Use the standard WepPak. The Argentine camo tanks, and the 'avionics blisters' are not in the MF one.

They could be added, of course...

You know, of course, that once you add the weapons pak -- of any kind, you'll be having to start extracting the data and loadout inis for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE STOCK AIRCRAFT, as all the Soviet/client states and various other users have all been changed.

You'll need the cat extractor tool, available here in the 'Utilities' downloads section, and then spend a lot of time in the Knowledge Base's "Weapons and Loadout Fixes" Thread.

Welcome to the world of modding...and contragulations, you've almost taken your first step into a much larger world... :haha:

The upgrade of nosecones' skin will probably be up later today, just cause I hate having finished projects sitting around.

Got behind on some things...

I know most of this is that one-handed exercise, but I've fixed the following aircraft for use with the weapons pak, assuming Argentina is stated as an "ENEMY" nation (by editing it' entry in the NATIONS.ini) -- which removes just about all weapons for their usage:

A-4C 'Caza"

A-4Q

A-4P

Pucara

Dagger

There already exists, in the Bunyap WP, 3 Argentine bombs:

BK-BR 125 kg

BK-BR 250 kg

BK-BR 500 kg

I've created some new weapons, to replace those that can't be loaded due to nation status:

M117 750# bomb

TER_Arg

Shafir1_Arg

Sharif2_Arg

LAU-3A_Arg rocket pod

The only aircraft I haven't looked at is their Canberra.

I still have to write a readme for the update of nosecone's A-4Q, so expect that sometime tommorrow.

If there is any real interest in this...and remember, this is all moot when the FMT releases the newest version, I can upload the fixes. This will allow you to run single player missions, as the campaign ini would need tweeking for the new Argentine weapons.

Note to FMT: if you can use any of my stuff or ideas, please feel free to do so. (which, knowing the folks on the Team, probably have come to the same conclusions as I have!)

excelent work!!!

Im not good with those ".ini" and that, but im impress with your dedication.

in some forums is "forbiten" speak about that conflict, i dont know why (maybe if i play c&c generals with GLA im a terrorist?)

i got some data:

FAA airplanes in malvinas/falklands airport at puerto argentino/stanley:

Pucara, aermacchi mb-339, mentor, uh-1h, chinook, puma

there was others 2 "airport", but there use was very dificult. there was some kind of "here you can land...if God help you" A pucara pilot sai: "normaly we take off with 105knots and clean configuration (no weapons), in the war, when i reach the end of the runway i just pull up, controling the engines working at full power, with rockets and bomb fully loaded....i watch the speed...was only 85 knots"

i dont know if is useful put that "airports" in the game...only pucara and mentors could use it.

the name of argentine base in continent was:

BAM (militari air base) Rio Gallegos

BAM Rio Grande

BAM San Julian

those was the 3 main used, there was others, but the travel to the islands was too long.

Generally the squadrons used the solit base, but some times they move to others for tactical reasons (for example the attack at the carrier invincible by a-4C and SUE)

some fonts said argentine pucara used napalm, but i dont found any pilot that told that is thrue, i dont know, the "puca" can load it but i think never used by FAA.

The mission with the canberra should be at night, i dont know how to fly it in that conditions without any "electronic" help...

Remember the wheaters conditions...almost cover from 200 feet to up, rain or light snow, a lot of wind...and a few days with sun to contrast the clasic "sad and grey" how a pilot call it.

i got also some position of the ships if someones need it.

Thanks to everyone, keep up the good work, and keep your fingers up!!! :good:

I know what you're saying..sometime I feel like I'm 'tip-toing' around it as well. I know there are still strong feelings about this on BOTH sides, and I've had good working relationships with some of the Argentine modders we have (FoxMontor specifically asked that I do the hangar and loading screens for the Pulqui and Pucara -- and he's a super dude!)

Unfortunately, for game world reality, Argentine has become an "Enemy" nation. Which goes back to the loadout problem, now almost fixed.

