I might get RACE 2007 then. I skipped 2006 because people I knew told me it didn't really offer much that was different from GTR2 or rFactor. I have both of those, plus GTL and of course the old reliable, GPL, installed right now. I have F1C and NASCAR 2003 lying around, but not installed. I barely touch any but rFactor right now anyway.

The only way it could work is if they took the characters and transplanted them to a more realistic modern situation. There's nothing wrong with the characters, and they're better defined than most war movie characters are.

Well, Wing Cmdr was fixed in that X was yaw, Y was pitch, and twist was roll. I seem to recall in the X Wing series, though, that X was a combination of roll and yaw...

Well, to give context, they seem to think Over G Fighters had better and more realistic (as it was) gameplay, but AC6 looks better.

The thing that strikes me about the futility of war is the failure to understand the other side's similarities and differences. Everyone always seems to think that by attacking they will make the people pressure their gov'ts into whatever they want...yet history has shown people will band together against an outside attacker. At the same time, if the identical tactics are used AGAINST them, they claim "we won't surrender!" Um, hello? Why do these people think that blowing things up at random here and there is going to bring about some massive worldwide change?

They don't care if a movie is "good" or "bad." How many product placements have you seen in Oscar winning films? They only care if it will make them look good/increase sales. In this case, Porsche possibly thought that it would do more to hurt their sales with their existing clientele than it would to make Joe Schmo and his friends new customers.

I seem to recall the Yak on Column5's site. There was a B-36 in progress way back when, I guess it was abandoned/unfinished. Someone was also working on a B-70 more recently, don't know what became of that.

I never bothered with SWG. Heard too much negative about it. As for XWA, I thought twist=roll WAS the default. I'm confused...

Yeah, it was the Matrix in the old cartoon, but you can't use that today thanks to the Wachowski Bros little film trilogy without being called a copycat.

Our AC is at 80 during the day and 78 when we're home. Of course, when it's over 90 outside that's still pretty cool. We also have the ceiling fans, although we only have them on in the rooms we're in with one exception--the living room fan seems to circulate air around the house to an extent that the AC goes on less often when it's on. So that one stays on most of the time. We recycle and have changed out several of our "spotlight" bulbs. Other than that, not much...you reach that diminishing returns point where large amounts of effort result in little difference.

The A-10A had the Pave Penny laser tracker attached most of the time, but it wasn't a designator...it could only attack targets designated by someone else. That said, I find the A-10 impossible to use in MP because you get a fixed setup with LGBs and no way to designate for it.

The AI are remarkably capable of flying planes with damage compared to their combat skills.

I mostly fly single missions so I can try all the planes. There are still some I think I've only flown once or twice!

I agree, they should've let it be. The A-10 has some odd characteristics I've noticed, which the Harrier does not. Specifically, everyone knows you pull back on the stick to tighten a turn...but the A-10 won't. In turns exceeding about 30 degrees of bank, the elevators seem to stop working. I'll have full back stick and get no response. Roll a bit level and WHAM! Up goes the nose. If the A-10 in ArmA flew like the one in LOMAC I'd clean up.

You mean switch the controls to Wing Cmdr-style, where stick twist=roll and X-axis=yaw? I don't think so, but I never really tried.

My only comment--I'm jealous you can afford to devote the time to this! My time doesn't seem my own.

I think it amusing that the F/A-18A and C were closer together than an F-16C Blk 30 and Blk 50.

Yeah, that would've been great to try. Too bad.
