  1. It apears the Skyray is no stranger to other modeling groups too. Looks like fun. CL
  2. Hey. Thanks CA Brothers! I'm still a bit confused why we go ape sierra for a day in history where we declared our independence from the country that has been our greatest ally In my lifes memory and the last century. Currently, I'm probably taxed on tea more then our founding fathers were. The comments here on this site and seeing the folks in the economy dressed in all sorts of red white and blue, or something American (We have a big rodeo in town here for the 4th) Really turns my screws and even flips my burger. The Marine Corps even sends a colar guard, Some sort of tracked snow vehicle, and a pack string (mules) from the mountain warfare training center for our parade. Oooh Wee and Well Doggies! I was oversees twice for 4th of July in the Navy. On the Coral Sea parked off of a French port on the Med and next one flying off the beech at NAF Atsugi in Japan. The French and Japanese celebrated the day just as well or if not better then USAnians would. I'm amazed and proud of how many friends we have on this day. CL
  3. Bitchin'. Incredibly Bitchin'! CL
  4. Iron Angels did quite a few cruises so a few choices for boat names. From Badfranks post: F-8E Crusader USN VF-53 'Iron Angels' USS TICONDEROGA (CVA-14) 04/1964 05/1966 NF F-8E Crusader USN VF-53 'Iron Angels' USS HANCOCK (CVA-19) 01/1967 07/1967 NF F-8E Crusader USN VF-53 'Iron Angels' USS BON HOMME RICHARD (CVA-31) 01/1968 10/1968 NF F-8J Crusader USN VF-53 'Iron Angels' USS BON HOMME RICHARD (CVA-31) 03/1969 11/1970 NF NK, NM, and NE do something for me because my time on the Coral Sea and Midway. An NK or NM tail code on your RF or TPS skin would fit the bill too.
  5. You bet Gocad. There seams to be a shortage of crud skins in service with west coast CAGs / NX tail codes. CL
  6. Ah Sugar! I always knew I picked the wrong friends and the wrong career for the toys I wanted. The RC B-52 was most impressive. I believe I saw 3 gents with controllers on the vid. It makes since tho. 8 gas turbines, driving the airplane, other stuff. I could see the need for 2 flight engineers. I use to think that an F6F, F4U, A1 with Nape was too ambitious. Dangerous? Alot less then the fuel in a cessna 150  CL
  7. I think I found a link of 2 talking heads. At least they have no accent and I can actually understand what they are saying. CL
  8. Bitchin, Cool, Very ZOOMY too. But I thought these where Scooters:  CL
  9. When we where directed to remove beards I distincly remember the lingo: can scare women and small children in the logic somewhere. From the George Carlin Memorial thread: Here's my beard Aint it weird? Don't be scared It's just my beard C2Aaircrew, were you a Rubber Gulf? CL
  10. George Carlin. You will always be in a place for my stuff. Will they put the 7 words you can't say on radio on your tombstone? V/R, CL
  11. CL
  12. Would tps and all gull greys downloaded as a package manage the "flood" as irrigation then? CL
  13. Hey Gocad have you downloaded this yet? Looks Great! CL
  14. Or perhaps a joint, nail, hooter, or fatty. The check 6 site is in French but easy to navigate and has gobs of good stuff. You will probably learn some of thier lingo while cruising and downloading there. Don't badmouth our French brothers. CL
  15. How about we compare it to the loss rate of Jody, Missy Hormone, Dr Scratchandsniff, and John Q Public driving thier POV down the road. CL
  16. Just downloaded it and took it for a hop. The file is 29 megs or so. Very zoomy to drive. My SPAD is going to be jeleous. Despite my gripe about pits its worth driving before the total package is available. CL
  17. I'm thinking that maybe if 1 or 2 of them smiled, Owned a brewery, and an air park with Spads, T-28s, P-51s and maybe an OV-10, I could perhaps lie about my adult beverage habit. CL
  18. Wow! a postwar VS TBF / TBM, Bitchin' CL
  19. Ok. I'm hot and flushed more then probably anybody for this bird but this is where I will put my foot down. Yah I know my foot here is only text, words or trons but I think no new weapons platform ( someone can always make a drivable tank or boat) should be downloaded for us without the cockpit and crew. I can't wait. I'm probably more of an F6F guy tho. CL
  20. It's not just the fast movers. 3 years after I turned in my zoom bag for a "Safer" job I saw 2 Apaches fly into each other. All 4 walked away embarressed as any flight type can get. I was highly relieved but I was only an afternoon worth of paperwork away from getting back into a crewcut and the helo until I saw that. Chose to stay on the end of a chainsaw. Driving thru Fallon Nv last friday gave me a bad funk. Every yard with kids and a women in it I saw, I wondered If this was the family that was going to have the major life change and move back home to virginia. Ironicly, the missing pilot was flying out of Oceana. I like what you said Typhoid. I'm going to take that home to my current group. Ya'll in this group still aviating, good luck. I hope the holes in the swiss cheese model never point towards you. I mean it. CL
  21. Hmm? If this is the MF Crud skin snivel page I am on it. I want a: 1. A shamrock in TPS. 2. VFP-63 in TPS with CAG specific tailcoads. Coral Sea NK, Midway NM. 3. A VF-111 Sundowner skin in TPS would be splendid to. Your TPS bird looks more then done. I remember the F-4s, A-7s and A-6s in the fleet with that skin never looked done. Generaly they looked pretty beat or camy'd cause the paint batches didn't match after they were touched up. They all seamed to be missing some sort of nuisance marking, If you had the attention to detail, somewhere if you really had time to check. CL
  22. He was a Democrat. He treated Republicans and Conservatives as friends and nieghbors, Not suspects and un-indicted felons like the rest of the lame stream media. CL
  23. Yup! Thats how we lost our beards in the Navy. Told facial and scalp hair had to be cropped for proper fit of flight, DC, and such gear. Not because Cap Weinburger didn't want sailors to look like they could scare women and small children. Of course when Petty Officer 2nd class 9 letters of the alphabet and the rest of the USN, was directed to shave beard off on the first day of 1985 (Correct me Navy Bros) with the lovely logic about flight gear fit. Of course and predictably, Petty Officer 2nd Class 9 letters of the alphabet smartly replied "Bitchin I'll grow my hair out like Petty Officer Bambi Bolishnikov flying off the beech at Cubi Point". Good laugh. All I flew with knew if If I had more then 1/4" hair under my SPH-3 brain bucket I'd be more comfortable as a student at SERE school then have hair long enough to qualify as an identifiable hair style. Our Squadron's skipper, Lt Commander 4 letters directed all members to muster in the hanger on News Years day. Not 1 UA. We all showed on time in compliance with the new directive. No order for a parade formation or such. Lt CDR 4 letters was in the Coffee Mess Shack serving us cups of an adult beverage way more unauthorized then our beards were. Of course 2/3ds of us didn't recognize each other untill about an hour of conversation and 2 or more of the adult beverages. Clean shaven I should of auditioned for a Hollywood bad guy. I could / can scare alot more women and children facial hair free, then in sailor uniform and red beard. Currently bearded and wearing Nomex. There is alot of technology out to tell us about the temperature. The best one is free. When I smell my beard or mustache getting a hot curl, It's time to bump out. CL
