Hey guys and gals like I said I'm lookoing for other things to do and I'm looking to get an airsoft gun. I can only afford one and the problem is that I can't make my mind up on which one to get. So I'm putting it up to a vote and really thank you for taking the time to help me out.

Well, i would say that the M4 allows more versatility, apart of being the service rifle of your country (you were american, weren´t you lol), but while the MP5 would only fit an "storyline" about SWAT or somekind of special unit, that´s why i would pick this one up, a cop gun. I mean, personally.

Whats the stats of the airsofts? Like the FPS, Mag cap, etc?

I got an Accushot MP5 select fire airsoft. But the select fire gear is slipped out (suspect that the assembly is plastic) and it only shoots in full auto. If money isn't a real limiter, look into Classic Army airsoft http://www.classicarmy.com/index.php

Falcon

PS. Also whats your price range?

The M4 and MP5 are both common weapons in any SWAT unit across the states

both great weapons in their field

The M4 will give you a variety of possible use situation i believe (correct me if I'm wrong... don't know a lot BB-guns)

cause it's both indoor and outdoor weapon

but both are nice to have

I can't afford classic army just yet. I'm not wanting to go over four hundred. I found an M4 they say does 440 fps. I'm getting mid-cap magazines with seventy rounds the MP5 I think had a hundred rounds for its mid-caps. I see that high caps make a lot of noise when running around. I'm also sold to the fact that I take the M4 and turn into a SAW if need be...I couldn't do that with MP5.

And yes Nesher both are really nice to have in fact there is another one(gas blowback) that I wouldn't mind getting either it already comes with the M203, mock silencer, and scope....problem is trying to buy the green gas for the gun to use. No airsoft site I've seen has any available(one does but they're wanting a hundred bucks for a case of twelve.)

The M4 I'm working on now will have an "ACOG" scope with it.

I found this one while looking at the other M4....they are both by the same company...so there's no major change other than the color sceme.

The whole package that I"m getting plus shipping and handling with the insurance is a bit under four hundred dollars. Not bad for my first AEG. The gun is a JG that does 440 fps. I like that it already comes with RIS which means I can tack on a M203 later on down the road. Then a get 5,000 round magazine so I can have a M4/SAW type thing going on.

By the way thank you for weighing in on this matter and giving me your thoughts and opinions.

I've got an Echo1 (rebranded JG) CAR-15 (M4 before the M4 was designed) that's a couple years old now and shooting between 390 and 410 FPS. Very reliable and well built. Be careful with the stock though. I slipped during a winter airsoft war and dropped the carbine. Stock broke, but some rubber cement and electric tape fixed it up again. I've also got a JG MP5SD6 which has a better rate of fire but lower velocity. It's also really reliable. I like it more, but that may be my personal bias towards the MP5 in general. Don't buy one of those 1,000+ mags. I've seen them jam up a lot. The grenade launchers are stupid too, as are the landmines. Waste of money that just shower the BBs. I'd save the money for a gas powered pistol instead. Same goes for optics. Wind is going to carry a 6mm .20g BB moving at 400FPS. A 5.56x45mm NATO round, not so much.

Thanks for the 411 on the grenade launchers...I was really wondering what those things did. I saw madbull had some rubber or foam M203 grenades...but oh well. As for the 1,000 + mags I was thinking about going mid cap (70 rd)...I don't like that the high caps rattle. However I am thinking about a way to make the M203 shells worth getting however I don't have the resources or the money yet. But once again thank you for the 411

I don't see the logic in airsoft guns when most of them cost as much as or even more then the real thing that shoots lead.A much better investment and is actually capable of a lot more fun factor unless you live in an anti-gun state or a messed up country.

Lets do the math,

Decent airsoft rifle $300-$600

Real M4 rifle from several manufacturers $600-$900

Save your money and buy the real thing. :good:

Yep very true...

However a buddy of mine, who's into the real thing, got the real M4 very impressive but I don't have eight hundred dollars to get one. I hear the real fully automatic mp5's go for $80,000 the airsoft version that is much cheaper.

I also have one,its a Bushmaster.

As far as class III full auto stuff you don't need a bullet hose to have fun.You can get into a semi-auto MP5 clone for about $1000-$1200.The American Tactical Imports MP-5's in 22lr (GSG-5)run $450 and are a lot of fun if your on a budget.Add a 500rd box of 22lr ammo for about $9 and you have a day of fun in the woods or at the gun range. They also make a 110rd drum magazine for these now for $100.

80.000? i would get a Javelin ATGM for that.

AFAIK, an HK G36, in example, costs 720 with the sights included... that is, if you are ordering 100.000 rifles for an army.

Really? How much would it cost just to have the shell of one those no explosives. You see I want to put that in my front yard and hang a sign on it.

Don't break into my house....you can run but you can't hide.

Damn, i was thinking of using the Javelin to break into my mom-in-laws. Kind of a knock-knock joke

PS: If you read that with your crystal ball, mom-in-law, a Javelin is just something wich does the dishes, makes a lot of money, drives fast yet safe and won´t tocuh your daughter until honeymoon.

The "Tactical" .22 LR are a blast!!!

I own GSG-5 & AK-47, ISSC MK22"Scar", S&W AR-15-22, Sig Sauer 522 as well as a Chiappa 1911-22.

Shoot all day on a box of 500. BTW... where and what do you get for $9 a 500rd box???

I have pics if ya'll want to see them.

A full auto (Class III) MP-5 is nowhere near $80K.They run in the $10,000-$25,000 range. If your state allows class III the cheapest SMG to get into would be an Mac-11/10 series,Uzi,etc. They all require a $200 federal tax stamp, paperwork, fingerprinting, and several months wait to get the green light.Contrary to popular belief by the media and those not in the know, assault weapons(full auto, not semi-automatic sporting rifles that are often called assault weapons) are not easy to obtain and you need to have a good chunk of change to own them.

Well a 500rd box wouldn't last me all day.I was referring to general shooters who don't shoot all that much. Out here in the west I can pick up a 500-550rd box of 22lr for $9-$14 depending on where you shop.I have the GSG-5 as well.My son loves it.I have been eyeballing those 22lr Scar's though.Pretty good deal for under $500.

LOL well at least a few hours then! The "SCAR" is a blast. Check out the reviews of it on YouTube... the guy runs it over with his suv and then picks it up and shoots it.

I wish i could get bulk packs that cheap here... even "WallyWorld" wants $20+ a box. That's why I go to the web... :good:

I'm looking into purchasing my first firearm, but because of my age and Massachusetts laws, I can't own a high capacity (10+ rounds here) rifle until I'm 21. But .22s are treated differently. These sound like a much better alternative to the 10/22.

Can I get a link or two with more info about these .22LR semi-auto MP5s and AKs?

Wish I could grab airsoft stuff here. It's illegal to sell and illegal to import them here. I'd love an M-14/M-14EBR.
