  1. I think JP-5 is similiar (higher flashpoint). Also, JP-8 is basically Jet A with the anti-freezing additive already added into it. FastCargo
  2. Question...did you run the Weapons Editor program after you added the entries? The WEAPONS_DATA.ini file is just a file the Weapons Editor program references to build the Weapondata.dat file...which is the file WOE actually uses. Otherwise, it sounds like you've done everything right. Heres the thread talking about using the Weapons Editor: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=9323 FastCargo
  3. JP-5 is used by the USN and probably the USMC. JP-8 is used by the USAF and probably the US Army. There are some subvariants of the fuels, but mostly, that's pretty much across the board in the services. There used to be JP-4 and JP-7. JP-4 was the standard USAF fuel, but JP-7 was the special 'thick fuel' used by the SR-71/A-12 family. Both have long since been retired though (the SR-71, JP-4 and JP-7). FastCargo
  4. Well, it's not my project, but it is currently in work and will be up here at Combatace once it's finished. I suspect it'll be released here pretty soon...trust me on this one. FastCargo
  5. Hey, no worries! There are times it bugs me too...especially if I'm in C group! :) FastCargo
  6. Well heck, if you meant in WOE: Pre paint: or post paint: 16 'Winders, 8 Slammers, and 6 20mm cannon! Bring on the pain! FastCargo
  7. Hey, plenty of people don't like the way SWA does business...and that's okay! Just bugs me when people say it's a bad business model, when it really isn't. But you're right, I've pushed this topic WAAAYYY off course. Sorry if I was sounding a bit strident in my defense of SWA...I got hired there and know a LOT of guys who fly for them. What I was trying to say is that every friendly fire incident is different, and different circumstances can result in different punishment outcomes. I'd be curious to know more details of the incident that maybe weren't released back then. FastCargo
  8. Not to their profit table. Southwest has been around since deregulation and is the only airline in the US to make a consistent profit every quarter except for one. One of the ONLY airlines in the US over the same time period to have never furloughed a pilot. They have some of the fastest turn-around times in the industry because they don't assign seats. Other passenger airlines WISHED they could control costs like SWA. And they are one of the few airlines in the US that can turn away passengers, because they are full. It's a free country, so fly whatever airline you want. But not assigning seats a mistake? Hardly. FastCargo
  9. Actually, it would probably get you NOT flying for ANY decent airline. Airlines don't take kindly to pilots with bad histories, and airlines DO find out about them... However, friendly fire accidents have happened before and since. Each circumstance is different, and can have different outcomes based on the situation. FastCargo
  10. Actually, now I think about it some more...in total A2A missiles, the F/A-18 may carry more. I've seen pictures of Hornets with 12 Slammers. However, since there are no AMRAAMs with IR seekers, total IRM count still belongs to the Flanker variants. Anyone with Typhoon/Rafale/Gripen knowledge can pipe in on this one...I'm probably missing something... FastCargo
  11. Which part? The F-14 downing a USAF F-4 is true. I remember when that came out in the news. I'm not sure about the exchange pilot story though. FastCargo
  12. Well, if I had to take a guess, I'd say of modern aircraft, any of the Flanker variants. Not only can they carry their smaller IRMs (Atoll and Archer) but their larger Alamos have IR variants as well, both in normal and 'long stick' varieties. The number of hardpoints escapes me though. I suspect you'll get an answer from some Flanker fans soon enough. FastCargo
  13. What kind of missiles? Air to ground? Air to air? Anti ship? Air to Space? FastCargo
  14. FastCargo

    Welp...

I've met Jim LeRoy. "Extremely stupid" is not a phrase I would have used to describe him. Have some respect for the dead. FastCargo
  15. As far as we know the Flankers are still freeware. FastCargo
  16. What part of "Keep nationalism out of it" do you NOT understand? Final warning! FastCargo
  17. I had something similiar, me in an F-18, followed by an Su-27, followed by an F-15...that was one of the most vicious battles I had in a while. I lost, but the Su-27 died a second later under the F-15s guns... FastCargo
  18. Just tested it, download works fine. Try again, or make sure there isn't a problem on your end. Also, I would recommend you don't post your email address on a message board. Set up for getting on a spammers list. FastCargo
  19. Gentlemen, Keep the nationalism out of it. FastCargo
  20. Another project (not mine) very much a WIP! "What the hell is that?!?!?" FastCargo
  21. It's already available...goto Capun's website, register, and download. Done! FastCargo
  22. Lakenheath Is Bombing Your Ass! Sorry, flew with some F-111 guys who were in that strike who had this patch... FastCargo
  23. nele, I'll have to go with Typhoid on this one...pictures, especially external view pictures, have very little to do with what you see until you sit, and especially operate an aircraft in the cockpit seat. FastCargo
  24. I think you can specify the specific rack name in the data file for that hardpoint. I'll do some research to see if that's true. FastCargo
  25. Tweak, tweak and tweaking! Taking it as a personal challenge, I decided to totally screwup USAFMTLs F-16XL model by making a fictional F-16G, using a F-23-class engine, adding CFTs, and redoing the hardpoints to fix clipping and loadout errors. Also, I found these when researching the F-16XL loadout, and based a lot of my work of them: Also, found this website with lots of F-16XL pictures, inflight, and on the ground...learning some stuff I didn't know about the XL version. Plus learning about some of the deeper issues with the original LOD file. http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item16628.html Anyway, after LOTS of experimentation, I came up with some interesting results. Note you'll see no clipping errors. And everything is user selectable, with the exception of the CFTs. Old school style air to mud: ADF Mission: You could also loadup a total of 10 Slammers (!) and it looks absolutely correct...no visual issues or trying to shoot the 'front' pylon. Super FAC or CAS: Need some range? Eat laser death! (Or laser guided anyway) Need to take out a few ships? J-Daymn! And when it's too expensive to drop real bombs... Obviously USAFMTL did all the hard stuff, I just stuck it in a blender and messed around with it. Man, I learn so much fooling around with ini files...like don't try having 39 hardpoints on an aircraft... FastCargo
