Viggen 644 Posted December 19, 2014 Anyone else find issue with the commies flying that close to other countries airspace with live weapons?
+logan4 847 Posted December 19, 2014 Nope... all sides do it.. just they don't brag about it... nice pics though..
+Typhoid 231 Posted December 19, 2014 Nope... all sides do it.. just they don't brag about it... nice pics though.. Concur, standing operating procedure by all sides. I'd be worried if I DIDN"T see any weapons! I'd be wondering where the real flight with the weapons were!!
Skyviper 1,101 Posted December 20, 2014 So is this like a dick measuring thing or just countries pissing on their aerial turf?
+Typhoid 231 Posted December 20, 2014 So is this like a dick measuring thing or just countries pissing on their aerial turf? it is a bit more serious of a game than that. One side is flying with weapons within range of potential targets. Clearly sending the message that they can take out the targets if they want to. The other side is intercepting with visibly armed fighters to send the message that - no you can't. At sea, the game of the defense side is to intercept with visibly armed fighters before the offense is in range. it is a very serious game.

JediMaster 451 Posted December 23, 2014 What's more interesting is that the loadouts are clearly not wartime, but training and/or "show the flag". The Foxhound has only AA-9s...a poor choice if a fighter gets within 10 miles of you. The Tu-22M, well, it could be configured like that for a long-range mission.
