+Gocad Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) No disrespect to him, but I do find this "swapping of oaths" to be problematic. Edited March 22, 2008 by Gocad
Viggen Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 That is cool. One day you tell someone they have the flu. Next day your defending your country.
Atreides Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Not to sound like an A** but this completely negate's the Hypocritical Oath ! But I'd guess that's the point of the article.
+Dave Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Hypocritical is right! Wow. Talk about a conflict of interest.
Guest Bounder Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 you never met a Special Forces Medic have you.
+Gocad Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 you never met a Special Forces Medic have you. Do medics take the hippocratic oath?
Atreides Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Hypocritical is right! Wow. Talk about a conflict of interest. Aarrghh ! I meant hippocratic oath...honestly, I was not intoxicated while typing that
+JediMaster Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Combat medics the world over face this dichotomy, it's nothing new.
TX3RN0BILL Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Well, in his particular case though I bet he'll try his damnedest to keep collateral damage to a minimum (or at least he should). And he's somewhat more detached from killing by being in a chopper instead of on the ground, holding a rifle in one hand and a medical instrument in the other, so to speak... It's not as if he could land the chopper there to treat a possible pacient of his own doing...
