B52STRATO Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 And still a cultural phenomenom (Love the KrAZ truck) 1
+Cliff7600 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 And this is the oil fire extinguisher version 1
B52STRATO Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Poor T-34 ! Now it looks like some kind of a Star Wars Pod Racer.
logan4 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) Poor T-34 ! Now it looks like some kind of a Star Wars Pod Racer. Actually it was used years earlier than the world has found out how any pod racer should look. Was used in Hungary for oil-well fires. Later debuted in Kuwait after DS. I also loved to drive the KraZ was a handy beast. Edited November 2, 2014 by logan4
+Gepard Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 The use of the VK-1 engine for de-icing the runways was common in the WP contries. Here one of the east german versions. It worked very well.
B52STRATO Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Thanks for info logan. I'd already see some pictures of this T-34 Transporter but never knew (or rather look for) anything about its story. It's one pretty interesting tinkering concept. 1
+Gepard Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 The use of jet engines for firefighting is not unusual and so it looks if the system is working
Derk Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 We used "Sotjimas" with Derwents in the KLu for de-icing runways...
