  1. it's super easy with the sf2 complete install, each game is still a separate exe so you just do the typical renaming process and whatnot
  2. I respect that honestly hahaha
  3. Flown 5 or 6 sorties since I posted last and everyone's tips have been helping, only lost one guy so far because he insisted on going off to do his own thing. Thanks!
  4. I've been using Mavericks and AGM-78s cuz that's what's available to me, so it's good to know I've got a handle on the loadout at least. I've been pretty successful at engaging the primary targets and usually my wingman gets some Maverick kills too. Flying low is what's been getting me home, so I think I just need to focus on giving more effective commands to keep my guys alive... Do you have to change a file to make SEAD flights 4 instead of 2?
  5. I understand it'll take practice; I've been playing SF2 for only a scant three years at this point. I've mostly done WW2/Korean War era stuff, though, so I'm still getting used to dealing with SAMs and whatnot. I never use time skip. I'll speed things up at most when we're in friendly territory but I never trust these games to leave me in an advantageous position if I skip, haha. I appreciate the advice!
  6. Look, I know these guys aren't very smart under the best of circumstances, but I'm doing a F-4G campaign, lots of SEAD, and my guys keep dropping like flies. They can't dodge SAMs, they blunder into swarms of Soviet aircraft and barely put up resistance, I get shot to shit trying and failing to pull them out of the fire... Basically what I'm asking, does anyone have any tips on how to use the AI wingmen more effectively, especially in SEAD sorties?
looks great, I love the LORAN aircraft and especially the F-4G
  7. I'm a bit curious as to the process for fixing the stock planes myself. I'm not an expert or anything but i always like to learn how to mod this game better.
These fit in so good in my NATO Fighters 5 install.
Love this terrain, it really benefits from being navalized. Goes great with malibu43's mod to change the stock SF2 campaigns to use it, too.
  8. Regarding IcelandNA running bad, I like gerwin's TFD/HFD remake of the terrain.
When it must absolutely, positively be blown up overnight, these Tomcats will be there and on target!
Wonderful set of F-16A skins. There's something about the simplicity of the earlier blocks...

  9. This game also has some of the most talented modders for a flight sim I've ever seen.
  10. Hey. I've been on this site for a few years now but never introduced myself til now. I've been playing Strike Fighters 2 for only a few years but it's one of my favorites.
  11. Oh yeah, and the guy giving us tips before we went in just told my wife to spam the Sidewinder button even though you still have a limited amount, and didn't explain that we also had AIM-120s at all. You don't have to work the radar and the weapons don't need to obey launch conditions cuz of the difficulty but come on, at least be like you have more missiles! It's also funny that the pre-pod "training" is taking out nearly stationary IL-28s and then they throw you into an actual dogfight when you get in there.
  12. https://www.museumofflight.org/visit/tours-and-experiences/flight-simulators I thought someone might be interested to learn that the flight pods there run on bespoke installs of Strike Fighters 2 or First Eagles 2 depending on what you fly. There's a choice of WW1 stuff I didn't get to see and a P-51 Mustang, because me and my wife chose the tandem option where one person flies and the other shoots. They just put us in an F-15 instead of a Phantom which is one of the other options you presumably get going solo. I know the Fighting Falcon was a choice too. No Tomcat, though, I guess they don't have North Atlantic. It was ridiculously short instant action stuff so maybe not worth the price of admission but getting to do dogfight manuevers, flying upside down etc. is extremely fun when you can actually feel it, so whatever...I will tell you that the straps solution for your feet is wholly inadequate, hahaha. Proud of my non-aviation nerd wife for downing three MiG-21s with Sidewinders though, even if they've got the sim set to easy!