Looking over Edwards original, I can't see how it could have worked, given the nation status, the Argentine AF would have NO weapons! (and this is NOT a critisicism of his work -- just pointing something out)

Anyway, look for loadout fixes for the Argie birds today -- you'll be getting 6-10 new, nation specific weapons. I"ll post them in the "Loadouts Thread"

And remember too, guys, this is just something to fill in the space until the newest, much better one comes out next year.

Very interesting issues here! after all its only a game! I take my hat off for all you guys making this fab info available, but I am a newbie here so bare with me its so much to take onboard in one hit. I am still having problems with the fuel tanks on all new addon aircraft and I downloaded the weapons pack 03jul06 I put the fuel tank files into the object/weapons folder I copy the txt data to dump into the weapons ini file but where the hell is this file I can not find it I see a weaponsdata-configuration settings file in the the weapons folder is this it ? I paste it into this file with the next number added and saved, checked the loadout in the game for fuel tanks aaaargh nothing  I tried to open the weapons editor double left click to open it " nothing happens" I double click again still nothing I think this is way over my head very frustrating. I think I need to start again so many files so many locations to put these files I think it will be fantastic to use these addons and patches to its full capacity once I grasp the basics... :dntknw:

The weapons editor runs in Win98 compatibility mode. So, you'll have to set that...what is it...right click on the exe, properties...set compatibilit mode....something like that. It's been so long since Ive done it!

There's a thread on how to get it to work in the KB.

In your Windows explorer, make sure you have extensions showing. I always use "show details" on mine, so I can see the file extensions

The files is called "weaponsdata.ini" That's where you do the copyp/aste of the new weapons data.

You'll get it...we all had to start somewhere!!

It certainly is an unstable mod. I had to do a lot of weapons pack editing to get Argie weapons right but it worked in the end. Also I can only play in campaign as a SHAR and then only for 1 campaign before the whole install crashes. I've got a zipped version that I unpack every time I want to have a bash. Great fun though.

Salute everybody!!

I'm also from Argentina and, as I can see here, I'm also working on a Falklands mod. It's been a nightmare, but seems it will finally work.

It would be GREAT if I can colaborate in any way with you people in this job. I know there's a mod coming, but it's funnier to do it by yourself (of course, i'll download it when it be ready!! ).

I hope This could Help:

- Weapons: I used a different method, using the weapons editor, I focused on what equipment used each side and then just uncheck al the others countrys on the list (under attachment type), but UK or Argentina. In the "nation name" blank space, wrote if it was Argentina (for the FAA), ArgentineNavy (for the COAN), RAF, or RoyalNavy.

Argentina Air Force uses:

BK-BR Series (bombs)

Mk17_1000_LD (Bombs)

LAU-3A (Rocket pod)

LAU-68A Rocket pod)

R-550 ("Magic" missile)

R-530R (SARH missile)

Shaffrir2 (Missile)

Specifical for each aircraft are:

A-4B:

A4Pcamo (Hump)

Tank300_A4ncamo (Underwing fueltank)

Tank300_A4nf (Centerline fueltank)

A-4C:

A4CA (Hump)

Tank300_A4Ccamo (Underwing fueltank)

Tank300_A4nf (Centerline fueltank)

Canberra b2:

CanberraTank (wingtip fueltank)

Dagger:

M3_SRP500C (underwing supersonic fueltank)

M3_RP1300C (underwing fueltank)

Mirage IIIEA:

M3_SRP500 (underwing supersonic fueltank)

M3_RP1300C (underwing fueltank)

M3E_RP1700 (underwing fueltank, don't know if these was used with daggers)

Pucará:

Pucara_RPx1 (Rocket pod)

Pucara_RPIzqx2 (Rocket pod)

Pucara_RPDerx2 (Rocket pod)

Pucara_TER (weapons rack)

Pucara_Tank300L (fueltank)

