I have the source here, Tanks will be integrated into each model as standart. Bump and Specular maps will be added after finishing the 1 Basemodel of the Su-17 family.

From this "Mother" I will build the rest of the family. I have checked AD source, its not bad but very simplyfied. So I will use my Mothermodel for the rest. Its only the nose and vertail that needs to be changed and many many small parts repositioned. AD did a great job on the SF1 model, I want to have a Su-17 that is comparable trough out the whole family. It bothers me on the Tornados, that one versions looked smoother than the other but lacked some features. There was no standart!

For my part, I want it standartised and a familiar look!

Well that does sound like a very reasonable approach! Anyways, can't wait to try the new Su-20!

There is a lot of important work done behind the scenes, unfortunately this has stolen a bit of the focus from the actual campaign. But ultimately, some of the most important planes in this campaign will be done to a SF2 "HD++" standard which will make flying a lot more fun! Quality takes time, I'm afraid, and because us modders are still relatively few and all have RL stuff to deal with...

But in summary:

-Martins Su-17/20 is still progressing nicely

-Carlo has made some very cool MiG skins pictured above

-"New" MiG-23s may be around the corner! And stary has a gorgeous MiG-23BN cockpit in the works.

-Mirage F.1EQ is progressing nicely.

-Dast24 is working on the MiG-29s as you can see

I'll try to whip up some new pictures tonight!

Well friends, some news about the campaign: I have decided to make friends with the Thirdwire Terrain Editor and after a pretty mind-numbing session of adding well over a 100 custom tiles to the default desert tilelist I have come several steps closer to my dream of realizing a more beutiful Iran and Zagros mountain range! JSF Aggies excellent SWUS map just blew me away and really shows what the old terrain formap is capable of, so I decided to borrow some of his tiles (haven't asked for permission yet, sorry man!) to see what they could do. One thing led to the other and now I have decided to retile the whole Zagros region. In the old tileset there were only two tile types apart from farms, sea and cities: desert and mountains. This means that all of Zagros will look more or less identical, and if you sample photos from for example Panoramio/Google Earth you can see that the nature there is really diverse.

Here are some screenies from my work so far, some missing transitions still and WIP tiles but bear with me. All the art credits go to JSF Aggies excellent work!

Looks very promissing Centurion.

One general question I have.

Is it needed, that the textures are in bmp format?

Or is it possible to have them in jpg? Would save a lot of space and would be good for performance i think....

I´m not sure, but didn´t take Hunters part in the early days of the war?

Can someone exactly say which kind of Hunters?

I think they were used for attacks...

The final textures will be in jpg for sure!

IIRC it is pretty unclear what missions the Hunters flew but probably CAS missions along the front

ACIG.org states the following:

Flying Leaders School

- Detachment ?, Hunter F.Mk.59A/B at Rashid AB (Baghdad)

- Detachment ?, Jet Provost T.Mk.52 at Rashid AB (Baghdad)

The Pilot career and the over all campaign designed into EAW is most playable on v1.2.
The EAWPRO has a set of files you can download extra, to give the v1.2 campaign while still using many of the effects and improvements in the FXEXE.

      https://www.mediafire.com/folder/l0g2lap23wi39/game-patch-fxexe
That link is to get the EAWPRO patch and the extra Career Target and FMs Files for it.

      Hi,
a couple of months ago i discovered this gorgeous total conversion called "Yankee Air Pirate", and that the "REVAMP" edition for SF2 (the original one was for WOV) existed, and other awesome total conversions like "Drug Wars" and "Flight School" too, so i got ready to download them, but since i hadn't enough space at the time, i waited.
Now i come back on the website to find out all the links and pages about the revamp are gone, there's only the original ones for SF1 series.
Do anyone of you know why they're gone? Will they come back? They're maybe updating the mods?
      Thanks

      Notes about the installer
Beware, the mod is available only in the ISO format. You can either mount it on a virtual drive, burn it on a DVD like in the good old days, or unzip it with 7-Zip or equivalent software.
The installer will automatically detect your installation of the required Strike Fighters 2 games by reading through the registry keys. Game folders that are copied from or manually moved from where they were originally installed are not supported. You need all three aforementioned Strike Fighters 2 games and they must be installed with ThirdWire's original installers, not manually copied from other sources nor moved elsewhere after installation to other folders or drives. If you do not meet any of these requirements, installation cannot proceed and you are on your own. If you install all required games properly, the installation of the mod will proceed correctly as intended. The installer then lets you choose where to install the mod folder; you can even install the mod on a different drive or partition than the one where Strike Fighters 2 is installed. No further user input nor manual edits after installation are ever required; the installer takes care of creating all proper links to your desired path for the mod folder. After installation is over, simply run the mod by using the created Desktop and/or Start Menu links.
If you have a previous version of the mod installed, please use the uninstaller to remove it completely. Clean installation is mandatory. You might want to make a backup of the Controls folder, so that you can easily restore your controller settings afterwards.

