GrinchWSLG Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Figured it be easier for me to just keep this all in one thread. Now that my ATC training is finally winding down (12 more hours and I'm up for final check out!!!) I've had time to get back in modelling. I've been getting a little better so my work rate is more comfortable and less frustrating now as well. Here's some pics of misc. stuff I'm currently working on. The high detail stuff will obviously be toned down for the game engine. Quote
Wrench Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 hmmmmm....is that the Templehoff terminal I spy??? love that airbase ... needed something like that like, forever!! Quote
GrinchWSLG Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Nope, not Tempelhof, although that is a good idea. I love Tempelhof. Its New Chitose, both the airfield and the terminal. Its the start of a potential Hokkaido campaign. I'm sort of waiting to see what happens with the new F-14 game and whether or not we get a new terrain engine for it. Till then I'm keeping my eyes peeled for good terrain tile stand ins. Quote

GrinchWSLG Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 New project... Still early, some parts are obviously stand-ins. Hopefully tomorrow night I can get the fins finished, then its detail work. Quote
EricJ Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I guess the YF-18 is no longer going to be worked on? Quote
GrinchWSLG Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 The YF-19 was my first model. As such, its really poorly done, although it looks okay in screen shots. Whenever I open it up now though, I'm really not happy with it. Once I get a few projects done that I'm working on I'd like to go back and rebuild it and remap it. The YF-19 is still my favorite fictional bird, so I'm definitely going to find the time for it. I've also been having trouble working with my older projects in Max. For some reason any models that I've mapped and textured cause all kinds of crashes and so forth. So going back and making improvements is almost impossible. I was trying to make a Ver 2.0 of the Fletcher but Max would just not work right. I may have to just throw out the mapping. Quote
GrinchWSLG Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 With the fins on and animated I couldn't resist a little test drive. The game engine has pretty good smoothing. Quote
GrinchWSLG Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Well I think its ready for mapping... Quote
GrinchWSLG Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 CBU's done. Now mapping. I hate mapping. Quote
Soulfreak Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I hate mapping. I think every 3D modder hates it.... But it looks pretty nice so far! Quote
WhiteBoySamurai Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Oh wow, is that the Yamato up there?? I can tell it's going to be awesome already. Quote
