Can the A-7's get some love!

Recommended Posts

A faster A-7 would just be a bomber F-8!

Er...no.

The A-7 could carry a LOT more A/G ordinance than a F-8. A F-8 only had 2 wing hardpoints...an A-7 has 6!

Of course, I could be wrong...anyone with better info?

It be a Quick Little Ugly Feller. Probably be nearly 50% faster with larger wings for fuel and one more set of hard points on the wing. Thats my guess.

YEP! That's where it was. Just dug up my copy of Jane's 78-79. If my scanner wasn't being a typical HP product (driver issues?), I'd post it. I'll see what I can do. I think the one w/2 f404s looked better, really. Definitely chunkier, but better...

Ha! Found one!

yeah, yeah, I knew about the hardpoint thing. I was reffering to looks and performance more than tactical capability. And if you really want to get technical, the A-7 doesn't have the variable angle wing. bloody technicalities.

Its an AN/ALQ-131 jammer. Its not a 99 version.

We used a couple of these in Azores islands air bases and inland for Interception roles.

The twin engine version is a damn good lookin one!

We need it!!! For sure! Mirage Factory!!!!!!! :moil:

I'd rather have the A-7F (that's the designation for the F100 version) instead of this weird-looking twin engine version....

And I happen to like the twin. At least the "thicker" one in the painting. The (sort-of) 3 view is too...um...coke-bottle

I'm guessing I'm going to have to ask and bribe Sundowner to redo his FAA skins for the new SLUF.

SLUF with a burner looks odd.

Perhaps, but the extra speed is nice. You can really feel the difference during take-off.

The A-7 basically leaped off the runway...

I dunno, I think it looks more correct.

Never really felt it shouldn't have an after=burner.
