In a fully merged install, I get "Hawkeye" no matter which .exe I execute or which terrain I fly over.  I'd rather have Red Crown, since I think the sound files match up with everything else better.

Anyone know if I can do this?

PS - I've tried the modified Hawkeye sounds from here at CA, and I would still just prefer to have Red Crown back.

In my merged install I have both Red Crown and Hawkeye, with Hawkeye being there only when you fly for the Navy. To do this, you have to put Hawkeye sounds inside the "Speech\SpeechUSN" folder (create one if you don't have it), while Red Crown ones are to be put inside the "Speech" folder.

Try experimenting with this. I hope my explanation proves useful enough.

Folks:

The speech files used for each service are specified in the NATIONS.INI (found in \Flight, if you've unpacked it from the MissionData001.CAT). The relevant lines for the USAF (RedCrown) and USN (Hawkeye) are:

SpeechFile=USAFSpeech.cat
SpeechTextFile=USAFSpeechText.cat

SpeechFile=SpeechUSN.cat
SpeechTextFile=SpeechTextUSN.cat

Keep in mind that the SpeechUSN.CAT has a few more lines of speech to cover carrier operations (mainly approach/landing), so if you use RedCrown (USAFSpeech.CAT), you'll be missing recorded voiceovers for some speech used when flying naval aircraft.
