Updated the German Super Hornets with the new ECM values in order to bring them in line with the next update for the Super Hornet pack. Essentially after FC helps me with the modeling of the Supers I can upload that with the new model edits and so on, which will be some time.

Also on the S-300 front I did some Googling and found out that the reaction time (after being deployed) is 28 seconds. So I modified both Fubar512's and Farid's S-300 systems with this value:

Farid's S-300PT (just edit the data file from the SA-10A_LNC folder):

[WeaponSystem]
TargetType=AIR
MissileRange=90000.000000
MinMissileRange=1000.000000
PitchLimited=TRUE
PitchAngleRate=0
MaxPitch=90
MinPitch=90
DefaultPitchAngle=90
PitchModelNodeName=pitch
YawLimited=TRUE
YawAngleRate=0
MinYaw=-0.0
MaxYaw=0.0
DefaultYawAngle=0
MissileLaunchTime=28

Fubar512's system (just edit the data file from the SA-10L folder):

[WeaponSystem]
TargetType=AIR
MissileRange=150000.000000
MinMissileRange=1000.000000
PitchLimited=TRUE
PitchAngleRate=0
MaxPitch=90
MinPitch=90
DefaultPitchAngle=90
YawLimited=TRUE
YawAngleRate=30
MinYaw=-0.0
MaxYaw=0.0
DefaultYawAngle=0
MissileLaunchTime=28
YawModelNodeName=SeekerHead
PitchModelNodeName=SA-10

Also since I didn't have much going on today I took all the Prowler variants (EXCAP through ICAP III) and found out all those versions from EXCAP through ICAP III can jam the S-300 systems quite well, as well of course the Growler, so you if assigning those aircraft for Escort Jammer you can know that you'll be covered by them in a fight from 1979 to 2023, or until 2040 at least.

Some more work. I may just use the brown as the others for artistic license since I can't find a top or bottom view of the proposed scheme.

Final look. I changed the "Ambush" to how they normally do it as opposed to the proposal. In any case, it'll be uploaded soon and awaiting approval.

I'll see what I can do then. But the white leading edges could mean anything though, as it looks pretty bad. How about we wait until a larger pic shows up then I can modify it accordingly.

you could always FB message or email that unit PAO

i do it often with my projects. of course its 50/50 that they reply, then 50/50 that they have anything useful. but some bit about unasked questions and all that

i usually also point out that i make freeware flight sim mods and thats why im researching them. i like to think it gets a better response than if they thought i was makin a buck on it. and definatley better than  cold contact for info with no reason behind it

These are proposed schemes by Fightertown sent to VFC-12 if I understand it right. If VFC-12 didn't use them then they're essentially What If schemes and so on, so no going to the PAO for something  that doesn't exist at the unit.

Been playing around with the EA-6B Superpack by HomeFries. So far it's pretty good and I think it's a good plane, I just need to force myself to learn  how to trap the bird (that DIANE sight gets in my way and makes it difficult).  Anyway, for my fictional squadron here's my custom Prowler ICAP III. The weathering is experimental, as my references don't have much gunk on it, but it's always a work in progress skin that I fly sometimes:

Oh yeah, I've been talking via PM with one of the guys for YAP and one of my jets may be included, from what  I saw looks like the  F/A-18E, but not sure, so that's on the horizon for me.

Just to clarify, it's not the YAP most over here at CA think it is. YAP-RW is a free fan-made project done almost entirely by one end-user who bought all YAP products in the past; he's been updating those so that they work on Strike Fighters 2 for his own enjoyment and simply thought about sharing what he's done for free. He's in no way related to the original YAP nor to the fact original YAP guys monetized upon freeware mods without permission. The owners of YAP died years ago and the store was still up despite not being controlled by anyone anymore.

Apologies for the little off-topic, it's just that I've seen people complain about YAP-RW as if it was done or even monetized (it is not) by the same YAP guys responsible for those issues. This is a case where an unrelated end-user was held accountable by some for the issues surrounding those products, products he legitimately bought without knowing of all this chaos.

