Fdino Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Hello air friends, how are you? I was studying the F-14 Tomcat. I love learning about the engineering of this aircraft. However, I saw that Iran also acquired the aircraft during the Shah Pahlavi era. How many F-14s does Iran still have (or if it still has any)? Thanks very much.
citizen67 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 41, according to 2026 World Air Forces Directory: https://www.flightglobal.com/defence/2026-world-air-forces-directory/165267.article 1

jeanba Posted February 3 Posted February 3 40 to 45according to Tom Cooper: https://theaviationgeekclub.com/iranian-f-14-fleet-is-not-a-threat-for-israeli-jets-but-its-too-early-for-any-tears-for-irans-tomcats-heres-why/
Cypress Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) I'd say probably less than 40. Due to a lack of parts they've had to cannibalize a number of them over time and around 3 of them which were claimed to be cannibalized and not fully assembled were destroyed by Israel in the 12-day war in 2025. V_AM Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Fighters number is one thing and Air combat worthy fighters number is another thing. They could have 20 or even 30 tomcats right now, but only few of them are in NORM condition for combat operation. less than 10 probably.
MigBuster Posted July 18 Posted July 18 A number were probably destroyed in the attacks on Iran over 2025/2026...............although Iran have hangers dug into Mountains so impossible to say how many left. Wont be surprised if after this is over they still have a few. Would also wonder if they are maintaining these near 50 year old airframes in any proper manner. 1
