Stratos 3,192 Posted December 7, 2020 As titles says, found this pic, but no info about the APC. Anyone know the name?
+Trotski 936 Posted December 7, 2020 I thought it was a BTR 50 at first, but the nose is too short however it could be a specialist vehicle from the BTR 50 family, I have seen a modified medivac one with the front shortened like the one in the photo

The only other info I can found is that was used by FAC teams. Maybe a variant with more radios. Thanks!!

+Gepard 11,324 Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) MT-LB was a wide family of armoured vehicles. From artillery recon vehicle, anti-tank-gun pulling device, SAM or ATGM carrier and so on and so on and so on. It was a maid of all work. The diverence between MT-LB and MT-LBu was the number of wheels. MT-LBu had had 7 wheels, MT-LB only 6. Here a link to pictures of some MTLBu versions: http://www.militaertechnik-der-nva.de/Bestimmungsbuch/5gepKetFhrmitTurm/53/MT-LBu/532.html And here MT-LB: http://www.militaertechnik-der-nva.de/Bestimmungsbuch/5gepKetFhrmitTurm/53/53.html Edited December 8, 2020 by Gepard 1
Stratos 3,192 Posted December 8, 2020 The MTLB was a familiar sight even nowadays, but the MT-LBu is a rare sight. Thanks for recognizing it and the info.
