, but has 2nd thoughts). That is ACTUALLY allows it is pure luck. That's why we terrain builder take such meticulious care and research to get things where they're supposed to be (or close enough). Let the game engine do it work, after we've done ours. 1 Quote