Thanks, but I think the Super Hornet in question  if the download is what he's expecting, isn't my Super Hornet, so I may dodge that bullet.

i agree that they should be given a fair shot while it remains freeware.

between many of the allegations against the original combined with being payware, YAP didnt have a good rep. the only thing i ever saw going for them was the availability of some models like the F-100F. looking at some of their paid skins even made me feel better about my abilities when similar products got compared.

YAP-RW is doing something that i very much dig though: taking the older stuff in the archives, dusting it off and making it as close to new as possible. that they are doing it with content that was previously off limits to many is cooler still. the only turn off for me still is that im not that into Vietnam era topics! but "Ralph" has been doing good with whats there (and i do need to ask him for his C-17s in the near future)

I admit I'm a bit leery of them too, and not too excited (too much) about YAP using my bird. But if I read the zip file right, may not be using my bird after all, just have to get a reply on that and I'll go from there.

Okay so far YAP just needed the avionics and cockpit for the F/A-18E since there's was pretty much incomplete. I referenced the names that did the actual work (I just did the skins and now working on it) so hopefully they're credited.

Also one thing I noticed about radars is that they'll lock onto you and then burn through your jamming. I fired a couple HARMs at a radar, and it seemed to get "angry" and lock onto  me earlier than normal. Usually you have more than one system painting you so it shouldn't matter, but that's one thing I remember from a test mission one time. Just thought I'd pass it along in case you're hunting a solitary system (and with the way that people with map skills do things, it's kinda hard).

Are there any FM gurus still around? I'm having some issues with the Prowler. No matter what I can't seem to land it right. I know I'm flying okay and can trap other fighters fine, but this one is pissing me off. I know it's not me, and methinks the Prowler FM needs some tweaking and so on. I mean it's not my mod, but I'm hoping somebody is willing to look at it and help out as no matter what I do, it lands all wrong and know it's not me.

bullcrap forever and i know the yap and they steal models - dont believe lies - still thiefs

The crap is yours I'm afraid, unless you believe John and Mike are still alive, cause they aren't. And the guy working on YAP-RW is an end-user (not a 3d modeller nor a modder) who bought those products. Is he at fault because he updated the products he bought for use on SF2 for free? He also was scammed if the stuff he bought was stolen and that's terrible. I don't think anyone can held him responsible for the crap done by others. That's what I meant with my post. The RW guy, unlike the original YAP guys, is at least asking for permissions in using CA mods in his rework, and he's also crediting modders. Original YAP never did this to my knowledge, they'd rather steal and monetize upon free mods.

Before disliking posts trying to give a more complete perspective of the situation, think twice. I (luckily) never dealt with YAP in the past and I never cared about it. I'd obviously be angry if any of my work had been monetized by others. I'm here for creating and sharing free legitimate mods. If you had an issue with YAP in the past, it's your problem that you haven't solved it in years before the owners died.

You're a nobody to call me a liar, and it's suspicious this is only your fourth post on CombatACE. Your previous three posts were about complaining that GKABS' 3d models don't work on SF1. You've never contributed anything over here from what I see, you behave like a troll. You'd rather show some respect to people in the community.

I may be wrong, but I think @Cliff7600 is the only FM guru still around. Baffmeister hasn't been around in a long time, he contributed for some time on ODS 30AE. Both are very talented! I have no such good knowledge on flight models.

I have to admit, even if the actual YAP-RW-people are not the real YAP-guys, the actual one/ones are still a bit shady to me. They give credits for stuff they use, that's cool! That's a thing, that actually worked better, than here on CA...

But they also change stuff beyond all recognition or simply copy stuff together, that obviously doesn't work well and still say it's from you, although that crap isn't. Call me strange, but that's also not, how it works (at least for me).

For me they are neither pure white, nor pure black - just something in between. Sorry for hijacking the thread even more. I'm out again.