KC-130:

bDouglas (inflight refuelling hose)

COAN (Navy):

MK82SE (Snakeye bombs)

LAU-3A (Rocket Pod)

LAU-68A (Rocket Pod)

Matra32 (Rocket Pod)

MK81 (Bomb)

MK82 (Bomb)

MK83 (Bomb)

AM-39 (Exocet missile)

R-550 ("Magic" missile)

AIM-9B (Sidewinder missile)

Specifical for each aircraft are:

A-4Q:

A4Q (hump)

Tank300_A4n (underwing fueltank)

Tank300_A4nf (denterline fueltank)

Super Etendard:

Tank_SUE595 (underwing fueltank)

Tank_SUE600 (centerline fueltank)

Tank_SUE1100 (leftwing feltank, exocet weight balance)

Rack_SUE (Weapons rack)

RAF - Royal Navy:

AIM-9G (Sidewinder missile)

AIM-9L (Sidewinder missile)

BL755 (Belouga bomb)

Any MK series bomb (avoiding the MK-17 could be helpful)

Harrier GR.3:

Tank100_SHg (fueltank)

Sea Harrier FRS.1:

Tank100_SHc (fueltank)

More or less, that's it. The Super Etendard fueltanks are models I made in 3ds (595lts) and .ini modification of the (erroneous) ecm pod (600lts). Also made a new exocet missile (the stock one was a bit "fat"). I'll be glad to share the models if somebody wants it.

The humps for the A-4B/C/Q required a weight-diameter editing. Don't know if it was just a problem of me, but I wasn't able to get more than 450 knots with the scooter (too much drag from the hump)

OK, i lost completely the point. Was trying to write something, but can't remember what, sorry

Anyway, if I could help anybody with this, please tell me, i¡ll do my best

Saludos!

Posted elsewhere...might be of interest here, for more reason than one...

I modified the standard flakland campaign, by having very high ship types values, and ship organized in target areas, so that the campaign directs missions (strike missions, not anti_ship missions) against them

Of course the loadout needs to be changed. Not a problem with flakland since A-4 and pucara have dumb bombs and rocktes anyway. Trickier with etendards that might be tasked to attack ground targets while arme with exocets when AI managed. But by having a little number of etendard in the campaign ( which is realistic, I think they had 6 and 5 exocets in total) this possibility is reduced.

Indeed the system generates nice missions of attacks against supply ships, shffield destroeyes,(bristoll class), etc..

I have to see what happens with CAS missions, since eventually those Britishsquads and Argent Squad will come in contact..

Now my problem is that the sheffield played temporarily by a bristol ship, downloaded at combat ace) resisted two direct exocet hits....is the weapon not that great? the ship should have no flight deck, so should be destructible

Thus saying wher ein the hell is the setting that lowers dmage points for ships?

I need to know that to proceed with the GIUK project I have in mind, and improve this "interim" falkland

PS: Respect to both sides of that war. Courage of the Argies dealing with a superior tech enemy,, (oh those AIM-9L), and to the british for being so far away from home, stuck in a "little" perhaps avoidable war.

Long live and respect to the warriors on both side, Gentleman

Thankfully it was over; and as the IronMaiden sing, "No more tears, amigo"

Yes, some files has been removed. You can find some files in the A-Team web page, but I don't know nothing about the Super Etendard :dntknw: (may be this files will be included into the new version of the "Falklands Campaign")

Si, algunos archivos fueron removidos. Podés encontrar algunos de ello en la página web de A-Team, pero no sé nada sobre el Super Etendard (tal vez esos archivos serán incluidos en la nueva campaña de las Malvinas)

Using what's available, aircraft and skinwise (ie: from stuff already out here) I've recreated the 3 Skyhawks. It's just a matter of assembling the needed bits, and posting. If they're wanted.

BTW, according to a post by Kesselbrut, over at SimHQ, he's back on the case of the new set/campaign/objects/etc.
