Menrva Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Hmm, strangely it doesn't happen to other users as far as I know. Make sure you have the following textures in the terrain folder: TEROBJECT_BUILDINGS1.bmp TEROBJECT_BUILDINGS2.bmp TEROBJECT_TREES1.tga TEROBJECT_TREES2.tga You should have them though, so I have no idea why it happens. The _data.ini should be correct. When the standalone terrains are ready, I'm curious to see if the bug happens.
jeanba Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I found a problem in H-3 airfield (I joined a mission file reproducing the problem) : pbF1EQint.zip
Menrva Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) I found a problem in H-3 airfield (I joined a mission file reproducing the problem) : I can't check ATM, so I appreciate all the help I can get. Spudknocker, if you can, please check it for me. I must admit it's one of the strangest bugs I've ever seen. Most likely it is due to shaders and some parameters in the _data.ini. My standalone terrains contain some tweaks to shaders (I am using some of mue's reworked shaders). Terrain modders, I am open to all suggestions. I am sure it's not due to the heightmap. The airfields are all flattened. The issue must be the _data.ini I think. jeanba, thanks for posting. When I regain some free time, I'll finish my work on the standalone terrains, and all bugs should be gone. Apart from usual bugs, the terrain contains quite many details; so pilots are also advised to look for landmarks and an important dam in Iraq! Edited February 2, 2017 by Menrva
baffmeister Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) Maybe the Z-Buffer Offset setting or FlatObject=TRUE missing for that airfield type in the ObjectTypes ini? Edited February 3, 2017 by baffmeister
Menrva Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) Maybe the Z-Buffer Offset setting or FlatObject=TRUE missing for that airfield type in the ObjectTypes ini? Good call, but I just checked the .ini files I have, and all airfields have said statements. I too think it's a z-fighting problem, but most likely due to the _data.ini. @jeanba, I can't check the terrain in Spud's mod ATM, so I decided to attach an alternative _data.ini from my standalone terrains; beware that other types of bugs can appear, let me know. Menrva Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Standalone terrain package has been uploaded, waiting for admin approval... Unlike the one included in Spudknocker's Iran-Iraq war mod package, this terrain has additional features and eye-candy stuff. You can use the newest release in place of the old one in said mod package, as long as you mod campaign files to fit the new naming conventions of the terrain itself and some of its targets. 1

Flanker562 Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 It'll probably be in the Missions/Campaigns section of the Downloads section for SF2