      Suggestions on common issues
Make sure that you are using your dedicated GPU. By default, Strike Fighters 2 usually selects the integrated GPU you may have on your CPU, which is much weaker in terms of VRAM. In case you have frequent crashes or black/missing textures, I highly suggest you download and install the DXVK graphics wrapper (x86 DLLs) into your Strike Fighters 2 game folder: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk. You need a Vulkan-compatible GPU. The wrapper can greatly improve the experience with the mod. With DXVK I can play the mod on a mere Intel UHD 710, whereas without it the mod would always crash to desktop. Go to Sound and set Sound Channels to 32. We got reports that 16 is not enough and will cause crashes on some systems, due to the higher quality sounds included within the mod. The mod is pretty heavy for the game engine despite huge optimizations. Strike Fighters 2's engine is 32bit only and apparently does not manage VRAM properly; consecutive campaign missions might show black/missing textures on objects or cause crashes to desktop because the game does not release the occupied VRAM from the previous mission you played, thus the more missions are loaded consecutively, the more easily you may run out of memory. Set Ground Objects to Medium or Low, Horizon Distance to Near, and Shadows to Medium or Low. These are the most troubling settings. Avoid Unlimited settings as much as possible. If the mod used to work and suddenly crashes to desktop, updating or reinstalling video drivers should help. Make sure that DirectX June 2010 Redistributables are also installed, they are included inside the ISO disk image of the mod. Inside the mod folder, you'll find some extra text files. "(Coalition Order of Battle)" should be of your interest; the mod's terrain covers the entirety of Iraq, at the cost of not having all of Saudi Arabia; this means that a number of important units are based on airbases that are beyond the in-game playable area. With those units you always spawn near the target area, you'll never get to start from a runway nor to land on the assigned runway beyond the invisible wall. You have an entire list of the affected units in the aforementioned text file. By pressing ALT+N, the plane returns to base automatically. The mod is fully compatible with the Campaign Customizer and Mission Editor DLCs by ThirdWire. The Campaign Customizer might be an alternative way to experience those off map units I mentioned previously, since it assigns you to a random airbase of the in-game flyable area. Escort missions are often broken, this is not an issue of the mod, but a bug of the stock game; sometimes the AI flight you escort does not engage its target and keeps flying in a straight line instead of following waypoints, thus the trigger for mission success will never happen. Abandon the mission or retry it if the issue happens, sometimes it works. Pray for ThirdWire AKA Tsuyoshi Kawahito to work on a 64bit version of Strike Fighters 2, maybe even with support for DirectX 12. With that done, any out of memory issues should become an old memory. Can anyone help me with this campaign for ICELAND02 V2?
I took an existing Campaign for ICelandNA, edited all the bases to existing bases in ICELAND02, changed the strategic points too, to the same or similar locations on both maps, but when I go to start it, the aircraft/squadron I chose is run over and the game puts me in a random Hawkeye.
Before I changed all the bases, etc., effectively converting one terrain to another, just changing the terrain from one to another, the campaign started normally without any problems regarding the aircraft/squadron I chose, the only problem was that after a single mission the campaign ended. , saying that the strategic objectives had been achieved.

I've attached the files below, if anyone can test them and eventually help me, that would be cool.
If there is a campaign already made for ICELAND02 V2 and someone has it, I would also be grateful.

      Hi everyone,
I was wondering how to customize the numbers after your callsigns, since it always gives me the same ones.
I think i managed somehow once, a bit of time ago, but now i forgot and have no idea how to.
I'm not talking about how to customize the callsign name, but the unit number after it.
As you can see in the Roster and in the picture under, i get "Fast Eagle 1-1" and "Fast Eagle 1-2"
      Here are some examples:

The numbers on the tail, wing and nose numbers are customized, cause i managed how to change them, choosing them individually for each unit in the mission file by changing "AircraftNumber=" and typing the number, like "2" (as for 202). It doesn't change by typing the whole number tho, like 202 by typing 202, but it goes by typing the number that corresponds to the list of numbers you have. For example, In a list that goes from 200 to 400, you will have to type 10 to get 300. Here i just typed "2" and "7" since the list starts from 200

IIRC, in the past i just used to type the Aircaft number just like that, and in-game i had the proper number after the callsign, like "Fast Eagle 102", not just the number displayed on the plane livery.
How do i do? I'm pretty sure that it's possible to have "Fast Eagle 102" on my screen HUD and in the Roster
Thanks in advance for helping me.
