Any idea of a E-3 too? Since the Dash-80 is just a 'somewhat shortened 707'.

Nice touch! Just wondering, will you be adding the hose/drogue pods as well?

The USAF ones also carry the pods, though I don't know how often... Storm might be able to provide more details.

Each active-duty/AFRes wing has a few MPRS (Multi-Point Refueling System) jets assigned to them. The ANG do not. The pods dont come off unless they are removed for maintenance reasons.

Here is a good picture I found on the net of it in action.

"An Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker from the 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron refuels a Royal Air Force GR-4 Tornado over Iraq Feb. 25 using the multipoint refueling system. With MPRS, Air Force tankers have the versatility to refuel Air Force, Navy and coalition aircraft all in the same mission. (Royal Air Force photo)"

According to my logbook, I was actually flying this jet when this pic was taken back on the 25th of Feb. Cool huh?

Jeff

P.S. I've got a ton of detail shots of the MPRS if needed

Looks great! Love the boom animation. Just for reference, for most receivers we extend the nozzle out to 10 feet and make contacts around 12ft.

Do you need any pics of the pods or anything else?

Ok, time for some MPRS stuff. Plus I cant let this fall too far down on the page.

Here are some photos and specs from a slideshow presentation that I created for my instructor upgrade.

Each pod weighs 1442lb, and allows for a 400gpm offload rate.

The hose length when fully deployed is 74ft.

Hope it helps.

Found some drawings of our various panels for the cockpit also. Should provide someone with decent enough detail to create a cockpit when the time comes.
