Nice video, Rick! The AI appears to be more aggressive and more reactive to the player's moves. It looks to be much harder to draw a bead on them. No more flying straight as you pepper them with bullets!

The changing Lewis animation is cool, complete with sound effect! Nice!

Anything else stand out for you?

I've had the pleasure of playing BHAH II most of today and can testify to how hard dogfights seem to be now. Had a run in with a Camel in QC and it was hard getting any decent shot in for ages and he nearly had me too.

Loving the new landscapes and buildings, the new sounds and all the other improvements that have been made. Oh and I'm LOVING the goggles

Just take it up for a couple of circuits he said... I've repaired the tail skid he said, see what you think when you land her he said...
What he didn't say was that as soon as I did get up there, there was a bunch of Huns just waiting to perforate my new kite and bomb the hell out of the bloody drome!

When I did get down, the place was still being plastered... what a carve up!
After it was all over, I asked him to have a look at my new kite and could he find time to fix it a bit more... Strewth!

It could just be my rustyness, too! The vibrations of the plane elements really make a big difference as you are subconsciously seeing them as you scan the skies for planes. As primarily a Nieuport driver, the Lewis gun reload is huge! I've waited for years for that. It's almost worth the price of admission for that alone for me. Tracers overall are better and more visible. Now if they can just get those darned dx11 effects in things will really open up. I may drop the visuals on the goggles down a bit as the world is too pretty to constantly view it through all that grime. Plane selection is a nice feature and the map is much improved, no longer just a blurry mess!

Just flew my first sortie in the rain in BHaH II.  Having flown open cockpit ultralights, and having been caught in a sudden summer rain shower when flying one, I can honestly say that OBD has gotten closer with this than any other flight sim I've experienced.  The size of the rain drops, the misty quality, and the drops on the goggles, along with the sound, it's all right there.  Outstanding!

Just had a new engine installed, apparently the H-S 8B engines for our new S.E.5's made by the French chappies are hard to come by... a quick flight test around the local area is called for!

Thanks guys,

Pol, that's a very injured Charles Nungesser in my profile pic, so if he's flying around in an Albatros, it's only to get to a party over the lines .

Here's another couple from today's jaunts.

Popped into St-Pol and met some of the Naval chaps, they seem to think it was a good idea for me to take up one of their Tripehounds.
What a nimble and sporty little beast it is too!

It was a glorious afternoon... such a joy to be up there on such a day.

On the way back to their drome I saw a train near the coast and chased it along for awhile... a nice end to an enjoyable flight.

22 January 1917 RNAS 1 - Johnny Sopwith is escorting two seaters towards home right after they complete their mission. Suddenly, they are attacked from behind by German Roland DIIs. The AI escort flight did exactly what it was supposed to do and broke off to engage the Rolands, giving the two seaters time to escape back home.

Great video, Hellshade, although a Tripe vs. Halb battle hardly seems like a fair fight! Still, the AI's low-flying ability does seem to be much improved.

Now, let's see you flying a Halb against a bunch of Tripes! Fair is fair, they say....
