The rebuilding of the F-106A is actually very well on its final straight... but there is this Weapon Bay Animation which is driving me crazy :blink:

I set the Weapon Stations like this:

As you see I plan to use the Flag "AutomaticDoors" so the bay will automatically open every time you squeeze a missile. Now the problem is that all three Stations refer to the same AnimationID (as they use the same bay...) and then just ONLY ONE of the three station will show the animation, the other two will fire without opening the doors. In this case it is the Station3 for IRM Falcons, which is the last one in the list (coincidence?).

I really tried a LOT of different configurations, but now it seems to me, there is no way to assign the same Animation to different Weapon Stations... though I'm sure a while back it was possible, don't ask me when this has changed though... :censored:

 

Anyone knowing another way to this goal?

DaniloE31, I had this issue as well back when I played around with the F-106 after Expansion Pack 2 came out. Let me take a look at some of my backup files and see if I have a solution.

I was in contact with Pasko about the 106 (2 seater).

If a good 3d Modder would ask, I´m pretty sure he will share the source....

we should ask Pasko for ALL his MAX files ... that way we can fix all the various issues (animations, decal bleeds, unmapped sections, etc).

There's a lot of good models he's produced, they just need some twreeking

uses the 'bomb bay' keystroke, Shift/o (that the letter oh)

 

some have also forgotten that IRM need their seeker head exposed to "see" the target with. If it stays inside the bay, It won't fire, or track if it does fire

That didn't work...

 

I replaced the weapons with yours and now there's no missiles in the loadout screen.

 

And the bomb-bay button does nothing, how do I link that to the animation?

the weapons are generic classes, that should present NO issue.

 

the animiation is already linked to that. check you keystroke setting.

 

other than that, ???????????? hope you backed up your original data ini!!!

 

EDIT: my mistake!! bomb bay is Control/o (oh)

I just copy pasted your stuff over the stations from the F-106 I got from the downloads section.  I always back-up the data ini before I start messing around.

 

I thought I had it when I changed the loadout.ini to match the station numbers to no avail.

Another frustrating with this modding thing has been weapons that were added for the F-102 and F-106 are appearing in the loadouts for the F-4C...

 

It's irksome that they won't appear for the F-106 with the manual bay text but are all over a plane that never carried the Falcon.

as to the other issues with the 6, don't know what to say. You've obviously done something wrong with the data and loadout inis. What that is, I can't tell.

The Hughes AIM-4 Falcon was the first operational guided air-to-air missile of the United States Air Force. Development began in 1946; the weapon was first tested in 1949. The missile entered service with the USAF in 1956.

 

Produced in both heat-seeking and radar-guided versions, the missile served during the Vietnam War with USAF McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II units. Designed to shoot down slow bombers with limited maneuverability, it was ineffective against maneuverable fighters over Vietnam. Lacking proximity fusing, the missile would only detonate if a direct hit was scored. Only five kills were recorded.

The F-4D carried them in Nam, the C never did.  Edit to add:  SOR 200 amended 17NOV64 includes the AIM-4D for the F-4C, and aircraft weren't modified for them under project Dancing Falcon until mid-1968.  AIM-9 capability was restored in April 1969.  So a 1966 mission should not have AIM-4D for an F-4C.  Additionally, no other model of AIM-4 was carried by ANY phantom, yet I've got them showing up on the loadout screen.

 

I _DID_ research the Falcon extensively thankyouverymuch.

 

Wrench, substituting your data.ini and loadout.ini lets the doors work with the bombbay button.  Knowing that there had to be a SystemName[xxx]=WeaponsBay for the animation to work would have helped a lot.  And I did ask, didn't I?

 

It's two steps forward and one back with this.  It's especially difficult when the search function never steers a beginner to the basic instructions so we end up asking questions that are new to us and old to you.

 

The hostility garnered from asking how-to questions might be justified if I knew what was wrong and refused to fix it.  But I don't know how.  That's why I asked...

 

The what shows up in the loadout screen uses WHAT line in WHAT file?  The AIR-2A is no longer an option given to me.

 

To get the proper gun pod and the Genie to show I had to add the station specific verbage to the station information.  That's because the weapons are coded to look for that line, right?
