Does this mean that they know nothing whatsoever of the outside world? Yes I think so - saw something that said it may not be wise to contact them face to face because they may not be immune to things like the common cold etc Quote

Alexander51 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Yes I would agree about limited to no contact for now. They would be extremely vunerable to contaigens that we are capable of carrying and transmitting. History bears this out when considering the first European colonization wave to the Americas. Quote from Wikipedia: "Thus the large-scale contact with Europeans after 1492 introduced novel germs to the indigenous people of the Americas. Epidemics of smallpox (1518, 1521, 1525, 1558, 1589), typhus (1546), influenza (1558), diphtheria (1614) and measles (1618) swept ahead of initial European contact, killing between 10 million and 20 million people, up to 95% of the indigenous population of the Americas. This population loss and the cultural chaos and political collapses it caused greatly facilitated both colonization of the land and the conquest of the native civilizations." Quote
Emp_Palpatine Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Shouldn't have we waited for them to have Warp Drive before contacting them?! Quote
