+FLOGGER23 3,064 Posted January 27, 2012 (edited) Well, after spent the whole day in Photoshop, i´ve finished my first skin, far from prefect, i still need to ask to the master skinners: What do i need to make the metal parts to shine? If you see, the radome, has a different color, is there a reason for that? what is the best way to get stenciling and to make decals or even better, where i can get markings for planes, most interested in Soviet Floggers, since i plan to make several skins more. TIA and i leave you the pics, all comments are welcome:) Hey for some reason a 119Kb pic is taken as 15Mb and can´t upload it, any issue right now? +SidDogg 130 Posted January 28, 2012 You have to look back throught your account and choose Manage Attachments. ...it seems it's time to delete some of your posted pics from the past... I've run into that, myself. SidDogg

+EricJ 4,245 Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) Better color tones... http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/schemes/rusaf_mig23ub_e.htm It's a lot better to find something like the Don Color site because using the eyedropper tool to get the colors off photos gives you sometimes bad results. Buuut don't get discouraged as your skin is pretty nice Doing a proper skin takes a lot of research and sometimes Google Fu and work... And this may help too: http://562.50megs.com/LOMAC/Tutorials/LST.zip (Adobe PDF) Edited January 28, 2012 by EricJ
Svetlin 545 Posted January 28, 2012 [*]If you see, the radome, has a different color, is there a reason for that? I think it is because different settings were used for making the base MF MiG-23M/MF model and for making the parts to turn the base model into a MiG-23UB. Fubar512 1,350 Posted January 28, 2012 What do i need to make the metal parts to shine? That's either done directly, through the LOD, or indirectly, through a specular map. In both cases, it is the developer who needs to set that in the model. I do not belive that the Thirdwire Floggers have spec maps associated to them, at this point. The radome, has a different color, is there a reason for that? More than likely, special paint that won't effect (or reduce) the radar's operation and range. More than likely, special paint that won't effect (or reduce) the radar's operation and range. also i think some radomes or at least parts of them are molded in the needed color, tho this can lead to hiccups in the supply system. i remember reading that the early F-15s had black tips on the radome when they were initially painted AS blue. but later when only the Luke based Eagles were in AS, the supply system still had many black tips and so those tips could be seen on Eagles throughout the 80's. +Soulfreak 6,524 Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) I think that profile is wrong. saw a lot of Pictures of German MiG-23UBs and they look all very different. check out airfighters.com. There are a lot of pictures taken around the time of the German reunion. There are also some pics of German 23UBs.... But i will contact some people who may know more about the 23UB camo schemes.
