Loosk good, but can you change the canopy TGA?! from brown to a "grey" one like the MF F-15A?! I changed it too and it looks better!

I got bored. Really bored.

 

 

 

Took Wrench's IDF/AF Cat, and create a -D version out of it (data.ini-wise, borrowed Typhoid's F-14D for this).

 

History says that these IDF/AF "Kardom" in reserve got out of the bag from the mothballs, and the aircrafts were upgraded to the F-14D standard (including installation of the the GE engines, which Israel were allowed to license-manufacture for their own use) with some of the Israelis' own touches (especially avionics and weapons compatibility). These aircrafts, designated as the F-14DI, took some part in the 2006 Lebanon War to deliver precision strikes (supporting the F-15Is and F-16Is) via LGBs and laser Mavericks, and high-altitude reconnaissance. Their status after the war is unknown, although it was believed that they were placed under the "contingency force" since the Israelis were wary of the threat posed by the capabilities of Iranian Tomcats, if they were to enter a war with the Iranians.

I need to see if there is enough interest for this Cat in the first place, since it would be pretty much a mod involving DIY (kind of like Wrench's Tomcat FR.1). Not to mention that this guy is not optimized for WoI, unless you use fractalnoise's F-14 avionics update (would have used them, but for some reason the HUD turned out huge...video card issue?).

 

EDIT: Downloading the WoI F-15I to compare weapons used...

Another test. Removed the older readme because the readme by itself got long. More changes to the Cat to reflect a more Israeli theme in terms of loadouts.

Still working on sorting out the 'bugs'...just some short work on Wrench's skin to give the grey nose some IDF jets are wearing.

 

@ Wrench: Just to double check...is it OK for me to put in the skin, hangar, and the IDF pilots in the package too? Trying to make people's life easier by a bit. I'm going to get this guy out hopefully (more like 'most likely') this Friday...

Was doing a little experimentation on the recon loadouts. IDF will get some new weapon entries, although they would reuse existing models. The SDB rack is used as some kind of ECA, although the ECM pod might be switched for something else.

Some news, guys.

Recon loadout has been tweaked, basically on the tunnel stations you would have a pair of AMRAAMs up front and the TARPS + IDF countermeasure dispenser sitting behind them. The TARPS and CD are placed next to each other asymmetrically through the loadout.ini, so have fun avoiding MiGs.

 

Also, preferably use speed + altitude as your weapon in recon flights, as usual. They got the legs to reach more than 50k ft now. Yes, I even outdid MiG-31BMs this way, by the time I flew over their bases it's already too late.
