Planes at Google Earth

Perhaps we could start a new topic about planes which are found at Google Earth or other satelitte pictures.

Wow, I never realised how the F-4 was so much smaller than the F-102/F-106. I kinda always thought the reverse was true.

The F-4 Isn't smaller just a bit shorter that's all.

The Wing area and length of the F-106 make it look bigger

 

Empty weights from the respective SAC documents suggest F-4B is actually bigger in mass:

 

F-4B = 27,897 lbs

F-106A = 24,038 lbs

The 106 has a much thinner, shallower fuselage (and only a single engine) so naturally the weight is lower.
