What  ?

Ok, Cartagena, eastern Spain, is the only city defended by a regiment of NASAMS in the Mediterranean. Is it the

kind of useless factoid you mean´t? Put all my effort on it

EDIT: Yes I´m from there. What does it matter? I´ve got a good air defence

Blue whales have the largest penis of any living mammal, measuring 10 feet long and 1 foot in diameter...

... wait, was this meant to only pertain to military factoids?

"never-mind"

The right side of a boat was called the starboard side due to the fact that the astronavigators used to stand out on the plank (which was on the right side) to get an unobstructed view of the stars. The left side was called the port side because that was the side that you put in on at the port. This was so that they didn't knock off the starboard.

The actual origin of the term "port" is speculated to be because the left side of old merchant sailing ships had a loading or entry port. The right side had a steering board that hung over the side of the ship (before the invention of rudders) which is where the term starboard comes from. So if the steering board hung over the right side, the boat would need to dock on its left side, or put into port on its left side.

The original term for the Port side of the ship was Larboard. This may have caused some confusion.

Yes, that's true, and you'll often read of (or hear) that term used in novels, and older films that were striving for accuracy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_(nautical)
