  1. I'm looking very much forwards to seeing the Netherlands playing. When they are good they play play some of the best soccer in the world. I'm ofcourse hoping Denmark makes it to the next round but we have a long way to go: We got 0-0 against the italians yesterday and even though everyone would have sold it for that before the game it smacked of defeat because we played better than them. In the same group our neighbors Sweeden beat Bulgaria 5-0 !!! They are scary this year
  2. i havent tried it myself - i havent played BF in quite a while but it looks cool and allmost makes me want to try it - the only thing holding me back is LoMac
  3. Now with the patch just around the corner i thought it was time to take a look at what the future might hold for for us LoMac fans. A lot of of modders have patiently waited for 1.02 so they could make certain that their work was fully compatible, so with the patch just around the corner lets take a look at some of the more interesting mods that might be comming our way soon: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * D-Scythes "Crimean Frosty Winter" This mod replaces all the wintertextures with what, at least at a glance, looks like the perfect blend. A crispine frosty look without the featureless white-in-white that is both boring and perhaps a bit too challenging in the un-fun way. For a look at the readme file go to the "official feedback thread" here or the "June 9th update" here.. on the UBI boards. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Country and coalition mods By JJ Alpha and T.E.C. Leader. Both of these esteemed gentlemen are working on country and coalition mods. While they wont add new theatres they will give you acces to a whole new bunch of countries complete with pilots, medals, units, skins and even national anthems. Dont expects them to be released the day after the patch is released but when the patch is here they will be able to start testing for real. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Dynamic Campaign by Ross McGregor. Possibly the "mod" that most people are looking forward to.... or would be looking forward to if they knew it was comming. Lost of people where dissapointed that a dynamic camping was dropped by the developers for various reasons but despair not: Ross MacGregor has quetly but steadily been working to rectify this. Even though the campaign/mission editor for Lomac is very good a dynamic campaing will add a whole new dimension to the game and probably expand the lifetime of this outstanding simulation. While you shouldn't expect it to be free it you probably won't be able to buy even a budget copy of A10-Cuba for the same mount (well maybe just that one) and many and for many this addition alone will make all the difference. If you want to check out the progress of this project then visit Ross's website here * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Last but not least is... the BIG UNKNOWN!!!...: If this upcomming patch is as good as we all hope - where is ED heading next? Will they move on to new projects alltogether or are there still something in store for us LoMac die-hards? Perhaps it isn't decided yet and might depend upon the reception of the much anticipated 1.02. Lets hope for the best. I didn't really want this to end on a lecturing note but i cant help saying this: If you basically love this sim and would like it to become what feel it could be - then let the people who work on it know! Not only ED but allso all those people who spend their own time and money to create these wonderful skins, missions and other what-not's. Give them feedback and dont be afraid to show appreciation for their efforts. We are a primitive breed in some respects and theese are the things keeps our engines running. To all work to improve LoMac: YOU ARE THE BEST!
  4. Reliable sources tells me this is the mod is the übermod for the fans of WWII combat. Take a look at the Forgotten Hope website - at least just for the screenies. Its free but a whopping 1.5 gigs (including new maps) - but the same reliable sources tells me its worth the wait.

  7. You would have to allign the clickable overlay with the view. And the view tends to be a bit more shaky trackIr. You could ofcourse hit "centre" and then disable the trackIr but i'm just trying to picture myself doing that just to press a button with my mouse - i dont think so. Maybe some would. I'm not saggin the idea at all. I think it sounds very good for those who really like clickable pits. But i think that it would be more usefull to people who uses a joystick hat to look around.

  9. :D ... if they did however contemplate any additions to the cockpit i would wish that all functions you could use would give you some visual feedback in the pit - at least when you can see the switches right in fromt of you i think its too bad that they dont move. The landing-lights is good example. I can see that little thing starring right back at me and saying "i move for no one!". Allso things like altitude hold would be nice to have and RWR modes would be nice to have indicators for. If you loose HUD then alt hold can really give you a headache.

  12. As i understand it you can choose to install individual soundfiles etc, instead of the whole thing, with LoMan 2.1. You might be able to use that as a work-around untill the soundpack and other stuff gets updated to 1.02 compatability. Its going to be interesting to see how much needs to get updated.

  17. so far its only an ugly rumor. This has not been been confirmed in any way. I find it very unlikely. It has never AFAIK been the ambition of ED to implement clickable pit. If it was something they had tried to implement but had to drop because ofdeadlines etc.. i might believe it as a part of a possible addon. That isn't the case ASFAIK. That should of course in no way stop us from having a friendly discussion about the virtues of clickable pits... if there is any

  19. Hi Taco rowler is right: Read the readme file for 1.02 and you will see that there is bith a lot of fixes as well as many additions. Not all has been as fortunate as you (or i) and been able to enjoy the game in its current state. Apart from that i think that flightsimmers are a picky bunch :D. No offence intended. They demand the most of the product and flightsims by their very nature allways borders on the edge of the (un)doable. This can be tiresome and sometimes counterproductive but it also pushes the envelope and makes for some truly great games that last much longer than your average FPS. If it gets too much: Ignore it. IMO the first thing in a readme file for a flightsim should be some fundamentals on when and how to ignore a thread on a public forum B)

  21. no: the runway-numbers displays correctly but the actual tarmac textures are replaced for all airfields ... and if you are using custom landscape mods, like winter textures, the airfield mod requires some manual CCD browsing in LoMan
  22. PT-Boats - knights of the sea is an interesting title by Akella scheduled for a 05 Q1 release. this is from their website. Features: Lots of screenshots and a video trailer on the site as well
  23. It looked like a good poll. Easy tosee how the questions related to gameplay. On the realism questions i agree with you - let it take its time and use time compression if you are in a hurry. I opted only to let it drop out of TC automatically only if you are fired upon... i dont like the giveaway if it slows to normal speed without any contacts visible. some of the questions where a bit harder: I have no idea how the crew management works or how much fun it might be. Do i prefer it over gadget-management? - i dont know
