more german surnames

Recommended Posts

i extended the german names file little bit because the german surnames were too repetitive. from about 140 names i added some, so there are now 1505 surnames. most of them were real ww1 pilot names.

would like to post it or send it somehow to everybody who is interested. don't know how. maybe via email.

Creaghorn, try to make them a textfile (.txt) with simplest notepad;

then attach the file to your post. Now everybody should be able to download that.

A good bet that the OFF team will just add Creaghorn's file into the soon-to-be-released superpatch :)

I already added my Germanic surname to the GermanyLastNames file! Added a few French names to the FranceLastNames file, too! Works fine! Now downloading Creaghorn's file. Thanks!

Kind of on the same topic but not different enough to start a new one.

Question is .....Is there any way to change the text size or text style in the briefing screen. For a blind bastich like myself I have to squint, stick my nose on the monitor in order to write the names down of the pilots in the same flight for claim purposes. Yes I wear glasses and bifocals suck azz for reading on computers.

Sorry if this isn't the place for it but couldn't find anything in the search.

I did something kinda similar with RB3d-- but it didn't use all of the names-- it stopped around 2-300. but, my question then is, so long as the data is formated in the same manner you have here-- then I could presumably expand ALL of the various names of the various flying services? I've already decided I wanted to scrabble together an alternate list of American names for a Lafayette Escadrille career... cuz, I just don't feel quite right seeing all of those French names in a squadron that's supposed to have American volunteers! so if I just switch the appropriate "FrenchLastNames" and "FrenchFirstNames" out (and save the originals as back-up) the problem's solved, right?

as long as i have tried out it took a very random number of names. some from the first, some from the last part of the file. so i think it's not limited like it was in rb3d. or at least i didn't notice yet. would like to hear if anybody notices anything like this.

switching out the name files as you described solves the problem. that's what i did with my fictive croatian Jasta Hajduk unit. I changed the german names for croatian names and every newbie who arrives is a croatian. so will the americans in your case. you also might simply copy the existent american name file and paste it into the french one. might save you a lot of writing.

in my campaign it's very interesting right now. since i reached spring of 1918 and the fokker dr1 and dvII appears, i changed the files back to the extended german names file, because i don't have croatian skins for the dr1 and dvII. in my world they have decided to abandon the german unit and so the few remaining croatian pilots are still there and within the time there are more and more germans. right now there are only 3 left.
