+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Not the troop transport but the plane behind all torn up. I will be greatly surprised if anyone get this.
Sakai Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) C-133 perhaps, the extenda Herc ;) Edited November 4, 2008 by Sakai
Viggen Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Is that a Flogger behind the torn up transport?
+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Is that a Flogger behind the torn up transport? Yes a Mig-23MLD I believe.
+ST0RM Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Nice to see that the XC-99 finally made it to Wright-Patt. It sat at Kelly for a long time. -S P.S. Do I win? What's the prize?
+starfighter2 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) C-82 Packet ? Or maybe C-119 Flying Boxcar? In background I suppose it's Convair XC-99. Edited November 4, 2008 by starfighter2
+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 C-82 Packet ? Not the troop transport No...
+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 I suppose it's Convair XC-99. But you had to look it up didn't you....tsk tsk.....
Viggen Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Is that C-82 the same one that was on display out doors?
+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Is that C-82 the same one that was on display out doors? Yes, going in for refurbishing.
+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 No its the XC-99 as starfighter said....
+ST0RM Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 No its the XC-99 as starfighter said.... Hey! I got in before starfighter... But I'll forward on my prize of a large sack of coal to him.
+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Hey! I got in before starfighter... But I'll forward on my prize of a large sack of coal to him. Yeah but you don't count....you knew because you and I talked about it before.....wanker.....
+JediMaster Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 It's sad to see that's how it looks now. I read an article about it in IAPR I think a few months ago. A B-36 turned into a massive cargo plane. You can see how thick the wings were on the side of the fuselage.
+FastCargo Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Not the troop transport but the plane behind all torn up. I will be greatly surprised if anyone get this. Bastage, I could have told you that if I hadn't been flyin! That wreck had been sitting at KSKF for YEARS, saw it all the time. FastCargo
Jolly07 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) Is that a Flogger behind the torn up transport? I was just about to ask. but being in the US, I think it's an F-102 or F-106.. unless you've captured MiG's. it's a Convair graveyard! then again, I may be wrong.. maybe it is a MiG. LOL. Edited November 4, 2008 by Jolly07
+ST0RM Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Being that the airfield is Wright-Patterson where the USAF museum is located, I'd be willing to bet it is a MiG-23. Note the dark grey radome and camo on the fuselage. I'll go even further and speculate that it's ex-Egyptian. We've had several MiGs in our hands over the years. We even own several MiG-29s that we bought from Moldova a bunch of years ago. Pitty they didnt reactivate an Aggressor unit with them. -S

(Edit: No I dont, but I have to find it) Its not Egyptian though, Its ex Polish AF. Also we have a 2 seater Mig-29 here too.
+Dave Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 In fact back in a hour with pics. They already started taking the pain off.
+SayethWhaaaa Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I couldn't figure out what you guys were talking about. I was gonna ask if it was one of those snaps where you have to stare at it long enough before you see it, and even then it's usually a sailboat.
