debmalya Posted October 25 Posted October 25 is there any mod that can place infantry that can move (even at a basic level ) using way points in any map using mission editor Quote
+Wrench Posted October 25 Posted October 25 We've had working infantry since the early 2000s. They work fine when set to "tank". But they move reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyy slow. They also work good set in defensive positions, via a terrains _targets.ini. I should know Quote
debmalya Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 Thank you, Mr Wrench ! is there any specific mod pack that contains infantry ? last year i had set up a ground battle in the Ukraine map with mission editor with tanks /APC s Russain vs Ukraine ground forces mod +some CAS thrown in under overcast conditions was surprised that(the battle ) looked quite realistic (for a lite flight sim focused on aircraft ) but of course there was no infantry in the UKRAINE ground forces mod(tanks/APC ) missions types like COIN/ or maps like Afghanistan are weak without any infantry 2 Quote
+simonmiller416 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 (edited) This topic coincides with a recent idea I've been thinking about. I'm planning to add Special Forces to my modding list soon. Basically, they'll be Green Berets ODA in 10s-20s style. I plan to equip them with MAAWS and other gadgets, as well as "launchable" smoke grenades to mark targets from the ground. (yeah,I am also a fan of US SOF) I made those basic models in the "American BlackHawk Pack", they are not super detailed, but I think they are good enough for a flight sim game. +yakarov79 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 ODS30AE has good infantry units, with variable weapons; they pop some smokes and have stingers. All thanks to guuruu. 5 Quote

Living in Bergen, have not seen that in-game, but the scenery is indeed stunning. To make it more real, you should always have tons of clouds and rain. 3 Quote

+yakarov79 Posted Thursday at 05:07 AM Posted Thursday at 05:07 AM (edited) ahh... You are weirdos... You want to add raindrops to fresh leaves and simulate photosynthesis... while we should spend all our mission time in the cockpit. Not wandering through meadows and looking for ornithological curiosities. Edited Thursday at 05:21 AM by yakarov79 3 Quote
+Wrench Posted Thursday at 05:56 AM Posted Thursday at 05:56 AM . . . and I was gonna ask for dinosaurs ... 1 Quote
+EricJ Posted Thursday at 12:25 PM Posted Thursday at 12:25 PM Definitely need some velociraptors, T-Rex's and such. That would be kinda weird but cool too. 2 Quote

All joking aside I'm still surprised no one has mad Godzilla yet. I think a mini champaign using JASDF assets vs Godzilla could be fun. 5 Quote

Then again on the Kamchatka map there is the big image of Cthulu so not too strange I guess. 1 Quote

+yakarov79 Posted Thursday at 05:34 PM Posted Thursday at 05:34 PM oh oh oh...island swarmed with kaiju. Maybe add Rodan...(that was the name of that flying kaiju?) And it would not be strange or weird. Just something new... Even DCSers do not have such good ideas. 2 Quote

+Wrench Posted Thursday at 05:57 PM Posted Thursday at 05:57 PM One the WW2 Euro map, over Stonehenge, IIRC, is the Pink Floyd Flying Pig (at least, I think that's where I put it ...) Yes, Gamera is the flying turtle. Love me some Kaiji movies!! 2 Quote
