The SFP1 Dev A-Team is still active? Their website still works?

I subscribed on their forum, and waiting for the email that activate my account, but nothing yet. The website still works? The admins are still there? I would like to download some aircraft, but can't do that until approved subscription.

A shame though..... soo many aircrafts models to use and play with. So much work to be wasted in time because and obsolete website. At least there are some sharing of their mods here on CombatAce?

Not to my knowledge. There are some skins and other bits that modify the stuff, like skins. As far as complete models no. There is a feud of sorts going on so and capun made it clear that we can't upload (we had some issues with one Modder on here with approving his files, and that caused some drama of sorts) full models onto this site. Wrench or the other Admins can comment on this of course, but that's how I understand the situation as it is now.

welcome rookie members, to the great feud that is CA vs DAT.

DAT has some things that are not available here, its true. but once you get some of their stuff, you realize thats about all thats great about it.

there are some mods here on CA that support DAT work. but you do still have to have the original file from DAT (lod at minimum) to make them work

as for there, well he hasnt even seemed involved enough to ban me again since covid timeframe. although with a recent release on 17 Feb, they are still doing something over there

Indeed i wanted to use some DAT files because i'm doing the 1948-1956 suez campaign and some aircrafts are not in the mod, but available only on DAT. I'm not interested in mod making or sharing. I just want a couple of aircrafts for my self-amusement Sorry if i sound opportunist, but i really don't get all these problems only for a bunch of virtual object that are free anyway.

However, i saw a lot of interesting aircrafts down there that are not here, so i wouldn't mind to try something different for a while.

All news to me.

The DAT team had some of their files here at one time but wanted more control over their work than we could give them so they went back to their website model and took their work with them. We don't have much interaction with them but they are part of the community and of course welcome here.

We get a lot of people here that ask about DAT's registration system. From what I know I think Ceasar "Capun" hand reviews each registration. Sounds mind-numbingly horrible to have to keep up with. I often wonder after all these years if he's still getting requests.

As for their work, I have heard different reviews but from what I gather it's stuff they put together that is in varying levels of completeness for a reason. They worked to get a lot of stuff pushed out the door and left a lot of the details to be finished later. That ultimately is their decision and we have no control over that.

Sorry about that. It's a pity that people have to argue and fight about a common hobby. There is already a lot of shit in this world, that these things should remain untouched from them. My personal opinion though....

true, theres even beef's in our happy lil home. we just tend to do better at keepin em to a minimum, or having admins squash them when needed

DAT's big difference is capun does it all himself it seems. makes for a harder life, and less popular choices

that said, it occurs to me: what do all the folks that were complaining about CA download limits have to say about DATs? misreading a clock was the reason for the first time i was banned...........

well Ed did retire from modding, so it may have gone back downhill  

besides, 90% of the last 3 years releases have been rehashes of stuff available here, but Temu version. im frankly surprised if they dont release an ODS All Inclusive.
