Air to Air Refuelling Screenshots

Recommended Posts

I know we can't really do air to air refuelling in SF2, so treat this as an opportunity to show off your close formation flying skills with some spectacular screenshots!

Any combination of tanker and receiver is allowed. Any era, nation, air force or terrain. Any model source, be it CA, TMF, DAT, YAP or other acronym!

Here are some of my efforts:

Gopher, I don't care if you're passing waypoint 8, I'm trying to connect to your drogue! Quit turning and just fly straight!

While the KA-6Ds are busy refuelling the second wave of strikers and the F-14 CAP flights, a thirsty A-6E gets a post-strike top up from a buddy-equipped A-7E

Something's not quite right there....

How fast is the tanker flying?

I think that there is a minimum speed to exceed for the boom to deploy.

Also, you are going to need a drogue fitted or your Mirage F.1s aren't going to be able to plug in.

(pic pooof)

I used an old WOE tanking msn file (RAF F4 tanker by comrpnt) and made a quick conversion...tanker speed is too low

And the C-135F's we have has no basket extension, unfortunately ... but it was some good formation flying anyway

Wow - Thats some extreme bank angle! Heavies maintained 30 degree bank in the AR orbit turns. Only saw it more aggressive during instructor school with the 'BUFF'/instructor crew.

Maybe the VC-25 pilot was an ex-BUFF crew and wanted to practice AR under extreme conditions?

Or more likely I miscalculated my waypoints when setting up the mission and rendezvoused with the tanker after it reached it's last waypoint and started to orbit!

Post edited to give credit to Marcfighters, and to the unknown skinner!

Looking forward to the 747 skins - there are plenty here to keep you busy for a while! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Boeing_747_operators

Silly me - Gotta quit taken things so seriously......................30 degrees is boring! This is SF2 (series) so tear it up 'Babe' - pretty good flyin for the POTUS's jet.

:ninja: D-704 .. where can I acquire one...

The model still needs some more tweaking, but after that it is good to go.
