In the late 1970s, the IAF began acquiring MiG-21M/MFs, consequently a large part of the MiG-21FL fleet were sent into storage.

However in the mid-1980s, these FLs were pulled out of storage and retrofitted with two extra pylons and were fitted with IFF-400 antennas(on the nose).

This was the the best Mig-21 ever in battle and the most colorful, too.

 

......... the plane I alway wished to add to our sim (SF2I).

Well, very good question ...... Spillone and I are just talking about this.

 

We can make a downgraded only silver one using the Mig-21PF airframe and adding a silver parabrake pod on the tail using the fake pilot.

 

But this will be another plane: the MiG-21PFS/SPS, used by VVs (only a regt.)and LSK/NVA, which carried no gunpod.

 

This because the tail of MiG-21FL (like that MiG-21PFM's) was bigger then MiG-21PF's one.

 

So maybe is better make a good MiG-21PFS/SPS than a bad MiG-21FL ..

 

 

.. but at last we decided that ALL models will be done:

 

SF2I Mig-21 Type 77 (original and late)

 

SF1 Mig-21 Type 77 (original and late) [based on PF airframe]

 

Mig-21PFS/SPS

I'd definatly ask for an 08/Gen 1 version. Since Indo/Pak IS only being built for 1st Gens. When finished, you all can do you own conversions to NextGen. Since SF2 runs like pure s**t for me ... I don't even bother with it.

 

Great looking model guys!!! Are those Ghostrider's old skins? So the mapping isn't changed??

No Kevin,

the skins are ALL new, made on 2nd gen SF2I TW Mig-21FL temps.

 

We are making a 1st gen using old PF model, too, but it's really a Mig-21PFS/SPS with Gp-9 gun.

Better than nothing .....

Looks like I'd better get back to Indo/Pak after the beginning of the year, once I finish off a half dozen OTHER mods (some planes, the ww2 tunisia). After Indo/Pak maybe I'll get back to Central America....Flogger23 is dying to fly from his home country -well, the ONE airfiled I can fit on the map, that is!

Im really a fan of the "supersonic sportscar" fishbeds,since seeing 2 at airshow...I know they are fuel guzzlers and not endurance a\c but mikoyan really got this bird correct...its perfect..looks the biz...just love em...
