Correct! Found the skin - but not as an "ace skin" ??? I have only ca. 9 S.E.5 ace skins.

This one - B'619 - is a normal squad skin. Is that correct?

Flying as a lone Wolf this Morning, I spotted a little Formation of three Fokker E.V near our Airfield, and I decided to fly a little escort for them. Never had the fun to fly this wonderful Plane in Game 'till now, but it's September '18 and my Jasta 11 will get this unique designed Craft soon...

Currently there are 217 SE5a (HS) ace skins, of which 17 are for No. 2 AFC Squadron. Also 130 SE5a (Viper) ace skins, of which 12 are for No. 2 AFC Squadron. Your skins folder probably doesn't match as there are many new skins to be added to aircraft types once Phase 4 is released.

Great Pics Andy73...

I had never seen one of those flying before now, thanks.

Here is a little collage I have made from an escort mission I just flew. We met Jasta's 12 and 10 on the sortie.

We only met 10, who were flying Alb.D.V early, which I hadnt seen in the sky until now, because my 'wingman' got shot up and was flying in a straight line away from our lines and over their airfield.

Great screens guys. Salute.gif Below are a few screenshots I have been taking.

This one is from my old Nieuport pilot, John Hall. I was strafing an enemy airfield when, zooming low, I spotted a rather familiar aircraft - recognise it, anyone? grin.gif

This next one is from the same campaign. On one mission, I noticed half way through that I was missing one of my flight. When I returned to base, I think I found out why...

And now, this final one is of a shot that I just thought looked quite nice. I know it's odd that there would be troops under a bridge, but I'm just going to imagine they were trying to get out of the sun. cool.gif

My first sighting of a Camel in game...

I want one.

During a tangle with some airmen of Jasta 2, I zoomed in for a screenie and was amazed at this detail on the fuselage...Nice work Dev types, this is awesome.

What could that be, Sandbagger?

I made a full install - does anyone else know this problem?

I only have 48 skins altogether for the S.E.5a and the S.E.5a Viper.

The numbers I quoted are what I have, after skinning more SE5's for Phase 4. They will be available when Phase 4 is released. So for now you'll have to make do with your 48 :salute:

Some amazing screenies guys...absolutely bloody marvelous!

Here's a quick snapshot I took....I jammed my guns on the damn Camel behind...and he still made it home! (unlike me...captured!)

I think the skin is from a download pack that I found by UK_Widowmaker.

http://combatace.com/files/file/9858-6-sqn-australian-flying-corps-se5a/

I really wanted the SE5a skin from 6 squadron for the nice red band and kangaroo, just as a player, not for any sense of historical accuracy, just because I wanted to honour the Aussie flyers in my own little way.

Of course I know nothing at all about putting skins into the sim, so I put the unzipped file into the first folder of many for SE5a aircraft in the game, and with repeated messing about could not find the kangaroo one at all...Leading me to assume I had done it completely wrong.

However, the sim continued to run, which was good, and I found what looked to be a boomerang on one of the skins, so I just went with that.

They come back when you throw them you know, theoretically at least....Not the actual hunting boomerangs, they are just designed to smash your skull in, but I digress.

Anyway, the point is, if it is indeed one of Widowmakers skins, thank you sir...I love it.

The next thing I suppose is where can I find a simple step by step explanation of how to successfully get skins into the game?

I need the help to be honest.

Glad you like it m8...thats what it's all about!...thank you :drinks:

shot number 2 above, attacking the Alb...is one of the best screenies I've seen!....I have pinched it as my desktop (hope you dont mind?

NEWS!

Just installed the new 280. Driver from NVIDIA. It was a big Push forward to use this Driver for myself, because I was exhausted to see the "new" Anti-Aliasing Settings within it. 8x Q CSAA, 16xQ CSAA and so on. Now I've set the Transparency to 8x Supersample and this is the fine Result. A Simulator with 50 FPS.

Never had those fine Graphics in Game. Thank you NVidia:-)

Before I used 8x Multisample- Anti- aliasing.

Now I use Super-Sample-Aliasing. What a Difference!

What driver version were you previously running, Andy?

Your pic is very nice - especially the smooth rigging wires. I cannot seem to get that quality with my graphics - so I'm very interested to see whether the drivers you now have will make a difference for me.

Thanks.

Not sure how NVidea card control panels are, but you should definitely be able to get smooth wires

even with an older driver.

My ATI Catalyst Control Center has the following under

"3D Application Settings"

- Anti-Aliasing

- Anisotropic Filtering

- Mipmap Detail Level

- Adaptive Anti-Aliasing

You should be able to access the menue, when you right-click on your desktop.

Moving my sliders right increases quality.

You should use these settings, and forget about the Anti-Aliasing in the Graphics menue in "Workshops".

Needed a break from Lt. Harms' "serious" Campaign and went up with Jasta 50 just for the flying.

Some Nieuport 24 didn't know that and got me out of my daydreaming. Their own fault.

End of April 1918. I made me this rather simplistic skin with my zodiac sign, the ram;

to fly with Josef Jakobs and Carl Degelow in the black Jagdstaffel 7.

Oh, great skin!

And the sign so matched up!

My astrological sign (scorpio) is so overused in aviation emblems,

that I've never thought to use it as a personal emblem...
