zmatt Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Something is up with my Mig-29. The only thing it has available for loadout is the AA-10. I know I have other Red missiles, my SU-27 has a long list to choose from. I have Mirage Factory's weap pack and I am patched to Oct '08. I checked the loadout.ini for any hints but I don't know what to look for. This is what it says. //Group ID 1 ------------------------------------------------// StationSeq 1 = Right Outboard Pylon Rail (Small IRM Only) // StationSeq 2 = Left Outboard Pylon Rail (Small IRM Only) //Group ID 2 ------------------------------------------------ // StationSeq 3 = Right Inboard Pylon Rail (Small IRM only) // StationSeq 4 = Left Inboard Pylon Rail (Small IRM only) // StationSeq 5 = Right Inboard Rail (AA only) // StationSeq 6 = Left Inboard Rail (AA only) //Group ID 3 ------------------------------------------------ // StationSeq 7 = Right Inboard Rail (AA Only) // StationSeq 8 = Left Inboard Rail (AA Only) //Group ID 4 ------------------------------------------------ // StationSeq 9 = Centerline // Munition Listing ------------------------------------------------- // // Air to Air // // AA-8 // AA-10R // AA-10IR // AA-11 // AA-12 // AA-6R // AA-6IR // AA-7R // AA-7IR // // Loadouts ----------------------------------------------------------- [AirToAir] Loadout[01].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[01].Quantity=1 Loadout[02].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[02].Quantity=1 Loadout[03].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[04].Quantity=1 Loadout[07].WeaponType=AA-10A_G Loadout[07].Quantity=1 Loadout[08].WeaponType=AA-10A_G Loadout[08].Quantity=1 [AirToAirLongRange] Loadout[01].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[01].Quantity=1 Loadout[02].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[02].Quantity=1 Loadout[03].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=AA-11_G Loadout[04].Quantity=1 Loadout[05].WeaponType=AA-10A_G Loadout[05].Quantity=1 Loadout[06].WeaponType=AA-10A_G Loadout[06].Quantity=1 Does that help? Or do I need to look somewhere else? Quote
+Fubar512 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Your problem is most likely due to service dates. Neither the AA-11 (R-73), nor the AA-12 (R-77), were available until the early 1990s. Even then, a typical Fulcrum loadout would have consisted of all-aspect AA-8B or AA-8C (R-60M or R-60MK) IRMs, on the outer pylons. Quote
zmatt Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) I have older missiles in the wep pack. So it should give me some other options right? I have AA-7s installed, I know that. I can put them on my flanker. I'm not sure about AA-6s though. Those are pretty old. At any rate I think its something up with the fulcrum. EDIT: I set the date to 1984 to test your theory. I went to the loadout and my option was sidewinders. How can that be? Migs never got sidewinders. And it isn't listed in the loadout.ini. I should be getting AA-7s, AA-8s and AA-10s. AFAIK, neither the AA-6 nor AA-7s were carried by either the Flanker, or the Fulcrum. The Flanker and Fulcrum shared essentially the same AAM types throughout the 1980s, the AA-8B/C, and the AA-10 series. Quote
+EricJ Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 From what I understand, the AA-11 and AA-10 were developed for the (then) newer generation fighters, Fulcrum and Flanker. Quote
zmatt Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) So any idea on why I have no other missiles and why I get sidewinders in 1984? EDIT: I'm going to try changing the nation name of the Mig to soviet. I downloaded the German Mig-29. Maybe if I make WOV think its a Russian bird I can use Russian missiles. EDIT2: Nope, that just got rid of all my missiles except for those pesky sidewinders. Edited December 3, 2008 by zmatt Quote
+MigBuster Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Maybe check the attachment type in the Migs data.ini file for the weps stations eg [RightInnerWingStation] ......... AttachmentType=WP ..... Quote
+krizis Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I think the same way. The 'SOVIET' AttachmentType is essential. Also you may check 'LoadLimit=', 'DiameterLimit=' and 'LengthLimit=' Quote
zmatt Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 I found the wep stations and changed them from W_Germany to WP, SOVIET The same as the Flanker. And it worked! No I have to figure out how to dodge sams without any ecm...... Quote
+Wrench Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I think you're working on the wrong airplane.... the loadout ini you posted, and the notation about 'W_Germany' above tells me you're working with the post-reunification version of the MiG-29G. Which IS West German (since we don't have a nation for the unified Germanies) Hence, when I updated the 29Gs, you see the suffix _G on the 'new' weapons for "W_Germany" You want the MiG-29A, which is the SOVIET version Wrench kevin stein Quote
